It is true; I get high and treat everyone like family after my run haha
Ikr!
🤣🤣🤣 lmfao best comment yet
Lol facts! I love running but I've been in a horrible slump for the past 2 years and I stopped taking care of myself. Anyway, finally starting to climb my way out of this slump and I decided to run one morning. Afterwards I felt amazing. I was worn out but I felt so much better than I have been lately.
@@juls41056 this was a year ago, now I barely walk lol
How many months / years did you have to run before you achieved Runner's High?
It's highly addictive. I sometimes run twice in a single day to double the high 😂
😂😂 yes running and the feeling is addictive! But hey at least we’re getting a high feeling naturally then putting drugs into our body.

I've hit true runner's high about 5x in my life. I used to run everyday for about 30-45 minutes, but when the runner's high hits I could go on for as much as 3hrs. The feeling was, your chest aches a bit but feels lighter, your head is spinning but you have clarity, your legs hurt but in the good way, your sides have a small ache and breathing through your mouth tastes like drinking cold water. Back then I didn't know this was called the runner's high, I called it getting "in the zone". I though I discovered it on my own, guess they beat me to it Lol.
happend to me, 3 days ago. as a beginners, I run at lest 5km 3 times in a week, I ran 7km and then i stops, but in my heart, i believe I could do ten, Im not tired
It happened to me the first time I actually ran. When the run was over i hit the floor and it felt like i had taken ecstasy or something.
@@John-X nice lol I bet u slept like a baby that night
It depends on the level of fat in the body. Read about leptin hormone.
"Have you ever felt it?" Me: nope.
Cause you are fat and running too slow!
Meow Milev you can jog 1mph and still get that euphoria. There’s no need to put us down like that we are aware of our own insecurities
@@scrublord9505 Yeah. I only felt it after running 5 km after not running extended periods of distance in my entire life. Never felt it again though.

It's like I forget I'm running and that I can hardly breathe and it feels like I'm in like a state of total focus and pure energy 😌
i had this moment a few times while hiking. i was running down a rather long set of stone slabs down a beach trail toward an outlook at the sea. As i was running all doubts regarding my decisions to that moment (like usual) disappeared. i was in a state of control and presence; i felt the literal definition of living in the moment. this is amazing. it is something else that no drug can give me.
@@connermiller7291 and confidence is through the roof
Exactly I remember smiling a little the first time while listening to my music and just wanted to keep running
This only happened to me twice when I was jogging for 12 minutes and then suddenly I was able to pick up my pace and I get like I could run forever and I felt great
Its honestly the best feeling i last experienced about 7 months ago when i ran 10×300 it took the 7th one for me to feel it it was cold outside but after every 300 i would jog to 100 as slow as possible bending my legs as little as i could building up adrenaline. We ran in groups every time as soon as i touched the line up ready for the seventh one i look at my coach and look at the track infront of me. I took a quick breath and there i was 50 meters front of the group, i felt no pain and got fast i finished that 300 with a time of 54sec i may not be that fast but that is the quickest I've ever ran that.
USE FUCKING COMMAS, IDONT THINK ANYBODY CAN READ ANYTHING UR TYPING MATE.
I do love runner’s high. When I feel it while listening to empowering songs, I feel like a superhero.
The first time i felt it i was like holy shit did i become saitama?
How many months / years did you have to run before you achieved your first "runner's high"?
I've been running for months and I got my first one yesterday! I never thought it felt this good! I thought I could run forever! Best feeling ever!
I’ve only experienced this once before. I was trying out for track in highschool. And man they had us running and I mean running lmao. But I kept pushing and all of a sudden I started to notice my body feeling lighter. The soreness began to go away and I felt amazing. My body telling me I can do more🏃🏽♂️
Never done any drugs but that runners high was something I’ll never forget I literally had to stop for a second to appreciate what I just experienced

15 laps in 20 mins around the highschool soccer field during PE would do this to me. It is amazing but down side was I had english 2 afterwards and would be stoned out of my mind 😊 long story short I ended up having to repeat the class during the summer. Runners high is amazing but dont recommend it during school hrs lol
I know you guys probably don’t care but i first experiences it in year 3 when my school had a 3 km run comp every year . In one particular race , I had a “friend “ or as I thought who I saw a solid 200 metres behind me . Since I was still in year 5 I didn’t really care about my time you know like I just wanted to have a good time running wi th my mate. Everything was good and we decided to do a tie at the finish , as we approached , he suddenly sped up and started sprinting . I was furious . I had waited for him just for him to betray me . I don’t know if it was runners high or a boost or whatever but my muscles stopped hurting and I just fucking sprinted as hard as I could and beat him by 0.1 seconds to the book .
