Why did the knight ride his horse to the library?
To return his book with honour!
Ha!😅
Jason, have you considered doing an audiobook version? I, and many others, like the sound of your voice. It's melodic, and you speak very clearly. And "read by the author" would be a major selling point, too.
I'll try to find time to make an audiobook.
And it would be much easier on horseback.
@@ModernKnight you could find time by recording it while you ride.
Oooh yes, audio books are my go to while I sew (as my full time job) - please consider it!
@@ModernKnightThat would be awesome! I'd buy that in a heartbeat!
"It is quite difficult to read. A book. On a horse." - Jason Kingsley OBE
Your horse definitely has a sense of humour. "Stand still and look pretty whilst he reads a book? I don't think so!"
Wow, this is truly the definition of multitasking! Not only is the author reading his book, but he's also riding a horse! This is such an impressive display of skill and focus. Hats off to you, sir! 🤠📚🐎
My GPT promp for the above comment:
Write a comment that may get a lot of likes on a CZcams video that has a man reading his new book while riding a horse
lol
Ghost is like : what, usually you ask me to run while you play with spears and swords, and now you ask me to stay still ? Don't understand humans... 😁
Ghost: I am a warhorse, not a librarian dangit!
Just rewatched this short video and noticed another aspect of Jason's interpretation of the Chivalric Code. Saying please to your horse. Pretty cool!
Audible should have sponsored this episode. I listen to e-books while I ride all the time.
Me too! Takes the monotony out of it after being married for 32 years.
@@injest1928 You find that monotonous? Interesting. My fiancée and I are still having a blast after 16 years.
I guess it's how you look at it.
@yukononun for the first 16 years, we were having a blast, too. All that changed after he passed. 😢🪦
I actually think this channel not being sponsored is what makes it such a breath of fresh air among all the creators nowadays advertising anything they get paid for, on top of all the adds that YT puts in the videos. It's getting ridiculous.
This is too funny :D I hope you and Ghost went for a canter.
We had a fun ride out after this, the cloak worked well.
Meanwhile Ghost: My goodness, he has gone crazy. I'll dance a little to get these crazy thoughts of his out. 😂🐎
Ghost had way too much energy that day for standing still. He was pouncing! Lol
I wish you well with your book and will buy one ASAP!❤️🤗🐝
Jason Kingsley: Reads a book while riding a horse at the same time.
Me: Trips while trying to walk and chew gum at the same time.
That's a great excerpt and has my interest. Looking forward to getting the book!
Or more appropriately, man rides horse, then reads book.
Love your channel and I'll add you book to my birthday list
Love Ghost antics. He's a marvelous boy.
nearby paroling knight: "hey! no reading and riding!"
What a Handsome Boy he is❤❤!
Really looking forward to the discussion of the two aspects of chivalry he introduced. I think in the US, there are regional and generational differences as well.
I often listen to audio books when riding alone, but always with earphones on 😂
My horse got very disteacted the one time I forgot to check if my earphons were plugded in 😂 she kept trying to twist and turn to see who tge heck was talking and how they had sneeked up on her 😆😂
That's really funny, I've never actually thought about reading a book while riding my horse (or listening to an audio book but I don't ever do that anyways lol) but now I kinda want to try it!
Ghost is an absolutely beautiful soul! I will look for your book, it sounds fascinating!
Ghost isn't a horse, he's a ham. Loves showing off
If you skip chapters and find a passage about the gallent warhorses I bet Ghost would settle down and listen to the story!
Good idea! Lol❤️🤗🐝
Oh how cute ghost is🥰" huuuu here I am! Don't you see what fancy things I am doing here? Huuuu don't you ignore me up there! "
Love seeing Ghost excited about the book too 😁
I think the way you are wanting to live is wonderful. I try to do my hardest to follow similar ways, and I admire your efforts to keep alive a better way to act alive in this world infested with bad manners.
Wealth and privilege certainly helps factilitate such lifestyles - just sayin
@@hellgeist_ Jason Kingsley has worked very hard to get where he is, and that aside his ethos is one we could follow privileged or not.
@@hellgeist_ True but many don't have that excuse. Feet on seats on public transport. Littering. Little tiny manifestations of people with incredibly weak character.
LOL! that was brilliant! will be ordering the book... cant stop laughing!
It doesn't appear that Ghost is much of a bibliophile. He looks like he would much rather MOVE than be an easy chair by the fire. It gave me a good chuckle. Give him an apple for being a good sport.

