HI GIRLS!!!! my chubby girl tip of the day..................... when your craving something sweet, sounds goofy.... brush your teeth..... see i told you it sounds goofy but tooth paste is sweet and when you brush your teeth you don't really want to eat. try it... what can happen? oh yeah get skinny and have good teeth. Right on. Thank you. I've been doing this since 2005, I could write a book of the ups and downs, the attitude adjustments, the crashes and getting back up, etc. I thought at one point I could have desserts I craved every day, as long as they were keto. I gained 20 lbs doing that. You learn in the end, you have to say no to yourself, you have to quit feeling deprived when in truth, you are not... you have to focus on all the wonderful food you CAN eat, not on what will destroy you.

Funny, one of my biggest “say no’s” is to sitting around relaxing. My exercise aversion is probably what has largely caused me to be unable to manage carbs and become insulin resistant. Since eating Keto, I’ve found I’d I say no to sitting around for 20 minutes or more a day, do some biking or something, I lose weight easier. 64 years old and finally getting the connections.

I so agree. Hubby and I started keto nearly 5 months ago. He does the cooking, and would continue to make rice, pasta etc for our teens to add in to what we were eating. Finally I said, if you think carbs aren’t healthy, why would you want to feed them to the kids? Guess what, the teens are all happy eating keto! It’s heaps of delicious, whole food, and they don’t ask where the pasta is!

I just want to state first that I HATE fasting, but man, is it effective at giving proper perspective and breaking carb addiction. Before a fast if I’m not enjoying my normal keto staples and I’m resenting those around me who get to eat the all the fun stuff, a good 24-36 hours without food will remind me how delicious those staples are.

I’ve been on and off keto over the last 4 years. I started back and am eating good proteins and keto veggies. Omad. After I got fat adapted my cravings went completely away. I find the keto replacement treats and snacks are just a gateway to giving in to the real thing. So I avoid them. Is it easy? Nope. But like these awesome twins say, it gets easier. When friends want to eat out I request a steakhouse. So many delicious keto friendly options that I’m not tempted to stray. Take me to an Italian or Mexican restaurant, forget about it. Also in potluck outings or bbqs, bring some keto friendly snacks and fill your plate thoughtfully. Easier to stay the course if you’re surrounded by non keto foods but have a satisfied tummy. It’s hard sometimes. If it wasn’t, everyone would be doing it. But your strong determined and completely in control of your journey. Y’all got this!

Keto 101: How do you overcome cravings? Say No!
That is way more powerful than people realize. I do still use substitutes for some things, but they are more used as treats, not as an every day. I just hit 100 pounds lost yesterday and I love eating this way. I won't say I don't have fat bombs, or ice cream, or keto pizza from time to time, but that's not my every day. For me saying no also sometimes requires me to be prepared. Sometimes that means taking foods I know that can sustain me through the day, and sometimes it is just the mental preparation of saying no. Either way, I still find being prepared can help in a lot of situations...especially when first starting.
Congrats on 30K! I hope you're both having an amazing week! 😊🧡

I have kids, and they eat what I fix. Parents need to be okay with telling their kids no. From the beginning, when my kids would say "I won't eat/don't want that" my answer was "OK. We'll eat again tomorrow morning (at lunch/at dinner)" and that was it. My kids never expected a separate meal...and they knew that eating or not was completely their choice. The control was theirs. Fix your keto dinner, and they will eat it if they are hungry. If not, they won't starve to death between meals. 🙂

You summed it up perfectly. Saying no takes practice and gets easier after a few months. The muscle builds. I still want donuts, but I think about the bloating and lethargy that always follows. Some cravings don't serve our wellness goals. I stop and ask myself, "How will this make me feel tomorrow? And how will this habit make me feel in a few years if I never quit/start?" Giving in to sugary food cravings hasn't served me, but denying them has done wonders. Turns out I'm stronger than the ice cream. And my body has been so happy for me.🙂 I love being at my goal weight, having energy all day, good sleep, clear skin, and learning to love new, healthier foods. Thanks, ladies! Today I made him a chicken Italian sandwich for him and once again put my toppings in a casserole dish and it was delicious! To me, it does help me to say no, to foods that I would love to eat, the fact that, now I know that that "desire for the forbidden fruit" will pass. I guess I learned that with OMAD. There were times when I was very hungry and, in the beginning, I did not think that I would be able to wait for the time to eat again. Well, ends up that, I believe that motivation is the main key point in our ability to "sacrifice" or tolerate some discomforts to achieve a goal. Then I learned that, if you are able to tolerate the hunger for a while, it goes away. That was the best "surprise" and discovery that helped me to loose 150 pounds, thanks to keto and the support of you-tubers like you Keto Twins and all the people that share their life experiences with us. Thanks to all of you.

