Erling Haaland will move from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City this summer, in what will surely be one of the biggest transfers this year.
But how did it come about? Why did he not sign for Real Madrid? What impact did the death of Mino Raiola have on the transfer?

Haaland in an already very good Man City scares me. As a Southampton fan, I am not looking forward to him bashing in a cheeky hat trick every time he plays against us.
Southampton need a really solid transfer window or I can see youse going down next year. Not gonna write youse off, but honestly that new ownership needs to do something.
next season :
man city 0 - 0 Southampton 😑
Julian Alvarez is not bad either.

First, he learned how to write when he was a boy. Then he became a footballer and, years later, took a pen and used his writing skill to put his name on a paper. That's how he signed for Man City.
no way he learned how to write??????
WRONG
He learned how to read first
Wrong he learned to listen first
Don't forget that due to his height, it's necessary for him to be cautious when writing. He might get injured easily.
I like that Haaland is safeguarding his future. Knowing that he could be injury prone due to his height +athleticism. In a Pep team he doesn’t have to play every minute, helps him with longevity
Ronaldo has played almost his career and is not injury prone at his age....
@@alusojr019 wow, are you really looking at the exception to the rule and trying to make it the norm? Ronaldo is very much an exception and it’s due to the fact that when he was about Haaland age he took similar measures. Everyone remember Ronaldo putting away the Coca Cola during the Euros but people forget he used to promote coke in his early twenties.
@@alusojr019 it’s not by chance that Ronaldo is the way he is he has natural strengths but improved them by spending millions on his body, diet health and mind. He is a calculated and disciplined individual. Doesn’t even drink alcohol because of his fathers death. Remember football has also massively increased since Ronaldo was in his early 20’s now there’s Euefa Nations league and so many more games. All I was doing is highlighting the intelligence of Haalands move. As an athlete you need to know how to push yourself but also knowing your limits remember they are human too. Go listen to Rio Ferdinand sometimes he couldn’t get out of bed in his 40’s because of pushing himself to hard during his career. And in your 20’s and 30’s you be fine but there’s life after football if your lucky pro football is only half of your working life span.
@@alusojr019 Ronaldo stopped working hard for the team years ago. Teams were correctly built around making sure Ronaldo was as close to the oppositions goal as possible and making others do the heavy lifting. He also has a completely different body type to Haaland. Haaland is much bigger and more physical.
You're smart
As a neutral, yes Haaland is a great signing but I'm more excited so see how Alvarez will do. If what Tifo said is to be believed then Alvarez would get his fair share of game time should Pep feels the need to rest Haaland.
Nice photo BAD FALLEN
You should not get your hopes too high, at least in the beginning. Alvarez will undergo a great switch from the Argentinian league straight to the UK. Normally players like him first play in Spain, Portugal, Italy to help with their transition. There's a piece precisely about this on The Athletic.
Alvarez will be benching heavy with Haaland there. Unfortunately I think Alvarez arrived a season too late. He would’ve fit nicely into city’s playstyle this season but they’ll definitely change for the next.
“More excited to see Alvarez then haaland” I’m sure you people say things like this to seem different
Alvarez can play off the wings aswell
Wanna see alvarez x haaland link up
So basically Halaand chose city because of work life balance. I can feel his pain, long working hour, less holidays..Not a bad decision by him
:)

Plot twist:
that really is the car that Guardiola drives around Manchester
City has so many players that makes incredible assist‘s and having a pure striker in the squad will make them even more scary especially if that striker is erling haaland
You forgot to mention the obvious factor that would have tempted him. His connection with the club. His dad who played for the club. Him himself being in the away end for one of Citys UCL games, him being at Wembley for the league cup final. Defintely played a part
Could we get a video on Eintracht Frankfurt and the recent winning of the UEFA League Cup? I think this would be an incredible interesting and rich topic to explore.
How the Gers got there too, I wouldn't have out them in my top 10 to make it to EUFA finals either
Yeah, that would be nice!
What was really really weird to me, is that their defeat against Chelsea in the quarter-finals, was in 2019. Three f**kin' years ago.
In my mind it felt like it was just one or two years ago and I saw this as a comeback.
I hope I'm not getting demented!
Their win was well deserved, considering their way into the final.
Well, it would've been deserving for both as they had to play against UCL drop-outs like, Barca and Dortmund.
Rangers road to the final is lightyears more interesting than Frankfurts.
City are really lucky to have Pep as their manager. Top top bloke
We know and we grateful
**lucky to have Rich owners who can provide him anything
His ideology is pretty good, it is perfectionism. That's why he is always asked for everything. Something that requires so much work is almost impossible to keep consistent for an entire year. I would say that not even his Barca was the one he wanted. It was good but definitely not the utopia of Cryuffism. The Utopia of Cryuffism is constant and light quick analysis of each play and also the same with the execution, that requires brilliant players on their 100% of their concentration. City is definitely lucky to have him.
That's true dont know how Jurgen klopp got manager of the month he was crab but city won the premier league so it make sense why he'll get it

Liverpool need a true number 9 of their own if you really think about it. Firmino and jota are good but not the arrow that pierces through all armor like haaland, mbappe, benzema, and two other players who we all know. Most of the best teams to win the UCL and other leagues have that

Gonna be a sad day at Elland Road when City play Leeds next season and he bangs a few past us.

