- A 300-year-old town in the northern Philippines has resurfaced after it was submerged for the construction of a reservoir 50 years ago. A drought which has lasted for months and extreme heat in recent weeks have caused water in the dam to dry up.
Al Jazeera's Barnaby Lo reports from the ruins of Pantabangan.

This is also a sign that our country will experience a much harsher rain this coming wet season 😢
Cemetery too?? Oh!
I recall that video in Thailand(?) where flooding occurred over a cemetery. The coffins / caskets had trapped air inside them so they floated up and floated away with the flood leaving behind their unearthed graves with perfectly deep rectangle shape. Creepy.
They moved the bodies first as far as I know
i was shocked when the whole area resurfaced because ofthe extreme drought this year cause since 74 it never really reached this low ever this is the very first time, the past extreme droughts only shown the area around the chapel but as you can see on the video almost the whole pantabangan was visible even the part near the original small river on the side of pantabangan is showing up
I think of how the old folks of the centuries old town go around with their daily business.
Steps to prevent global warming.
1. NO fire crackers specially in new years eve
2. NO black smokes in vehicles
3. NO burning of tires and wheels
4. NO burning of garbage.
5. Plant more trees.
1 - No manufacturing plants.
2 - No car industries
3 - No airplane factories
1 -No eating
2 -No drinking
3- No breeding to reduce carbon footprint
I think we should focus more on the corporate carbon footprint rather than the single person carbon footprint. Kurzgesagt has a video about this.
@@troy4298that's not what they're saying but if you're this retarded, it's probably for the best that you take your own advice
So basically
1. NO China
2. NO Russia
3. NO US
4. NO UAE
5. NO South Korea
6. NO Japan
7. NO UK
By the end of the month It will start to rain... Its something so... Common to us and we can tolerate... Until the rain will come.
yes i was gonna comment the same thing. but i also watched the indian water harvesting method. it looks applicable here in the philippines. its a good source of water for the farms when draught season comes.
unfortunately it will be delayed due to elnino the trend suggest the rain will come around end of june not in may,,
We’ve been drinking water from……
The rich people enjoy causing suffer in others
its global warming dumbass
Did you ask them? So negative comment.
@@mr.RAND5584 they mean rich countries who contributing a lot on climate change
You are correct. The dream of the oppressed -- is to become the oppressor.
Wouldn't you like to be rich someday?
What is the point of being rich -- if you can't oppress anybody?
@@Noyaaaaaaaaaaadude lets not act like 3rd world countries don’t contribute a lot to pollution….and are stubborn to change for the better.
Put solar panel pads over the water. You will generate energy, and also, by covering the water, stop a lot of the evaporation.
It aint that simple kid
ahehehe sarap maging bata.
Need to choose leaders who will cut defend budget and channel the fund to fight or tame climate challenges.
Lol masyado ng napabayaan ang defense natin kaya malakas loob ng mga chinese na pumunta mismo sa malapit satin. Wag ka magsalita na di mo alam ang nang yayari.

You can thank Taylor Swift for this.
Ay bakit, siya ba ang may kontrol sa weather? 🙃

Philippines can set more funds on building dams to be more prepare for the drought seasons every 5-6 hrs. We have a lot of hurricane and floods on the other years. The government needs to prioritize this as current dam system is not enough anymore

Just subbed to your channel. But please keep it in yo pants ma guy 😂
Yeah so handsome😊❤

dont worry too much people. yes we are experiencing draught. yes crops have failed to yield. its a yearly thing. the govt already had back up food supply. WE ALL NEED TO ADAPT. WE ARE GOOD AT THAT!
i suggested copying what the indian villagers did to harvest rainwater on their land and farms. we watched the videos. it looks promising.
only thing stopping us are... a few mayors and a few brgy captains who wants credit and money from this project. lol. i mean we dont even know how effective this is to the philippine climate and landscape. we'rer not making any money. we just only watched the Indian water harvesting method! but the leaders just dont get it. hahay!
its not Elnino, its a weather manipulation changing air pressure everywhere. energy generated by the sun...
Philippines is dying.
you mean the earth?
Yeah it is world wide.
So scumbag and useless Westoids who don't know anything but to vlog should stop going here.
Hindi lang Pinas po.
everyone dies. XDXD
False :"DATI ANG NAKIKITA LANG NAMIN IS THE CROSS.. (in the past we only see the cross)..". Nope
The cemetery and a large part of the old town also appeared last year..and if im not mistaken, even last last year or a year before that and then another number of years before that..😜 it is not a regular happening but its also not abnormal as the report wants to portray.
Haisst.
comprehension...
RIP to your comprehension
what does this have to do with Gaza?
😂😂😂
it's Al Jez. They can do whatever.
@@Just4KixsExactly. They report lots of interesting news.
What kind of a question is that?
Your mind is all about war. If you want war go drafted.
Al Jazeera: See how Allah punishes infidels with droughts for not supporting Gaza and Hamas 😂😂
This actually happens every now and then, lol! The Pantabangan dam will be filled again with water once the rainy season comes in June as what happens every year. Btw, the Philippines supports the cease fire in Gaza! The Philippines voted many times in support for the UN resolution calling for the immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
One would argue that it is Gaza that's being punished by Allah right now.
Gaza is being punished by allah dumbass
Its has nothing to do with Gaza nor Hamaz. Palestine has been a sinner even during the biblical days.
SEE HOW ALLAH IS PUNISHING GAZA AND THE PALESTINIANS FOR STARTING A WAR AND UNTIL NOW THEY'RE LOSING THE WAR. HOW PATHETIC.
That happens because of corruption, Philippines is reach in water but the problem is corruption billions of pesos being corrupted instead of spending them to add more DAM and improved irrigation system to minimise the effects of El Nino, that's why from 1970s same problem up to now the Filipinos always suffering the droughts when El Nino hits the Philippines