It’s like you guys are reading my mind, thank you so much for your content! This is speaking to me directly because I have actually been off of keto, gained all of the weight back which was only 20 pounds but 20 pounds is amazing and I feel terrible and that’s one thing that I have to give up is the treats. Thank you so much guys, you really are an inspiration!

It’s been a year now. I’m down 66 pounds. I have 24 to go. In the first few months, I had stalled, and was soooo tempted by the pumpkin drop cookies…mind you I work in a bakery…I ate 3 cookies, and told myself it wouldn’t happen again. And, it did not. I went on, and kept losing. Then, fast forward to a couple weeks ago. I was at the first function I’ve been to since the pandemic began. It was a bridal shower. I ate a piece of strawberry shortcake, and had a mimosa. I was so absolutely filled with guilt, and shame…I got right back at it, with omad, and egg fasting. I refuse to let a slip up ruin me as it has in the past. I’m planning everything out right down to where we will eat on this upcoming trip to Vegas. Not giving up or giving in. Love you ladies ❤️😘❤️😘

@@ketotwins it’s very tough, but I want this more than I want what harms me. I probably lost more than I say because I used the last known weight before I had started, because I had to wait a couple of months to get a new scale. It can be tough at times, like when we are baking off cinnamon rolls, or chocolate chip cookies. I take a good smell, look at then, and just shake my head no…just not worth it. My disappointment in myself at the shower was enough. Though, I can’t say at a real point of celebration, that I wouldn’t sip some champagne…I keep a bottle chilled, but have never broke it open.

Excellent, excellent video. I went LC in 2014-2015 and lost 65 pounds. I found that I started losing my way and was gaining back a little at a time. I ended up being up around 30 pounds by 2021- still below my high by a good measure but weighing more than I would like. As of tomorrow I will be completely sugar free, including all sugar substitutes for 30 days, as well as all flours-free as well. That has really cleaned up my cravings and set me back on the right path. The many, many "keto" products out there really ended up keeping the cravings alive. That's not to say that there is never room in my life for them again but only on rare occasions. I am saving this video for future reference!

Only one that ordered keto. 15 minutes after eating, everyone needed a nap right then...but me. VISUAL RESULTS! Carrying that into actual 'No's' softens the blow and eventually makes it easier and nonnegotiable. It does happen!!!💜💜💜

You mentioned Rebel ice cream - omg! That stuff is good! I have been an ice cream "addict" for almost forever. I once rode my motorcycle non stop (except for gas) from Dayton Ohio to Charleston South Carolina --- just to get Haagen Daz Honey Carob ice dream. I actually called the company headquarters and complained when they stopped making it and they told me only one of their stores still had some - Charleston. Anyway, I went there and had multiple orders of Honey Carob and rode back non stop to be able to go into work the next day. I do realize, however, that I really really need to say no most of the time for any keto ice cream especially Rebel. I really wish they would sell it in 1/3 pint containers though!!! 😁 Most other things I have no problem saying NO to.

Thanks a bunch… I needed this pep talk to get back on track.. just got home from a week vacation in South Dakota “Mount Rushmore”. Stayed on track most of the time but had a couple days that I fell off the wagon, it’s shocking how satisfying it felt to eat pizza, drink stout beer, have ice cream. I have found very good keto replacements for most of those (still looking for pasta replacement). I was shocked to get back home, jump on the scale and weigh the exact same as I did the day I left for vacation. I have already hit my first goal of 50lbs loss, now I’m looking forward to my second goal of a additional 20lbs. Thanks again for the encouragement.

Nice video, i agree very much. I find many times i am simply craving the sensation and deliciousness of eating, but i know i'm simply not hungry because there's that keto not very hungry thing going on. I know when i give into it, there's something else, a need, a comfort that's more emotional than anything else.

I have 2 kids (and a husband) I don't make them eat keto, but I am the only one cooking. So what I do, is I make all off us the same meal, but eliminate the carbs from mine. If we have salmon, rice and broccoli, I just have the salmon and broccoli, but I have like half a plate of broccoli. Or pizza, I fry up zucchini noodles and make a kind of pizza pasta. Me eating like this, encourages my kids to eat well too. My 4 year old has even been eating my salad with me

Keto is the only lifestyle that people try to tempt the people who are doing keto. You never hear someone tempting a vegetarian, which is a lifestyle that eliminates virtually all food groups! Keto people get lectured everyday: good advice say no: alcoholic has to say no to a drink!

I’m glad sugar has never been my thing. I always craved salt and fat….Keto is perfect for me. My big issue has always been the carbs that come with fat and salt, like bread and chips. I stick with nuts and bacon now. I’ve always been a binge eater so the biggest issue for me has been telling myself ”no” to eating twice what my body needs. It’s a work in progress but this lifestyle is easier for me because I honestly don’t feel deprived of salt and fat, that helps. A lot. Also having the fb group for support is really great.
