And this without testing waypoints or follow me. Yes the video is “better” in the Mini 2SE, but honestly unless you are looking r to do something professional the Potensic seems the better overall feature for value option. You really aren’t losing much in my opinion.

I tested the follow me a little in my latest video it was actually very good. I struggled to get it to lose me! I can't believe it works that good. It's just a shame it can't track from the front of you and fly backwards. 👍

With a 3-axis gimbal, the Atom is in direct competition money wise, with the Min2 SE. It seems as if, for a few dollars more, the logical choice would be the Mini2 SE. We'll wait and see how they compare. Thanks for doing this.

Thanks for your Potensic Atom with 3 axis reviews. I’m currently debating between it and the DJI mini 2 se. For the some budget you get a lot more on paper with the potensic. However, I’m concerned about how good the app is going to be, future support from the company, and hardware support for when I crash it. I feel like I can trust DJI with these things because they’re established. You also mentioned the mini 2 se has a bigger sensor, have you noticed if it outperforms the atom in colors?
Well, potensic do firmware updates just the last update, they have added digital zoom, timed shots, and silent return. As for hardware support I think they have a service centre. Though you can buy just the drone (no battery or remote) for £180 on their website and Amazon. I wouldn't worry about crashing it they are very hard to crash! I've not yet noticed much video quality difference between the 2 yet. I need to make a video comparing the video quality side by side.
I have a ATOM and can tell you firsthand that their customer support is OUTSTANDING!! I've emailed them multiple times about concerns or just questions and they are extremely helpful. They even added a feature in the latest firmware update that I requested. if that's not good customer service to add a feature based on a customer reccomendation then Idk what is lol

Good comparo Robin. The "Interval timer shooting" new feature is just timed photos at 1, 3, 5 seconds. In camera settings, they are calling it: "seg. rec." - that's not really obvious to a casual/amateur pilot, but new features always welcome. Marcus at Idaho Quadcopter is still suffering signal issues, primarily video breakup at a few hundred feet. I think Potensic should replace his drone, but they seem willing to get all that negative publicity, instead of replacing that one aircraft. Go figure! Yours is doing much better!
no, you are wrong, I tried it, I can take a continuous series of photographs at each specified time interval when in interval timer shooting mode. The "seg. rec." in the camera setting is not interval shooting
The Interval Timer Shooting Mode is actually a new feature compared to the segmental recording that you mentioned. You can take photographs at the selected interval from 2s to 30s and later you can use the photos to create a time-lapse video using some computer software. While with the segmental recording you record each video for a certain duration of time per your choice. So completely different concepts. FYI:czcams.com/video/bNy7LvJFTNQ/video.html
Yes, some good new features they have added, I have just tested all of the features and will post a video soon. Yes, I've watched Marcus video it's mad that Potensic hasn't reached out to him to get his drone looked at. Clearly, something is wrong with it. Yes, mine seems fine. I had it flying in sports mode earlier, flying in a fast s pattern, and the gimbal horizon was rock steady and it didn't even knock the gimbal down at all!

So you can see the drone from further away in the daytime, and best to use them if your flying at night 😉

They don't as the weight of the Atom and mini 2 se are 243g that's one of benefits of these over the mini 3 pro, 4 pro 😉

Thank you Robin for the excellent and informative video! A question: Have you or any of your viewers manage to find a little bit longer cable for connecting controller with a tablet? I purchase an extra tablet holder made for Fimi drones, that works perfect, BUT the provided cable is short!! Potensic says to me that the cable is made by them, so i will not find anything that works in the market.. Any ideas before i do "reverse engineering" to existing cable? Thank you very much again!

Unfortunately you can't! "If you want to transmit data, you can't buy long cables that meet the specifications on the market, this cable is produced by ourselves. I am so sorry." That was the answer of Potensic, to the mails that send about the issue.. So, "reverse engineering" to existing cable, is the only way i think.. Thank you very much anyway Robin for your time!!
I'm coming back here for update about my(?) problem. So, FYI, the solution to connect a tablet with remote, due to short provided cable from Potensic, is a 0.5 m long USB 3.0 Cable USB-C male - USB-C female extension, that connects the angled phone connector of original cable, to phone. All works fine.
Paid $350 for the fly more bundle for the ATOM and got three batteries. Each battery lasts a full 30 minutes. So a total of 1.5 hours. I never fly more than 1 hour so 3 batteries is overkill lol, never used all three at once. Fly more bundle for the DJI is nearly $500
Yep I feel the same. The price is so good I paid £314 for the fly more combo.
It's £439 for the mini 2 se fly more combo.
I originally bought the Atom for £229 but sent that back as I needed another battery, and that would have taken the price close to the fly more combo! Such a good price for the Atom!

Hi Robin, I don't know anything about drone and UAV, I want to learn everything about drones from scratch , since drone pilot seems to be one of the promising careers in future!. I could do a few videos about this, but honestly these types of gps drone are so easy to fly let go of the sticks and they will just hover.

I would say they are easier than riding a bike.
FPV drones are different though they take a lot of skill to fly.

Of course, it related to budget. But why compare the new Potensic with a drone brought on the market 2021? The Mini 2 SE is based on the DJI Mini 2 and was even cut with some feautures. The video quality should be better with the Potensic because the SE only is capable for 2,7k instead of 4k. But i would pretend in two years you could sell and still get some money out of the DJI because the overall value is better with this brand.
I feel it's a good comparison because you can still buy currently both the mini 2 se and the atom. And they are both at a similar price. Yes the Atom is 4k but has a smaller sensor than the mini 2 se. Yes, I agree with the resale value of the dji, but the atom has more features, so it's a tough pick between the 2 for new drone pilots.

First you have to download the update to the app from the playstore or apple store. Then when you power up the drone it will do the firmware update 👍

Yes if feels well made and is more comfortable and lighter than the dji.
But it's missing some buttons a function button and a cine, Normal,sport button.
The worst thing about it is the fact it doesn't store the cable like the dji, it's super annoying 😒

So when I got the Atom, I knew it wouldn't be as good as the mini 2 se. But it's better than I thought 🤔
It's currently £30 cheaper than the dji and has the extra features of tracking and waypoints. If I could only buy one of them right now, then I would pick the....

Mini 2 se seems to have a better image on the controller. The controller is better as it has a few more buttons. Image quality should be better (but I still need to test this in good lighting)
Atom is cheaper, and again, it has tracking and waypoints and no geo fencing, but that doesn't bother me at all.
Oh yes, the trusty firmware update... thanks for reminding me why I hate flying drones...

the most worrying part of DJI drone, when I fly in China. It cannot take off , becasue you need to register, etc you need a sim card identy, registration, etc.. oh that is terrible
How about with Potensic as it doesn't have Geo fencing?

@@RobinDrones Want to know what works? My €130 drone with follow-me. No obstacle avoidance. I have sensors in my head.
I can write a whole book about why DJI's active-track doesn't work in real life. Nobody uses it. They either fly the drone manually with the sticks, or use follow-me with for example Litchi or Maven or Dronelink. Those apps do not work YET with the DJI Mini 2 SE until DJI releases the sdk. .
But hey, if you ever decide to try it for yourself then let me know. I'm kinda the expert on follow-me. I've yet to see a single drone reviewer who understand how it can and should work. Very few drones do it right.
Not that I am against active track and obstacle avoidance. It can do things follow-me can't. But if you're on a bike trip the feature is really annoying. Why Potensic is trying to be 'cool' as DJI to go active-track instead of improving follow-me I have no idea. They probably have no idea either.
