Loved the second paragraph on Sabbath afternoon "God is a God of incredible love..." This paragraph needs to be repeated each week, and everything needs to be looked at through this lens. I am a Register Nurse, now retired but until recently was predominately working in a busy Brisbane (Australia) Emergency Department and very happy to tell people (usually staff members SM) that I am a Christian but don't believe in the God that most Christian believe in, the conversation normally went something like this: SM: So what God do you believe in? Me: My God is not into domestic violence. SM: Huh? Me: Do you have a partner? SM: Yes. Me: If your partner was to tell you that they loved you but if you didn't love them back that they would use physical force, or emotional manipulation or some sort of punishment toward you, what would that do for your love for them? SM: It would lessen it. Me: That is the God most Christians believe in. They believe God loves them but if you don't love Him back He will burn and torture you forever in hell or kill you or punish you in some way. Yet they insist that they love Him but it has nothing to do with fear. In psychology and psychiatry these are called mutually exclusive beliefs and make no sense whatsoever. We see domestic violence victims coming in all the time with the same belief system. SM: Hmmm. Your right. But what about the two God's in the Bible? Me: What two Gods? SM: You know, the Old Testament One who kills and punishes and the New Testament One who is completely different. Me: Glad you asked... Unfortunately the second paragraph on Monday's lesson has turned God into a domestic abuser to get his way by suggesting, "This war obviously includes some kind of physical element." REALLY? Zech 4:6 ...'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty. (NIV) "God could have destroyed Satan and his sympathizers as easily as one can cast a pebble to the earth; but He did not do this. Rebellion was not to be overcome by force. Compelling power is found only under Satan's government. The Lord's principles are not of this order. His authority rests upon goodness, mercy, and love; and the presentation of these principles is the means to be used. God's government is moral, and truth and love are to be the prevailing power." (The Desire of Ages p. 759). So how did Satan get cast out of heaven? You will need to look up the full setting for yourself, but it was the lead up to the crucifixion: John 12:30-32 Jesus answered and said, "This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sakes. Now is the judgement of this world. Now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw to Myself." (MKJV) According to Jesus, Satan was cast out of heaven at his crucifixion. We know from the book of Job that he still had access to heaven well after the fall of man. What was it about the cross that restricted his access to heaven? We just need to go a couple more pages along from the last quote in The Desire of Ages. "Satan saw that his disguise was torn away. His administration was laid open before the unfallen angels and before the heavenly universe. He had revealed himself as a murderer. By shedding the blood of the Son of God, he had uprooted himself from the sympathies of the heavenly beings. Henceforth his work was restricted. Whatever attitude he might assume, he could no longer await the angels as they came from the heavenly courts, and before them accuse Christ's brethren of being clothed with the garments of blackness and the defilement of sin. The last link of sympathy between Satan and the heavenly world was broken." (The Desire of Ages 761). Let's not forget that Lucifer (when Satan was still Luficer) made accusations about the character of God at the very beginning of the conflict. He has been trying to get us to believe that God's character is like his. This controversy is about the character of God that is why we need to interpret and if necessary reinterpret what we believe based on God's character being love. After the cross the minds of the unfallen beings were sealed. They would have nothing to do with Satan or his angels. He was therefore restricted to this earth because we were the only ones who would listen to him.
God's grace is upon you continuously so that still some more valuable works might come out from you. God bless you, your family members and ministry. Eve had overstated the words of God's command. He had said to Adam and Eve, “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” In Eve's controversy with the serpent, she added “Neither shall ye touch it.” Here the subtlety of the serpent appeared. This statement of Eve gave him advantage; he plucked the fruit and placed it in her hand, using her own words, He hath said, If ye touch it, ye shall die. You see no harm comes to you from touching the fruit, neither will you receive any harm by eating it. . Con 14.2
Love implies being able to make choices. But those who will be saved would have already made the choice of serving God. If we did that in a sineful world, it is certain that we will serve Him in a perfect world. There will be no one to tempt us in Heaven and seeing The scars on Jesus' who would like to sin and hurt Him again? Who would like to go back to a world of sin and suffer again? The debate has been settled : God is love.
Pastor Mark, if we read story of d serpent and Eve, we shld note that, God did not tell Eve that they shld not touch d fruit, it was Eve that said it to d serpent, which was her 1st lie
Thank you Eld. Finley for such a great lesson on the power of choice. Question In Rev. 12:4, why did the Bible says Satan used his tail but not any other parts of the body?
Isaiah 9:15 says "The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail." In the Bible tail represents lies. It was through lies about God that Satan drew the third part of the stars which represents Angels (Revelation 1:20).
Thanks Pastor for the insights. My question, When Christ died and wiped away all humanity sin, why was the earth then not restored to perfection immediately He resurrected?
When Christ died and rose again, He did not wipe away the sin of humanity. He came to pay the ransom to God for our sins. Now, by grace through faith, we can be forgiven and reconciled to the Father. He regained all Satan had taken away from Adam. It is at the end of the millenium that Satan will be destroyed with his angels, sin and death will be no more.