Let’s fucking go Eric!
W dubs only bro
what a dick... good for you brother lmao
I feel it almost every time. I freaking love it..
Great advice. Just keep going. The feeling of true success for each individual is EUPHORIC. 🙂
I have had it on the treadmill and you get all warm and cuddly in your chest. You head feels light and your keep telling yourself to keep going and after that I couldn’t breathe anymore and I was gasping for water. It’s an awesome feeling. 😎 I usually feel like this after 30-45 minutes of running at speed 7+
Just pretend someone is chasing behind you with a knife
That would only work if his full-on effort is about 80-90% of yours.
Otherwise, you’d be too spent or outrun him with sufficient ease; neither of which are ideal conditions for the high to catalyze.
I'm a chunky dude 5'7 205 but I have been working on my cardio for half a year and I finally got the confidence to try the treadmill and jog, and it felt AMAZING!!!
First time I decided to go for a run, I was motivated by me visualizing myself being the best football player, running straight through everybody. And I was running, the fatigue set in, my legs were exhausted, i had just finished vomiting, but I decided that the only way I was leaving the track was by me crawling back home lol.. Anyway, I kept pushing harder and harder until I felt like my legs were going to give up and BOOM! I broke through that phase and I got a burst of energy, the pain went away, and my body was lighter to the point that I was able to run about as long as I wanted too. God made the human body to be capable of doing amazing things to be honest.
If Mr. Krabs and spongebob went running:
Spongebob: *can you feel it Mr. Krabs?*
"See why faq checkers say this is false"
once a band of gopniks chased me, i ran so fast for long time but i didnt feel anything good. just happy bcz i didnt need to fight.
and i felt terrible lung pain next day. it was winter and i ran until i was breathless and got cold in the end
Yes gosh . I was feeling this before knowing it . I get high after 45 minutes jogging fast . Awesome stuff
Thought it was strange too, had to look it up
That euphoric feeling always activating when i lifting weights
I just got one on accident. It was absolutely amazing.
How to get runner's high on treadmill: Warm-up for about 5 minutes at a 3.0 - 4.0 setting. Then, begin to jog at a medium pace (setting: 5.5 - 7.5) for approx. 5 miles (8 km). Once you hit that 5 mile mark, most likely, the euphoria will flood your body and you will be able to keep pushing for a seemingly endless distance at that locked-in pace.
* I test this on myself usually once per month (I've hit a PR of 15 miles in 1 session before finally deciding to end it, and I'm not super fit).
The episode of family guy where Bryan gets a runner's high is literally almost how I achieved it i had to push true the exhaustion then it hit me and it only happened once but it wasnt like any drug I've ever done the high was close but the best high I've ever had in my life I still think about it to this day as my tolerance for weed goes up every day to where I barely feel anything no matter how much I smoke
As someone who mainly lifts and is horrible at running, watching this and reading the comments kinda set me straight.
I'm 260+ LBS but I still want to be able to run to go the distance
I'd like to drop 60LBS too because I know that'd be better on my joints
Maybe becoming a runner is the next step for me since I've lifted and became more so muscle than fat
Maybe one day I too can have a runner's high
I’m 17, 186cm and 94kg and yesterday, me and my cousin were out running because he didn’t believe I could run 8km, to be honest - I didn’t think so either.
I never gave up. Whenever I wasn’t running, I was still jogging. A kilometer until finished I got runner’s high and it felt so good. It’s as if a whole batch of adrenaline hits you like a truck, all my energy came back in a heartbeat as if I had never ran at all and I ran really fast that last kilometer. It felt amazing and I really want to experience it again because my stamina isn’t the greatest but I still felt unstoppable that last kilometer.
I think I'm feeling it, whenever I get over that initial hump where my body tells me to stop running shortly after I start. The pain goes away and you get into a rhythm and start to actually enjoy the run. Whenever I experience runner's high, I stop thinking about the run and start looking around and thinking about life and other things. It's like a general feeling of wellbeing and calm, similar to when you meditate but more intense. I've just started running though so maybe there's more once I reach a higher level.
I get it strong everytime. Lasts 5 hrs
It happened to me years ago in track 9th grade. Running the 800 meter at what felt like full sprint and couldn't be stopped 💪
I always get it when I'm swimming but I usually feel great after a good cardio exercise
I got that same high when i reached 10,000 steps walking, after that you feel that you can walk forever. Running, walking long distances and even HIIT exercises can give you runner's high! Try it!..
