2004 SPECIAL REPORT: "BILL COSBY GETS TOUGH ON BLACK PEOPLE"

  • The Pound Cake speech was given by Bill Cosby on May 17, 2004 during an NAACP Legal Defense Fund awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court decision.
In the speech, which was subsequently widely disseminated and analysed, Cosby was highly critical of the black community in the United States. He criticised the use of African-American Vernacular English, the prevalence of single-parent families, perceived emphasis on frivolous and conspicuous consumption at the expense of necessities, lack of responsibility, and other behaviours.

Also, we have to stop glorifying the criminal life because we all know it's bullshit. You even got dudes over 56 years old talking crazy to guys younger than me and doing the things I have just mentioned. They just mad because they fucked up.

Two words for Mr. Cosby: Heal Thyself.

  • @BaldwinFanonGarveyTureShakurX

Ta-Nehisi killed it. His critique of Cosby is the difference between the Black intellectual and the bourgeoisie Niegreau. Most so-called Black ppl in the U.S. are in fact colonized Niegreaux, so Cosby is a wealthy Niegreau discussing poor Niegreaux. Black ppl should steer clear of Niegreaux of any class, as Cosby has shown he is the type to "Talk Black and sleep white." Typical Niegreau behavior
