Subscribed about a week ago and I heard you mention multiple times the interest in doing a light gun steam deck video. I would love to see it. It would open the door to playing (properly) a lot of games like Virtua Cop, Time Crisis, House Of The Dead, the one you showed here and a ton of others (Saturn, PSX, PS2 and DC have quite some cool light gun games). And thanks for the *system* on steam deck series. I already have a lot of stuff working following your videos, for me the goal for the steam deck was to finally play pc games in a more convenient way (I'm a console gamer) and finally have a portable system that has no issues (hardware-wise, as you said, some emulators are not just there yet) to play naomi, arcade and PS2 games, that's the big thing with this for me. Looking forward for your next video of this series.
It was the year 2000 and my sisters boyfriend came over with a Dreamcast; now this was the second time I'd seen a Dreamcast as my friend at the time has a dad who worked in Japan and brought one over with Shenmue (which of course blew my tiny kid mind) However, the 2nd time I saw the Dreamcast it was hooked up to my TV and he had a game... Dead or Alive 2. I must have looked like one of those kids in a 90s gaming commercial because my eyes were as wide as dinner plates and my jaw was on the floor. The game looked 'perfect' if that makes any sense. So smooth both in gameplay and graphics; I'd never seen a game at the time where I thought to myself "how could this look any better?" There was no obvious flaws. Now, as much as I love emulation, I have to say that for some reason Dreamcast/NAOMI games just don't look right on anything but a CRT (to me personally). I have a Steam Deck and I love it and I've played tons of PS2 games on there and they look great. But even now, playing Dreamcast on a CRT is just so much better and honestly looks incredible. I remember showing my friend Shenmue running on my Bang and Olufsen MX4000 and they looked just as blown away as I did back in 2000. However I have to say thank you for the video because now I am going to check out MILLENNIUM edition on my Steam Deck :3
I have a pretty full NAOMI set on my Deck (excluding the games that are not playable due to not having traditional controls) and there are some great games on there.
really nice. Any ideas of making a model 3 on steam deck video tutorial? I think that would be the cherry on the cake. I miss segas big arcade time. Very surprised these games run so well on the deck, time to sell my naomi hardware.

@@VideoGameEsoterica Maybe it's just my VRR screen. But i'm getting smooth frame rate without stutters. The ones in the video look very intense/heavy but maybe it's the recording?
Oh! Also in regards to the sound for DOA2; I remember that even recently on Dreamcast over my CRT, the sound is incredibly punchy, so I dont think its emulation as much as the sound levels of the game itself are just boosted for arcade accuracy. But I could be wrong ha

Hi, how did u make it to work on lightgun games? Tried with confidential mission changing the input to mouse, lightgun and even the controller itself and the trigger buttons work but the aim not
Is there a why to get chd games to work with Flycast on Steamdeck? Seems only roms that seem to work are the self contained compressed. Zip files files. Any. Chd for Naomi 2 just don't load after importing in Steam rom manager and trying to launch. The chd files have long names with region and version info and aren't clean like Naomi 1 roms which are simple short zip file names

Looking for more simpler. Zip format. I was reading a bit on this and some sets require a. Zip to go with corresponding. Chd which should be in respectively named subfolder with same name as the zip. But why don't they include both files in the romset which would make sense. Lol

Street Fighter Zero 3 Upper was unique to the Naomi as well I think; six characters from the home console versions as well as some balance changes.

It should auto bind to mouse. Reset the config and see if that helps