Um I use to do 30-40k steps everyday and never felt it
Belive me or not it's so addictive.I can't even explain how it feels its like whole other level
I've been cycling for a year and a half. I still do but a month ago my entire focus shifted to running.
I have been doing 45 minute runs for about a month now 4-5 times a week.
Had my first runners high today and it was the strangest experience of my life.
I was at about the 40 minute mark and I was running at a slightly above average pace as this was an endurance run. Almost out of breath. Legs just burning. I'm trying to still build my aerobic base.
Then it changed. I didn't even realize it at first but it slowly dawned on me that the pain and burning legs were suddenly just gone and I had my breath completely back. I felt a tingle go from my head to my feet. I was shocked. I immediately had endless energy and I literally had to make myself stop at the 50 minute mark with a huge smile on my face. No pain. Easy breathing. It was incredible.
Yes!! Just keep running
I'm going for a run!
I play tennis and running regularly , I have felt it this "high".It is like an euphoric heat inside the body that calms down every cell in your body.It can also turn your mind different. To unlock it you must do it often or everyday cause it is like a drug that wants time to take place. Many neurotransmitters can be released and work together such us dopamine , adrenaline also.I have also used drugs such as cannabis benzos etc and I know the high produced and I Compared them. After many years in experience in sports I understood that brain is made to be high ....the capabilities to be high is a state that physically exists by nature and waits to be activated.Thats why people want so much drugs cannabis cocaine etc ..they increase the signal of neurons. The euphoria high feeling is the success as response to these actions in the language of brain.Running is like a drug you can be addicted to because of above
Today was my 1st time with a runners high and i am totally going too try it tommorow to see if i get the same results!
I experienced a Runner’s HI my first time ever tonight except I am a terrible runner and I experienced it on a 40 minute exercise bike run. My heart rate was floating around 163. Pretty cool experience.
WATCHING THIS ON A RUNNER'S HIGH!! WOOOOOO!!!!!!!
I used to run a 13 mile loop in the hills 3x a week, and there was times when I would come off the high and couldn't remember most of the run. It really was a trip and in a way kinda addicting.
damn really, it's that powerful? so if i experience it i'll probably recognize that it's that what's happening?
I felt it once mildy during beginning of my usual 5k run and i felt like my legs were extremely light and moving like wheels , i felt mildly euphoric and was laughing and smiling during the whole run like 'wtf lol'
Yesterday I reached it and it was amazing. I was doing jump rope though, so I guess I got a jumper high, but it was the best thing ever.
Smoking weed and running is the best combo.
Yes man
skr skr bro I did this during the end my run which I was going hard at for like 2 hours and hit my dab pen like 6 times and it all hit at fucking once like 5 minutes later and holy shit did I feel like I was on something else, I felt insanely stoned and cozy I had to drop as soon as I got to my garage cause it was so hard standing and feeling this good.
It's called the "Jamaican Dealer", the newest Nootropic stack
Hell yeah agreed. I ate some gummies and ran 10 miles recently.
no way man. weed still constricts your lungs while your still high
When you get this feeling for the first time you know you’re doing something right
I'm a sprinter....I get so tired...45 minutes the longest I've ever made it was 17 mins for 1.5 slow jog...12.5 mins on the quick.
i used to love running in elementary school because i got runners high everytime i ran like 10 laps around the school in the runners program at 6am but then i got os and my knees just didn’t work, i was growing way too fast and my legs couldn’t keep up i was really upset because i loved running and because i stopped i hate it now but i want to start again i miss this feeling
This video is like really well done
I felt once, that one time i felt i don't want to stop running, now i can't anymore.
i find you can force it at the end of a race by suddenly increasing and maintaining the run at a fast, basically sprint speed so you can get it every time.
Yes today i Felt that after 1hr tempo run...amazing feeling. Thats why im here😂
I think I’ve had this playing soccer as a midfielder
i got this from squatting heavy on the hack squat machine. the high lasted for 3 hours.
Yesssss i smiled everytime after running at least 3k until I stopped
I have felt it.
I feel like absolute crap every time I run
The human body truly is amazing
I love this feeling.
Feeling it now baby! Woohah! Got you all in check!
After abusing alcohol for 4 months and other life situations, I can attest I enjoy the runner’s high more and being a healthy person like I use to be. I’m not a collegiate runner anymore so it’s not a competition for me anymore, just enjoyment.
