I have read Krushnamurty jyotish Rahasya. It is written in Marathi. It has Nirayan Ayamnash table to decide the small periods. This table is used with Time accuracy for Janma Lagna Shuddhi and death time. Written by Suresh Shahasane, the book has such examples which saves your times and gives logic. You are very very close to same. There are Marak and Badhak planets, and dasha Antardasha and Vidasha that can be taken using ruling planets. There are many ridiculous questions solved from it. Please think over using ruling planets.
