Anyway, finally starting to climb my way out of this slump and I decided to run one morning. Afterwards I felt amazing. I was worn out but I felt so much better than I have been lately.

I've hit true runner's high about 5x in my life. I used to run everyday for about 30-45 minutes, but when the runner's high hits I could go on for as much as 3hrs. The feeling was, your chest aches a bit but feels lighter, your head is spinning but you have clarity, your legs hurt but in the good way, your sides have a small ache and breathing through your mouth tastes like drinking cold water. Back then I didn't know this was called the runner's high, I called it getting "in the zone". I though I discovered it on my own, guess they beat me to it Lol.

Its honestly the best feeling i last experienced about 7 months ago when i ran 10×300 it took the 7th one for me to feel it it was cold outside but after every 300 i would jog to 100 as slow as possible bending my legs as little as i could building up adrenaline. We ran in groups every time as soon as i touched the line up ready for the seventh one i look at my coach and look at the track infront of me. I took a quick breath and there i was 50 meters front of the group, i felt no pain and got fast i finished that 300 with a time of 54sec i may not be that fast but that is the quickest I've ever ran that.

I know you guys probably don’t care but i first experiences it in year 3 when my school had a 3 km run comp every year . In one particular race , I had a “friend “ or as I thought who I saw a solid 200 metres behind me . Since I was still in year 5 I didn’t really care about my time you know like I just wanted to have a good time running wi th my mate. Everything was good and we decided to do a tie at the finish , as we approached , he suddenly sped up and started sprinting . I was furious . I had waited for him just for him to betray me . I don’t know if it was runners high or a boost or whatever but my muscles stopped hurting and I just fucking sprinted as hard as I could and beat him by 0.1 seconds to the book .

First time I decided to go for a run, I was motivated by me visualizing myself being the best football player, running straight through everybody. And I was running, the fatigue set in, my legs were exhausted, i had just finished vomiting, but I decided that the only way I was leaving the track was by me crawling back home lol.. Anyway, I kept pushing harder and harder until I felt like my legs were going to give up and BOOM! I broke through that phase and I got a burst of energy, the pain went away, and my body was lighter to the point that I was able to run about as long as I wanted too. God made the human body to be capable of doing amazing things to be honest.

How to get runner's high on treadmill: Warm-up for about 5 minutes at a 3.0 - 4.0 setting. Then, begin to jog at a medium pace (setting: 5.5 - 7.5) for approx. 5 miles (8 km). Once you hit that 5 mile mark, most likely, the euphoria will flood your body and you will be able to keep pushing for a seemingly endless distance at that locked-in pace.
    * I test this on myself usually once per month (I've hit a PR of 15 miles in 1 session before finally deciding to end it, and I'm not super fit).

I never gave up. Whenever I wasn’t running, I was still jogging. A kilometer until finished I got runner’s high and it felt so good. It’s as if a whole batch of adrenaline hits you like a truck, all my energy came back in a heartbeat as if I had never ran at all and I ran really fast that last kilometer. It felt amazing and I really want to experience it again because my stamina isn’t the greatest but I still felt unstoppable that last kilometer.

I think I'm feeling it, whenever I get over that initial hump where my body tells me to stop running shortly after I start. The pain goes away and you get into a rhythm and start to actually enjoy the run. Whenever I experience runner's high, I stop thinking about the run and start looking around and thinking about life and other things. It's like a general feeling of wellbeing and calm, similar to when you meditate but more intense. I've just started running though so maybe there's more once I reach a higher level.

I've been cycling for a year and a half. I still do but a month ago my entire focus shifted to running.
I have been doing 45 minute runs for about a month now 4-5 times a week.
Had my first runners high today and it was the strangest experience of my life.
I was at about the 40 minute mark and I was running at a slightly above average pace as this was an endurance run. Almost out of breath. Legs just burning. I'm trying to still build my aerobic base.
Then it changed. I didn't even realize it at first but it slowly dawned on me that the pain and burning legs were suddenly just gone and I had my breath completely back. I felt a tingle go from my head to my feet. I was shocked. I immediately had endless energy and I literally had to make myself stop at the 50 minute mark with a huge smile on my face. No pain. Easy breathing. It was incredible.

I play tennis and running regularly , I have felt it this "high".It is like an euphoric heat inside the body that calms down every cell in your body.It can also turn your mind different. To unlock it you must do it often or everyday cause it is like a drug that wants time to take place. Many neurotransmitters can be released and work together such us dopamine , adrenaline also.I have also used drugs such as cannabis benzos etc and I know the high produced and I Compared them. After many years in experience in sports I understood that brain is made to be high ....the capabilities to be high is a state that physically exists by nature and waits to be activated.Thats why people want so much drugs cannabis cocaine etc ..they increase the signal of neurons. The euphoria high feeling is the success as response to these actions in the language of brain.Running is like a drug you can be addicted to because of above

Well i feelt that, i could run for 24 kilometers without any kind of pain, been even able to put some sprints in such a long distance, it feeeelsss amazing, after much pain , let's say my knee start to hurt after 1h jogging, it hurtsss hurtsss hurtssss and then , runners high'' happens and all the pain dissapire like it never been there and you feel actually like you are ,,flying'' not running it feeelsss soooo smooooothhh and kinda weird, like nothing in your body is hurting you just keep running like a freakin mashine....most beautiful feeling on earth
For all the guys who never had that feeling, little tip to get the feeling IMPORTANT SHE FORGOT TO SAY how to get it, YOU MUST RUN TO YOUR LIMIT, you must push to the limit until your leggs hurtt reallyyy bad, and then it hurts hurts hurts and after that hurt phase the pain just goes away , and you feel like fether from a bird,

Happens to me every time I run and sometimes on the elliptical. However, once I’ve gotten the high, my legs feel like jelly and I can’t keep going. It signals the end of my workout. This is not a good thing for me because I want to keep going!

  • @matthewallenmiller4024

I’ve heard of research suggesting that running in a fasted state is going to enhance the runners high. It makes sense from an evolutionary perspective.

Yeah I hit it pretty often. I even published a journal by the same name if I may promote... Didn't know you should load up with banana. I think caffeine is not ideal as it may dehydrate. Also I learned the hard way not to run on full stomach.
Most often I feel profound gratitude and sometimes laugh for no reason. Possibly the endocannabinoids. (I once how someone once wept after being overjoyed so much...lol).

Another thing you can do is the leg press. It will get you there almost every time. It works more consistently because you're stressing larger muscles.

I get it after about 6 miles if I’m putting in a decent amount of effort. I did an easyish 9 mile run a few days ago and barely got it. When I get it my vision gets all weird, there’s like a blueish tint. I feel great physically, I stop giving a fuck about anything and can run a hell of a lot faster for the rest of the run.