For some reason I think Kane would be a better fit with the way City play. Haaland seems very direct when I see him & City don't really need such a centre forward.
He be better at Madrid or Bayern I think
You cant rely on wingers for yet another season.. look how close the premier league battle was despite city being 14 points clear of liverpool half way through the season
@@manwhotookatit5666 No you can't but I've always thought of most Pep forwards as no 10s more than no 9s. And I'd see Haaland as more of a 9. true. with Haaland speed, the opponents now have very little time to regroup and to create a low block.
Lol
He is highly welcome to the winning team! I hope he properly adapts to the system.
Simply brilliant work !!!
I think after Raiola has gone, things are easier to settle now.
He was made for the Premier league! Big , smart and know both the positions to get into and knows where the goal is. If and that's a big if he stays at city he will smash all records. Alan shearer who?
Man City will be the top dog in the league for years.
I wonder what his FPL price would be,i would guess 12.5 i cant see him being more than Kane but i wouldnt be surprised if they price him at 13.0 because he plays for City.Problem with Haaland in FPL is like this video mentioned he might get rested in easier games especially when champions league starts and those are the game you will want to captain him, nothing worse than having a 13.0 player who gets benched for a home game against Leeds and City win 6-0.
I can picture Riyad or walker on the wing passing back to KDB and he whips an early cross from the right and Haaland Airlines meets the ball and it's in the back of the net.

Despite his style being different to City's, it made financial sense to see if he'd adapt and keep him away from rivals. He'd have been devastating for them at Liverpool in PL or the CL for Real, the trophy they are desperate for.
the convincing part is actually very sensible
City was smart for investing in a big game player they needed someone up to lead the attack like augero did and hes perfect plus his dad played for city 🤩

I think Real is too obsessed with Mbappe. Also, Karim and Vinicius are both really good at the moment, so they didn't pursue Haaland like they did Mbappe. I am fairly certain Mbappe will move to Real after his 3 years contract with PSG expires.
This is why City is so successful from u13 to u23 academy B team and Senior team they spent spend and work way different from many team like Man untd and Barcelona I just my love my club 💙

Interesting. This could be interpreted as City lost the battle but winning the war.
Power balance is shifting against La Liga now. Perez needed to sign him to reinvigorate Real's marketing output and with Mbappe rejecting Real recently, the team is now basically carried by Benzema and Courtois.
I wonder how long their luck would last with Ancelotti's lack of depth. If they failed, La Liga might be entering another dark age with Barcelona and Atleti crippled.

@@spinegod1242 delusional, what about the billion dollar debt.

@@fintanboyle5501 More accurately, they have little depth, at least by how Ancelotti plays.
How on earth did Dortmund only get a 60 million buy out clause? Probably to sway him to choose them but still, 60 seems so low and surely most teams would have still paid a buy-out for 80-100 million for sure and it wouldnt have closed doors to any teams who wanted him right? Every big club could have and still would havem made an effort. Usually setting a high buy-out creates fears that the players options will be more narrow, but the only clubs eying Haaland would have been able to afford that right? Just seems so low imo. I guess 60 million is better than nothing but still.
Can you make a video on what contes plans are for this summer for spurs? How will he prepare Tottenham for UCL football and what signings will he go for?
I love how city plan things. So organized, well-structured, and coherent down to the nitty bitty. A beautiful organization that shows Money isn’t everything.

Plenty of other excellently run clubs that aren't bankrolled by state wealth. It'd be more shocking if they weren't fabulously run.

Nottingham Forest will win the 2022/23 Premier League season anyway.
wouldn't be surprised if pep puts haaland on the wing like what he did to zlatan, so his little guy, foden, can play as the center forward.
Pep would be nuts to move Haaland out of position......(again) he should at least give Haaland a season before pulling such a move.
4:36 may be the best drawing in this channel's history
Interesting how you didn't mention Mbappe and Benzema in his prime overshadowing Haaland as was reported by others
I think the most important reason halaand is not joining real is bcoz perez went all in on mbappe which unfortunately fell through,he is 21 and in future he will surely come to madrid.
the thumbnail looks like the only exposure to human life the artist had was jersey shore, would fit right in
I think he'll score a ton of goals being in that system but I dont see them getting better ironically. Maybe more versatile in terms of options of play, but his game is so raw beyond finishing and making runs that I don't see how there wont be growing pains for at least a season or two. Dortmund scored 81 goals in the season before Haaland arrived, then 84, 75, and 85 in the following seasons. I think the main reason behind the deal is his potential, brand recognition, and the eventual capitalization of his eventual sale to Madrid in 3-4 years time.

Guys, please make a video on the story of how Eintracht Frankfurt won the Europa League!
But guys. We (Real Madrid) couldn't really sign Halaand, not now anyways, because of Benzema's astronomical form, and of course Halaand is not a player you buy to spend time on the bench. So I feel like that's also part of the reason Halaand joined City, Real's faltering interest... for now.
Please do a video on Hugo ekitike going to Newcastle United. Is he the next Mbappe or is he gonna be NUFCs "Robinho" signing 🤔?
Real should have gone for Haaland instead of just expecting mbappe will keep his word and come to real madrid
He should have joined Liverpool as Klop develops player but with Guardiola there are some question marks as he strives for immediate impact. Sancho did not live up to the expectations and it may be similar with Haaland as both coming from Bundesliga which may be not competitive like Premier League.
Saying pep doesn’t develop players is criminal 😂

I have absolutely no idea how Haaland's play will fit with the Guardiola system.. I never thought he could play for City
All he needs to do is get on the end of crosses in and around the six yard box and receive crosses from KDB and Grealish. He is also mastered the skill of dragging defenders out of position and capitalizing on this.
