The easiest way to cut steel - Machine build DIY

- Today we're gonna make metal cutting chop saw.
I tried to use relatively simple and available tools to show you that you can do interesting things without super expensive equipment.
I decided to build this saw for several reasons.
1. Swivel arm with blade instead of swivel vice. It is very helpful with long elements.
2. Thanks to the brushless, low-speed motor and lack of modes, the machine is much quieter than store machines.
3. I bought the engine a long time ago, just like the shaft, and I wanted to use it.
4. Cutting is much faster than on a band saw or angle grinder.
5. I had a lot of steel that I wanted to use to avoid unnecessary costs.

How to cut metal like butter... proceeds to cut metal with angle grinder like butter even after the saw was done lol... this is excellent I'm just playing. What kind of blade is that? And where do you get motor? Thank you

Finally someone who just gets the build done no “ hi guys “ crap. Bloody Brilliant keep it up.
Hi
Indeed! Thumbs up on this comment.
Yes indeed
So far *I haven't seen a single thing you've built that has disappointed me* so, I'll say it again: *WELL DONE*
Thank you very much! :)

You do good job
Do you store your differents projects plans et need material on web??

W dobie urządzeń z plastiku i blaszanych wytłoczek miło popatrzeć na solidną rzemieślniczą robotę. Wielki szacunek!
Ah yes, craftsmanship, there is such a beauty to it. I’ve seen a lot of build videos, but this is easily one of the most impressive (and one that is beyond my skill set). This was absolutely amazing.
Dziękuję, że promujesz Polskę. Bardzo dziękuję
Just asmr of excellent metallurgy, no pointless talking. I appreciate it very much. Also props for not using lethe, lately everyone who has one has to flex it.
Hands up if you have watched this video more than once!
Much praise offered for wearing protective gear. Great stuff.
What’s funny is every time I thought you were done, you would add something else and made it even better. Incredible job!
Many will say "why not just buy one?". Well, they'll end up keep buying one after another. Building it like you did will last a whole lot longer than any one sold at the store. I built a wood mill instead of buying one. Built it 15 years ago and still works like a charm. I love the detail you put into this project and keeping safety a factor.
Bravo, I have never seen anything made so well in steel by hand before, absolutely brilliant.
You're a grandmaster, you have no idea how highly you're rated here. One Russian commented that such equipment as your workshop does not have his specialized company. Bravo, your mind, your head is power. I'm a little sorry just because some of your solutions require such instrumentation that it's impossible to copy them. However, I already have this saw on the wallpaper so far I have used abrasive discs, your solution is excellent. I greet and wish you successful inspiration. you're probably one of the most technologically advanced thinkers here. I'll keep an eye on your exploits. I'm proud of you, even though you could be my grandson.
Brawo, Twoja myśl, Twoja głowa to potęga. Pozdrawiam i życzę udanych inspiracji. jesteś tu chyba jednym z najbardziej zaawansowanych technologicznie myśliciele. Będę pilnie śledził Twoje wyczyny, jestem z Ciebie dumny, choć mógłbyś być moim wnuczkiem.
Inspirational. 'Can do' attitude, simple tools, knows how to use them to maximum benefit. Bangs it out, cleans up the edges, accounts for adjustments, real skill. Excellent DIY. Creating real value with raw materials to make a tool. New tool helps next project. Real progress. Sets a good example for the ones who want to learn. Subscribed.
Mate I'm gunna have to say... "You are the man"
Very well executed and probably more solid than any equivalent factory made one available!
Yea, he sure did !
I must have seen this half a dozen times in the last year? Still straight forward and accurate as last time I watched. Nice one son.
Incredible design forethought throughout the entire build. Very professionally done ✅
This has to be one of the top saw builds I have seen!! This is a high end, expensive, dream saw that people would drool over from some well known company
Agreed
This guy is a genius and I as a home handyman are in awe of how easy he made it look, when I know that I could not duplicate, I wish I could. Engineering Masterclass.
Como faço para comprar uma marquinha dessa??
Cool its good to see someone building there tool's instead of buying the junk that these stores sale today keep up the good work
Amazing. You make it look so easy, but there is obviously an incredible amount of design prep that precedes all the details of your projects.
Hahah I love how the machine is not completely finished ,yet you're using it to make parts for itself haha amazing!!
I thought the same it was great
You know that its gonna be a good machine if it already works half way throught the build 😂
I can't tell you how deeply satisfying it is to watch people who know exactly what they're doing 🤗!
I'm glad I watched this whole thing! I was about to comment that I have an Evolution saw that I bought for like $250 - $300. I am very jealous now! Brilliant making the saw motor swivel!
I loved how the saw started cutting its own parts at the end. Awesome build im really impressed
