- Mike Egan is a friend and also a fine musician and composer who traveled around the world with me as the lead guitar player of my band during various tours. He wrote "Victims of Love" that was part of the CD "Coming Home," and the also wrote this song (Columns of Gray) that is simply unique, not only because of the meaning it conveys but also because of the recognition it provides to all those who have fought and continue to fight for freedom. This video is part of the DVD "Totally Amazing" that can be obtained at engelbert.com
I was his musical director after he started this song, and it was one of my favorites at the end of his show
This amazing song gives me chills up-and-down my spine. Engelbert sang it with immense emotion. There have been so many lives lost to war throughout the years. If only we could have world peace. "What A Wonderful World" it would be!!!!! ❤🙏❤

We were fortunate enough to attend a concert at the Orleans in Las Vegas the first time you sang this song there Engelbert . We were totally mesmerized by this song , it is so emotional and so beautiful and you sing it with such power and feeling that we will always love it . When our grandson was in Afghanistan shortly after and I had the CD I played it often and it helped ease the worry somehow. He came home to us and for that we are forever grateful. Thank you for all of the years of entertainment through your wonderful music .