If without freedom of choice between good and evil there is no love, then evil is necessary for true love to exist. That is, without evil there cannot be good. If there were no demons, there would be no saints. Nothing happens that easily; you have to pay for everything good.
You don’t have to pay for everything good, are you paying for your salvation? Definitely NO. The Bible says the righteous shall live by faith, there are some certain things you do not need to know, not because there is anything good in them, is because God is trying to protect you. You have to trust your creator that he knows best for you. ❤
i am just wondering, out of curiosity, about the "war that happended in heaven." Was it a physical war where evil and good angels fighting each other ? Or more like a "oral war" where both sides of angels persuaded and argued ??
The bible did not say that some of the angels were killed or wounded. They were sent to "earth" so maybe a war of words is the answer. War is the absence of peace, maybe we should go into that direction..
Pastor Finley, I just want clarification if the fruit mentioned in the Bible was a parable. I heard someone said it wasn't a fruit it was just a parable..Please can you clarify this🙏
So my question is that talking about perfect earth after the creation of the lucifer doesn't make sense to me since the universe has to be perfect and which was created by god.is it right?

This statement of Eve gave him advantage; he plucked the fruit and placed it in her hand, using her own words, He hath said, If ye touch it, ye shall die. You see no harm comes to you from touching the fruit, neither will you receive any harm by eating it. . Con 14.2

Would man be granted the power of choice in heaven?
Love implies being able to make choices. But those who will be saved would have already made the choice of serving God. If we did that in a sineful world, it is certain that we will serve Him in a perfect world.
There will be no one to tempt us in Heaven and seeing The scars on Jesus' who would like to sin and hurt Him again? Who would like to go back to a world of sin and suffer again? The debate has been settled : God is love.
Pastor Mark, if we read story of d serpent and Eve, we shld note that, God did not tell Eve that they shld not touch d fruit, it was Eve that said it to d serpent, which was her 1st lie

In Rev. 12:4, why did the Bible says Satan used his tail but not any other parts of the body?
Isaiah 9:15 says "The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail." In the Bible tail represents lies. It was through lies about God that Satan drew the third part of the stars which represents Angels (Revelation 1:20).

Thanks Pastor for the insights. My question, When Christ died and wiped away all humanity sin, why was the earth then not restored to perfection immediately He resurrected?
When Christ died and rose again, He did not wipe away the sin of humanity. He came to pay the ransom to God for our sins. Now, by grace through faith, we can be forgiven and reconciled to the Father. He regained all Satan had taken away from Adam.
It is at the end of the millenium that Satan will be destroyed with his angels, sin and death will be no more.

If without freedom of choice between good and evil there is no love, then evil is necessary for true love to exist. That is, without evil there cannot be good. If there were no demons, there would be no saints. Nothing happens that easily; you have to pay for everything good.
You don’t have to pay for everything good, are you paying for your salvation? Definitely NO. The Bible says the righteous shall live by faith, there are some certain things you do not need to know, not because there is anything good in them, is because God is trying to protect you. You have to trust your creator that he knows best for you. ❤
Love exists without evil. It is the absence of love that "creates" evil. There will be no evil in Heaven.

i am just wondering, out of curiosity, about the "war that happended in heaven." Was it a physical war where evil and good angels fighting each other ? Or more like a "oral war" where both sides of angels persuaded and argued ??
The bible did not say that some of the angels were killed or wounded. They were sent to "earth" so maybe a war of words is the answer. War is the absence of peace, maybe we should go into that direction..

So my question is that talking about perfect earth after the creation of the lucifer doesn't make sense to me since the universe has to be perfect and which was created by god.is it right?
