Oh Seigneur je me retrouve dans mes années 60 un Paris respirable,air jazzy typique des caves St Germain ave c Juliéte Greco qui chantait StGermain des pres. Et nous les Zazous qui swinguions.Par contre pas autant de terrasses .Des rues avec beaucoup de petits cafés ou on mangeaitpour pas grand chose nous les étudiantes.

🍎 Given the situation here in the states, it’s a little odd to see so many people out and about in the cafés. Reassuring that it can be done though. Contrast that with the wonderfully bearing streets in the area. I know it’s selfish, but I would love to be walking around there with Paris nearly all to myself. No wonder the country is on lockdown! Been there 6x,my daughter studied at Sorbornne, lived on St Germain, 1 block from church! Going back was 2021 spring,cxl, but 9/21,1 week off at Germain

End July the mask was not compulsory outside, only in buildings. It has just recently changed, now in France many cities and/or streets impose to wear a mask (which is then quite well followed).

Very few people wearing masks I noticed, it’s amazing that there’s a world pandemic going on, and people just refuse to listen.
A surprising lack of overweight people walking around compared to the U.S.
As a person from a small Dutch town, it scares me to see so many people walking together in one street. Glad to hear from other comments that everyone wears masks now. Do Parisians also need to keep distance from each other? Because that seems hard in the small streets!
It's sometimes difficult, like in public transport, but the virus is more or less contained now. We have a bit more cases than 2 months ago but it's mostly young people who for the most part are asymptomatic, and because we doubled the tests. The number of hospitalisations is still going down and people diyng are now only about 0,5%% of the positives.
Some scientists even say that the mask shouldn't be mandatory anymore.

Wow, youtube cut out most of my comment there. Are we not allowed to speak about miss Rona? I was saying: over here in the Netherlands, infection rates are rising. Mostly young people get infected as well, but they are not asymptotic. They don't need hospital care though, which is good. I hope we can stop the spread and don't have to lock down again!

I miss the area of Saint Germain des près, rue Dufour...etc. It was my twenty's when I have been at université (École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées) rue des Saint Pères). Amost 30 years WOW.

Of course,, the US is much worse with over 40,000 cases per day. What does it take for all of us to understand that this is a serious world threat? This virus is not finished with us yet. Please be safe and wear masks.We;ll get through this.
