Amazing feeling just looking at you - at this age in your life you are able to accomplish everything, digging holes, planting, - all by yourself.
I wish I had a space like this where I could grow and stuff - but here in the city, we have a very limited life.

A couple 5 gallon buckets and you can grow a couple things and still get the therapeutic value and get to eat/ learn. Look for co ops in your city where like minded people share ideas, work and harvest. You can do this.
I live in the city and guerilla garden all over the place on abandoned and unused land. It doesn't stop me.

Interesting, but I think the roots will search for the water and so they will go to left/right side of the central point of plant. The water should be distributed in all the nutrition surface of the plant. When you end the season, just substract a plant and make a photo or a video❤️. Take care, work with bless🙏

The water distributes quite widely once theres a leak. Anyone who already had a leak in their water pipe will know it 🙈
Dude I have large pots sit inside of a flooding table and the entire pot ends up becoming moist even though I don't ever water from the top. All the water just soaks up from the bottom and distributes throughout the entire pot.
The fact is this tutorial doesn't take account about Pascal's hydrostatic principle ; stating you need a 10 meters high water column to neutralize atmospheric pressure since the top of the column is air tight. When he closes the water bottle with a lid, he's exactly exposing this situation. That's why he's filling the bottles once burried ; to hide the fact water can't flow out from the bottle. This presentation is fake & inducing people in error. They probably connected a hose at the hole and made another tiny hole in the lid to help balance outside's & inside's pressures. Or unscrewed the lid a little bit.
Another aspect is when using a wick, a capillarity effect will cause water to be attracted to a dry area (sponge effect) and if the lid remains closed ; the water level drop will cause vacuum in the bottle that will start to collapse gradually through atmospheric's pressure action.
The solution is to place an air intake valve allowing air to come in to balance both aerial pressures ; but not allowing air to get out when it is expanding during heat periods, because this allows higher water flow rate at the wick.

Thank you for sharing. I like this idear. More so the idear for watering. We losted all our cucumber plants last year. Someone came in and cut them . So got new ones but,we're not sure if it was the way we watered them. So maybe try your way.