Really nice build. Reminds me of when tools were built for purpose and longevity. This should last for many many years. Love it 👍
They are heirlooms ;)
He used more metal for the chip collector drawer, than most manufacturers use for whole chopsaw. :) 👍 nice build!
Wow. I never thought of making my own power tools, but building your own lets you overbuild as much as you want. Thank you for the inspiration, I have a few new projects to get started on. Cheers!
Now that is a well thought out, quality build, using general tools, very impressive work. That will last year's and you get the satisfaction of knowing you designed and built it.
Zajebista piła, szacun dla ciebie bo masz pomysł i go realizujesz, a poza tym fajnie się ogląda jak ktoś w Polsce potrafi zrobić naprawdę coś z niczego a nie tylko na discovery są fachowcy
This is where all those years of experience payoff great job excellent share thanks for showing us and taking us along 👍💥
Bye for now Ken, I look forward to hear from you, God bless.
Super 👌 normalnie bajeczna! W fabryce by tak dobrej nie wykonali. Gratuluję talentu i umiejętności. Pozdrawiam i życzę sukcesów.
I love how you used your unfinished saw to cut the handle for your saw. Great build.
Absolute talent. True master of his craft. Love and respect from New York , stay safe and healthy. We are all family .
absolutely amazing build!! it's been a rare thing lately but you made me smile sitting here watching this thing being built. Just awesome job!!
Love your videos. I enjoy seeing you work without torches or plasma cutter. I use only my small grinder as you do when I'm in my shop. Thanks for the videos.
Spontaneous Intelligence. Simply flows from the mind. And equally great all round skill-set. That's it.
In the beginning I was thinking “ why not buy the saw from Evolution, if you are buying the blade” at the end I realised that this is way better than the evolution saw. Fantastic work as usual !
super wykonane dzieło można pozazdrościć pomysłu i wykonania, trzymaj tak dalej niech moc będzie z tobą
Wow! This is amazing, all of it - brilliant design, building it up and the final product. Excellent work! Thank you for sharing😀
I knew it was just that easy. In reality, Ill bet it took him at LEAST 15 minutes and he was just being nice to us to cut the video down. Sarcasm aside, this is brilliant. Great work. I wish I could cut steel with an angle grinder half as nice as this guy!
Perfection never ends. When I thought you finished, you do more and more. Great work.
The Amazing thing about everything you have made is it's all built like a tank and will last for ever, unlike anything you would buy in a store. Plus you can look at it with pride knowing you made it.
True
And it doesn’t carry the C word CHINA !
@@vinniemartin3682 NO MORE CHINA PRODUCTS
Love how as soon as it was functional, you used the the saw to complete the saw. Awesome!!
self build. I love seeing that too. He is good at what he does.
I remember when we could get bearings, steel and materials in the US easily and for a good price. I guess i'm too old.
Love the video, got the job done fast. I usually speed these up. Not a second wasted and cover ALL the processes, Super nice design, although I might use larger diameter bolts for the pivot. Well done sir, well done!!
That's what I call great craftmenship I need one of those.
I've worked on a number of machines made in Poland They have all been great machines, the trades are well taught in Poland. Thanks for the video.
Świetny fachowiec, świetny film, bez zbędnego przeciągania czasu, same konkrety. Obejrzałem w sumie kilka razy.
I’m a plasterer by trade but second of all I love working with wood as my dad is a carpenter..........my point being, when I see this guy it makes me realise I need to get Into some fabrication with metal. This was beautifully done mate brilliant watch 👍🏻👍🏻
I seen a lot of conversions of bad but this is the best one I've ever seen
Truly , one of the best DIY builds I have ever seen . Great work brother ! ....
Very impressive!! Really liked the very subtle tap on the em stop button. Perfect! You can be very proud of this build!
You're empowering so many people! Blessings 🙏
I love how he uses the machine to finish building the machine.
Wicked Designs That might actually answer the age old question Who was here first the chicken or the egg

My fav part
I did notice that too hahaa ....yea it turned out perfect! 😃
That's how skynet started
You Sir, are a true craftsman! Much respect from your brothers in Canada 🇨🇦 👍🍺
Very good job.
I am a carpenter and spend half my life using a miter saw, even the top brand saws need calibrated fairly often, especially if moved in and out of a van every day. A problem I dont think would happen half as much with a saw as sturdy as this
I was very glad when you made the guard! The thought of a blade that big with all of that power behind it.... Great work, y’all are truly fabricators par excellence! (with a hint of design and engineering)
Amazing job I like it. His doing everything perfect and precision with safety gadjets. And the dislikers are just jelous cuz they cant build one.
Nice build. Much cleaner and more accurate cut than an abrasive disc cut off saw. 👌🏽
That's Some Serious Craftsmanship There!!!
Excellent tool, I personally would be very proud to own that after building it. amazing job!!!
Very well done man
I'd be very proud to have it in my shop no matter who built it. GREAT WORK!!!!!!