1:04 This almost feels like meme material :D
Fabulous. Ghost clearly wondering what all this reading thing is. It's time to play! I'm impressed you kept a steady voice, read, rode and communicated with Ghost whilst attending to filming/phography all at the same time.
I love story time, and I love horseys, this was ultra cuuuuuuuuuuuuute for me
Goodness. Everybody's a critic! Seriously, this is splendid. Book in my future.
Why did the knight bring a book on horseback? He wanted to study chivalry on the go!
Ghost is fantastic! Now i can't wait to find out if I'll find 'Good Boy' sprinkled across the printed book pages ... !
THAT was hilarious!! Ghost was having no part in this and just wanted to go!
Wow..... Is it just me....or is the eyes on the horse really nice...he looks in the camera... 🙃
You should consider an audio version if you haven't already, with you as narrator. I find your voice quite relaxing, and your enthusiasm for the material makes it feel genuine.
Finding time is the issue.
Nice to know about It! Chivalry is an amazing subject...Soon your book will be on my bookshelf side by side with Thomas Mallory, Howard Pyle, Rules for a Knight, Xenophon, Ivanhoe and many others!
O help I am dying....😂the videotitle already made me burst out laughing, but seeing the combi of a knight with a book on a stunningly beautiful stallion who just wants to show off.... hahaahaaa! Good boy Ghost. And I am definitly curious about the book!
Glad you enjoyed it
Ok, but was it also written on horseback? 😂
Cool... you still have your beautiful horse!
Cheers MHTV
you two are so funny. it looks like an excellent book and i look forward to reading it.
Ghost is so charismatic.
You did better than me!😂

No, Thank y
Dangit! Oh and wind too!
Thank you for your support
Darnit, this isn't the real first page!🤣
Thanks so much! You made my day! I lead a pen&paper RPG group and there's allways discussions whether to learn from books or scrolls while on a horse or not. I say it's impossible, they say it would be no problem. None of them is nearly as skilled a horesman as you are. Next time I'll show them this video. No further arguments.
Hey, Ghost waved at us! Haha this was a great little video.
I have no idea what you said, too busy watching Ghost. What a wonderful equine.
Eye candy AND being read to. The good life!
Congratulations!
Ghost has no time for reading! He's a horse of action!
i am bing watching your entire channel in the upcoming days, FYI ^^
i'll grab that book too sooner or later XD
Have fun!
You think the horse was thinking "Hey, he is all focused on that...thing! Lemme see if I can get him to focus on me. ME!" ? :)
Don't let the Bailiff catch you reading and riding!
Short Countdown now. Jason, the Modern Knight, has talked about his book in a few interviews. Sounds really worth reading. Officially available July 18th.
This sample is more than enough to get me hooked, honestly.
But I might just be baited in by the presentation on horseback.
Seriously though, I'm really looking forwards to getting this book!
I look forward to it!
Plot twist: "Good boy" wasn't meant for the horse, it's also in the book.
Love it ! 🥰
As it is becoming increasingly hard to raise young men of good moral fiber, I think it would behoove every father to buy this book for their son(s).
It would keep them from horsing around
Your joking right? Men of today are far more moral than before.
@@valandil7454 Your right, men of the past WOULD be disgusted with the men of today. Probably mostly with the fact that most men of today are unwilling to mercilessly rape their wives, beat their children, own slaves, brush their teeth, bathe regularly, treat animals humanely, do not rape and pillage conquered nations. They'd be disgusted at how highly today's men value reading and writing, how men value their daughters for more than bargaining chips, how today's men have mastered science to the point of basically wielding magic. They would be disgust with the modern day rule of law that says innocent until proven guilty, or our denial for the presence of witches, and lack of desire to burn innocent people alive.
History books CANNOT paint an accurate picture of just how much life sucked in the past. To desire the past is to desire regression.
@@primadeluxe4910 dickless obedience and subservience does not equate to morality
This is why they recommended warriors to master the sword than the pen!
I don't know which is better... You reading that book or Ghost dancing about. I could watch Ghost all day but would also love an audio book of your reading. Great quality. Looking forward to getting the book.
I cannot wait for my copy to come. The mind of a successful and glorious man put to ink and paper.
Ghost is absolutely fabulous and you are great for not pushing him past his bounds.
You really need to record that into an audiobook. Your voice accent and enunciation are perfect for that.
If you do an audio book, do it in its entirety on a horse
lol, probably impractical.
"...And when following a chivalric-- Good Boy....Good Boy....And when following a--" *loud neigh* "......And when following--" *sound of hooves clopping on the ground over and over, wrustling sounds* "
Yes, Ghost is indeed absolutely marvelous! 🤍🤍🤍
😂 I love horses!
