With an hour to spare, the inner wing was offered up to the new tie plate and extension piece on my old Morris Minor. Things went to rather well and plug welded into place.
G'day from Australia. I'm working on my 53 and always looking for ideas and techniques. My welding is improving and once I realised that a grinder can rectify a host of boo boos I'm plodding along happily. I noticed in your car that the floor edge structure that runs from the bottom of the front door pillar to the centre pillar doesn't have any stamped out round holes on the outer face. Mine has them - may be an Aussie feature, as my car was assembled here. Anyway, happy welding - I'll keep an eye on your progress 🙂 Cheers mate

You need to fit the front lane back on to align the tie plate and it should help light the bumper iron etc

Is yours a saloon? If so they have different cill sections. Just a thought.