For me I’m so dialed in the high just takes over. I don’t even know if I’m blink lol it’s the best feeling in the world
Music and getting high before running also helps ✌🏻
I love that feeling
exactly the reason why i miss running when i’m busy with school and work….all i can think about is my next run
Well i feelt that, i could run for 24 kilometers without any kind of pain, been even able to put some sprints in such a long distance, it feeeelsss amazing, after much pain , let's say my knee start to hurt after 1h jogging, it hurtsss hurtsss hurtssss and then , runners high'' happens and all the pain dissapire like it never been there and you feel actually like you are ,,flying'' not running it feeelsss soooo smooooothhh and kinda weird, like nothing in your body is hurting you just keep running like a freakin mashine....most beautiful feeling on earth
For all the guys who never had that feeling, little tip to get the feeling IMPORTANT SHE FORGOT TO SAY how to get it, YOU MUST RUN TO YOUR LIMIT, you must push to the limit until your leggs hurtt reallyyy bad, and then it hurts hurts hurts and after that hurt phase the pain just goes away , and you feel like fether from a bird,
Happens to me every time I run and sometimes on the elliptical. However, once I’ve gotten the high, my legs feel like jelly and I can’t keep going. It signals the end of my workout. This is not a good thing for me because I want to keep going!

is it possible i hit a runners high from interval training for 30 mins. im new to running and all i know is i felt completely at peace my head was clear. if that wasn't the runners high then the runners high after 45 mins of steady pace must be unreal
How long does the high last?
Went for a run 2nd of the year and got lost in the forestry and started to lose sense of reality and that's when I began jogging / sprinting once I found my bearings I realised I wasn't tired or aching and the adrenaline was pushing me not runner's high but an amazing feeling of be able to run and run
Was lost for around 20cto 30 mins
I hear that long distance running (100miles) and more cause a true runners high hallucinations and all ❤
Hit a runner's high last night. I didn't even know until I realized I was still running and my arms and legs were numb to the pain.
I’ve heard of research suggesting that running in a fasted state is going to enhance the runners high. It makes sense from an evolutionary perspective.
Where did you read this
Does it take 45 min usually?
Yeah I hit it pretty often. I even published a journal by the same name if I may promote... Didn't know you should load up with banana. I think caffeine is not ideal as it may dehydrate. Also I learned the hard way not to run on full stomach.
Most often I feel profound gratitude and sometimes laugh for no reason. Possibly the endocannabinoids. (I once how someone once wept after being overjoyed so much...lol).
For me it works if I absolutely overdo it and pull through lol
Best feeling in this world
No. That would be meth.
Its real and addictive but in a good way. Once you experience it you chase that high. It even helps overcome bad addictions such as alcohol or nicotine.
Finally a good exuse to start running lmao

I got my first runners high today and right when it was getting good I made a mistake and hit the stupid magnet and the whole machine cut off. I was pissed.
So basically you run very fast and turn into a good mood
New studies suggest hardly that it is not the endorphins to give you the euphoria sensation but the endocannabinoid system
I experience it after 50 minutes or so. Sudden feeling of lightness and pain diminishing. I thought I was about to get unconscious out of fatigue, that's why I had this strange feeling. But I didn't.
is it possible to get runner's high while doing other exercises like indoor cycle?
Yes if u cycle long enough to get ur heart pumping and sweat alote
Another thing you can do is the leg press. It will get you there almost every time. It works more consistently because you're stressing larger muscles.
I get it after about 6 miles if I’m putting in a decent amount of effort. I did an easyish 9 mile run a few days ago and barely got it. When I get it my vision gets all weird, there’s like a blueish tint. I feel great physically, I stop giving a fuck about anything and can run a hell of a lot faster for the rest of the run.
My vision has a yellow tint to it, did 10 mile today and got it around mile 8, felt like i was flying and vision seemed saturated
I am a big guy so i get side stitches way too early like under 10 mins. It's ruining my performance and consistency. I know it should get better overtime but is there a way to alleviate the pain while running or not to get it in the first place?
Bluto if you’re getting it, then start working out your core muscles. That is always how i got stitches and during he summer i worked on my core and havent gotten a stitch since
@@owenfranklin9809 Okay will do.. I often do abdominal exercises like 3times a week. Don't know if that's the main issue

@C II Yeah now it's subsided after a month of running and focusing on my breathing. Breathing helped a lot for me. Keep running!