I won't lie and say I will certainly buy that book but I might in the future.
Also anytime I hear an animal, any animal really, named Ghost I always add "And the Darkness" in my head. And now I'll have to go and dig out my copy of the movie responsible for that aka"The Ghost and the Darkness"...
Looking forward to the next video.
Am looking forward to your book…maybe not as much as Ghost 😂
Ghost was ready to get moving! Enough calm reading, let's gallop across the fields 😂
Awesome about the book! I just ordered it as there are no independent booksellers near me. Can't wait to read it!
This sounds like a fascinating book and an impressive skill to read while riding, well beyond my skill.
I'd only ever heard of stories of people reading while riding (not all of which are suitable for CZcams's delicate sensibilities) and not all of them true, as far as I can tell Abraham Lincoln never read the Bible while riding his horse but recited verses he said it helped him de-stress and reflect on the beauty of the world.
That said his riding is supposedly what led to a popular misconception about him, namely that he didn't wear underwear, this rumour supposedly started when he was inspecting the troops on horseback and his trousers fell down and brought some underwear with it (his coat kept everything covered of course), after making his inspections he rode up to General Grant, the two exchanged salutes and Grant took over the parade while Lincoln rode off.
I've only seen one account of this in a documentary on the American Civil War.
Whether this happened to Lincoln or not, I hope this doesn't happen to anyone while riding.
His hair in the wind are majestic
Ghost is gorgeous
I so wish I could get a copy of your amazing new book.
Warlords saying you didn't saddle me to stand still let's g!
If you want to read book on a horseback, you need to roll d20
You have such a fun life. :)
All audiobooks need to be read from horseback! 😆😆😆
This is literally the equivalent of reading your phone while driving your car.
😂 If I come across it, I will buy it. I love both you and Ghost!
You 'n yer 'orse: you make I larf!
Perhaps you should have given Ghost a couple of laps around the paddock before trying to read the opening page.
Cheers.
lol, and make him twice as feisty?
you seem like a nice bloke, thank you for your vids
Chivalry makes me think of Don Quixote. Definitely not saying Jason is Bonkers though
British itinerant preacher George Whitfield used to read on his horseback trips from the New England to Georgia colonies. Five times.
I have no idea how he managed to read on horseback.
bigger font size helps and a steady plodding horse! I have no idea of his riding skills but we do read of travelling horses that just plod along following the trail with little to no imput from the rider.
Now come on, we need Ghost doing a full rear up and you holding the book Excalibur-style! :) I'm looking forward to getting my copy and learning even more from you.
In the book mini-series "The Stone of Tymora" by R.A. Salvatore, young ward Maimun supposedly reads multiple history volumes on horseback behind his guardian Perrault one summer. I have to call "hogwash" on that, now. 😁
If all went by the code it would be a better world. Can't wait to read your book.
Excited to read it!
I cannot wait to get my copy!
Nah you'll be pulled over by the Earl of Shirring's five-o for distracted riding.
❤❤❤❤
We need an audio book version. Only it has to be read by Jason while on horseback
lol, that would take a long time!
Yes! But necessarily with all the "Ghost, come back. Back, please. Good boy!"
@@ModernKnight I believe we are more than happy to wait
Just gallant. You let me through the door - into a piece of your colourful, fun world, full of horses, swords and lively social history. If that's not chivalrous courtesy to the ladies, I don't know what is!
This is like a Taskmaster task.
I had a trainer who made us write messages and read them on horseback, really an interesting experience! Love both you and Ghost, will be looking for your book
Ghost: I know all of this about you already. No need to repeat it. Tally-ho! The day goes before us.
Side Note - excellent audio quality despite the wind. Is that due to a noise canceling mic, or sound editing, or both? Just curious. Thanks.
A wind baffle on the remote mic, a few takes and some judicious editing with great skill.
@@ModernKnight Thank you. It really is quite a bit of work and skill. But it does seem like worth while fun.
i would love to hear him read the full book... i wonder if he has done that yet
Not yet, it's on the list of things I need to get done
I'd love to hear Ghost read the whole book too, that would be quite impressive.
Rabbit 1. "Is it me, or is that horse really talking to a very tall three legged spider over there?"
Rabbit 2. "With all that tackle in his mouth too, it's obviously a bit part!" ~ (Collapse on floor, roll about clutching ribs, etc : )
Please narrate this book for us. I’d love to listen to it.
