I have had a bad experience with my the Metro Rail horn: I was walking down the ramp at Wardlow station while a southbound P2000 train was leaving right next to me, it stopped for a car that had stopped on the wrong sine of the crossing gate. Before it moved, it suddenly honked the high horn and I was startled to death! It was so loud since it was so close!
@Albert Carello The Red Line Breda A650 cars have the same sound as the original Pacific Electric. I hope that the new CRRC HR4000 series that will replace the Breda A650 in the future will have that same horn sound.
@@flattrain5834 All the LRV’s have speakers set to a loud volume making it not equivalent to a airchime. However the original P865’s airhorn seems to be the loudest horn an LRT has had
My favorite noise on the LA metro is the melodic howl made by the brakes of the Breda subway cars pulling into the station.

@@flattrain5834 The Red Line's Breda A650 trains will be replaced by the new CRRC HR4000 cars very soon.
@Albert Carello Let's hope that the new HR4000 cars from CRRC can have the original Pacific Electric horn. Let's just hope so.
Yeah! That’s pretty cool. I hope the new hr4000s have the high horn and the PE whistle!
What is an hr4000?
1:40 So Relaxing!
The low horn on the A650’s are actually air whistles.
Yes they are real horns not speakers!

Kinkisharyo P3010 1111 is now running the A Line Blue
The dc metro uses the same horn as the Breda A650 which is the Nathan p3

What are horns and bells of light rails are called for LAMTA and other light rail service?
Most light rail horns are just speakers. The Nippon sharyo p865/2020 has a wch 0555 bell and a new cast p #3 bell on standby
@@flattrain5834 But I mean what they're called, ik they're speakers, but what they're also called?
The name of the speakers or what they call the specific sound?
@@flattrain5834 Something like that
I say the certain sound in the captions. That’s what they actually call them. I don’t know the name of the speaker
Are all these sounds and flashing lights based because of regulations? It seems pretty obnoxious for light rail.
They are required for a horn at minimum, the flashing lights are not required.
R.I.P P865
which light rail system has the loudest horn?
Definitely the Breda A650s.
Medium Approach Medium Productions that’s a subway vehicle not a LRT vehicle
The Breda horns are Nathan airchime horns, they would beat a speaker any time
Definitely the P3010

What is the actual name of these horns and who makes them?
Interstate Railfan they are speakers. The p2020 low gong is a wrrs/wch 0555 motor bell
@@flattrain5834 The horn of the Breda A650 heavy rail subway cars are reminiscent of the old Pacific Electric rail cars.
@John Williams The P3010 trains have the same horns as the original P865 trains.
I like the P3010
