I remember the Hawk Skyray kit. Great starter kit. Nice artwork too.

I think Hawk is underrated by the modeling community. Interesting subjects and pretty clean kits.

Excellent presentation! Speaking of bending wings…bud was flying a QF-4E on a pre-shot test parameter validation mission on WSMR. High speed/low level on drone autopilot/control (monitoring the aircraft) when a software anomaly reared its ugly head and pushed the nose over. He pulled for survival recording over 12.5 g (that was the max number on the axis with a short pause before the recording track reappeared as the g reduced during the climb. Ripped the J79s from their mounts but he was able to safely recover the Phantom. It was decided to repair the QF-4E after inspection (pulled parts from nearby future range targets) and when they measured the aircraft, she was straighter than the previous recording 😂. Learning occurred as they designed and built the later jets, tougher.

Thanks again! I love hearing stories like this. All the times pilots did amazing things to save an aircraft that never get known. Hope others stories like this!