I love how you started using it to make itself.
AI creations of the future!
That was a satisfying moment!
allothernamesbutthis bold flex but ok.
Humans are the sex organs of machines.
Same
Superb workmanship. I like the fact that you built it heavy. I did something similar when I built my square wheel grinder. I used very heavy steel so when it is used there is no vibration. All that extra weight absorbs all vibrations. Hope you finish painting the remaining surfaces. A good machine like that deserves it. Well done. Have fun, be safe.
Simplesmente maravilhoso seu trabalho!!!!
Beautiful piece of equipment! You simply can’t buy this quality and performance anymore! Good job
Wow, I have to say the ingenuity and build quality just continues to escalate. Beautiful job and well thought out. The videos are also well produced and to the point, not a 3 or 5 part series, although I'd still watch 😁
Made in Poland You do great work. My father was a machinist and he learned from an old man from Europe (not Polnd I'm afraid, but he was an old-world craftsman who started his apprenticeship before WW2). One of the methods he taught my father was how to make prototype parts out of wood in order to quickly and cheaply test for fit and function before commiting to steel. I'm not sure if you do that or not, but if you do I think it would be interesting for younger people to see that process.
Вот это вещь!!! Я думаю что её хотел бы себе каждый мастер, сильная идея 💪👍👍👍
Jak zwykle perfekcja w każdym calu. ! ☺
Aż jestem zazdrosny o taki talent i fachowość
I can't think of a single person I know who wouldn't want a 9" metal cutting blade on wheels. Beautiful work.
That's 12 inch minimum
Lets vote???
@@SergeiArkadjevich You were closer than me, zoomed in and its 14". Nice!
Great looking saw. Terrific job building it. Better than any commercially bought chop saw !
Szacun za wykonaną pracę. Zajebista przecinarka.
WOW! With this quality of fabrication, I would say I'm confident now to buy "Made in Poland".
In my town in polan there is a biggest bearing factory in the world and by the way the town is realy small and not popular its name is Kraśnik fabryczny
Napoleon Sienes Polish always have made quality stuff. I think the kidding in the US is good natured because we know their stuff is good.
Like Germans stuff is good quality but always over engineered.
I want you to know how much I enjoy your builds. I am impressed by the planning, effort and consideration that apparently goes into each of your builds. You have built a reputation that you should be proud of! Thank you!
i love the fact that you start to use your new tool a soon it's fonctional to improve it.. great job !!!
The tensioning system for the motor is genius! I have a franken-compressor that I'm applying that idea to! Thanks!
One more thing ,It needs some flip down handles like on a big generator to move it around ,Great build I need one .Thanks for the recipe.!
Man, you have hands of gold, your work is priceless! Well done !!
You did an awesome build! I am excited to watch your other videos.
Damn that is a work of art. Hats off to you!
That is a well thought out, beautifully made, perfect piece of equipment.
I'm a former prototype tooling and machine designer.
WOW! This guy was precise with everything he touched , that is I would guess around 36 years of experience
Great work indeed, but those skills can be learned well under 36 yrs.
I've been a millwright for all of 2 yrs. This build is a cakewalk compared to what we build every day.
If this interests you, I suggest you try and get into a millwright apprenticeship
@@joehunt3512 I totally agree. The thing is not everyone has spare time to build things like this in their spare time. But a lot of us do this on a daily basis at our jobs. CZcams really makes people look like superheroes.

Sweet build, much better than using grinders or saws.
Yeah all these freakin hot metal pieces flying around, I recentle have a water cooled cold saw with 350 blade, saves me a lot of time and discs.

Yeah if you'd rather have a machine that weights 150 lbs, I'd rather save my strength on the project than lifting this
@@eksine its lighter than other coldsaws or handsaws. You realise you can make a wheeled base for any saw too?
@@janeblogs324 for one youre a liar. If you cut off the legs it would still weigh double of other commercial cold saws and 2 there's no way to take off the legs, it's all together.
What a beautiful piece of machinery/Art. Just Pure amazing, I would love to have one of those to my garage. Nice work
LOVE the emergency stop button location.
First video. And I have to say, the fact that you add in safety precautions, seems so rare to me for homebuilt tools. It looks lovely and works well, keep it up
You know what your're doing! That thing is looks super! Great work!
I am so glad I just found your channel.
This tool was well done. The safety features were very professional. Yes it does cut steel like butter.
Indeed it does cut right now, but how many cuts you can do with that disk before servicing it and how much costs that disk?
@@billadmond9450 the blade is around 120$ us. It'll last around 1k cuts as long as you are being gentle and not forcing the blade to cut.
@@robertstorms6203 LOL 1k cuts, is that on 1-2-3-4 mm profiles, full 20-30mm bar, middle steel, hard steel, the blade never loose a teeth? LOL
