So how do you pay for the thing? Like when do you stuff? I tried doing my budget this way but it doesn't make since cause I end up having to pay bills right away with it so it doesn't stay in the envelope. Do you like stuff for the next month? Do you stuff on payday? When do you pay for this stuff with what you stuffed? Idk im just confused about that

I stuff every time I get paid which is biweekly. I have two paychecks before every bill is due so that’s why I stuff half of a bill payment with one paycheck, and the other half of the bill with another paycheck.
I do this because I don’t want to take out $107 for internet from just one paycheck, that’s a huge amount compared to splitting it in half and using two paychecks.
For example, our internet bill is $107. $53 will get stuffed from one paycheck and then $54 will get stuffed from the second paycheck. Then the internet bill is due so I go to the ATM to deposit that cash and the bill is automatically paid from my checking account. All of my bills have 2 paychecks before the due date (except for rent since it’s such a huge amount, it has 4: 2 paychecks from me and 2 from my boyfriend so we stuff 1/4 of the rent each payday instead of 1/2).
It’s different for everyone based on when you get paid and which bills are due in the pay period.
It can be tricky to start but I recommend using a calendar to see when your paydays are and what bills are due in the month so you can see what bills need to be covered with each paycheck. Do you get paid weekly, biweekly, or monthly?
