Gary Moore was born in Belfast Northern Ireland and was both a solo artist and was in several incarnations of Thin Lizzy, also collaborative work with Phil Lynott. A legendary Singer/ Guitarist, he died about ten years ago. Rest In Peace

    Stratospheric reaction, Bearded Wonder!
Another Gary Moore beauty is “Need Your Love So Bad” from his album “Blues for Greeny”.
Mr Moore did the album as a tribute to Peter Green using the maestro’s old guitar, a beat-up but fabulous 1959 Les Paul worth millions.

Nice one Mark, so glad you "got" it, one of the most underrated, by the public, guitar players and singers ever but musicians worldwide adored Gary, George Harrison especially (check out their collaboration on While My Guitar Gently Weeps, breathtaking). His tone is unique, akin to the late, extremely great Paul Kossoff and he covered so many styles that it's hard to pick which was best - his intro solo on End Of The World is staggering but for feel, soul, tone and emotion you need to give Parisienne Walkways a listen plus the late, also extremely great, Phil Lynott shares the vocals with Gary.

You've dabbled with Fleetwood Mac. But FM is a much older band, dating right back to the mid 60s. Only Mick Fleetwood, the drummer, and John McVie on bass remained as constants. The original singer /lyricist/ lead guitar was Peter Green, who became another victim of acid, and gave up playing for many years. He was renowned for his guitar 'tone' [ later discovered to be down to a fault in the factory wiring ]. When Peter stopped playing, he 'sold' his guitar to Gary Moore, and this may well be that very one.
Fun fact: Peter bought the guitar secondhand from a shop for about £350. When he sold it to Gary, he was so disinterested in money that he sold it to him for - ... £350. It has changed hands a couple of times since then, and I believe that it is now in the hands of the guy from Metallica. It is rumoured that he paid several million pounds for it. Such is the life of these instruments, especially if they have a famous provenance.
