A slight comment on the casters, while you suggest they use the high variant of the spells, pawns will always choose to fully charge their spells. In the case of a spell like anodyne, that means that instead of getting off a quick level 1 heal while there is opportunity, they will keep trying to cast the level 2 version, even if no opportunity presents itself. This is also good to keep in mind for tier 3 sorcerer spells, as while the higher damage is desireable, level 1 spell damage is more than the no damage of your pawn canceling their cast because it took too long.

I was wondering why the new mage pawn I got with High Anodyne was hardly ever actually healing, kept seeing the green ball floating around but the spell wouldn't come, thank you for this info

Fire for Pre-grigori, Ice/Holy Post-game. Switch to Ice at Devilfote Grove, if going to kill the Drake.

Idk what's more surprising, the fact you covered all pawn vocations in almost 10min, or the fact that your Arisen has better rizz than mine.
So some people have said that Sorcerer Pawns are better off not learning the higher tiers of the Nuke Spells, but if you're going to be Spellsyncing I say it's better to just have the High Tier Spells, for example, you can start a Bolide, your Pawn will sync with you, and you can release it as Tier 1, the Spell hits and causes Stagger or Knockdown, giving your Pawn enough time to charge to Tier 2, and while your Pawn does that, you can sync with them to skip all the way to Tier 3
Doubt it'll work on Fulmination or Maelstrom because Fulmination works very differently to other Nuke Spells and Maelstrom has a terrible recovery animation, but I know it works on Bolide and Gicel, might work on Seism too
Something I should note here - especially in regards to inclinations, as stated, these are only suggestions, conclusions I've reached via my own experience or that of other players. That doesn't strictly mean it will be best for you, so if you find that something else does work better for your pawn by all means go for it!
As a note about Fighter pawns, I'd heard that it's better to leave off the shield skills entirely, as they perfect block attacks more frequently without them.
Maybe shield summons for drawing aggro, but that's about it. Springboard sounds cool, but I haven't been able to get the pawns to use it consistently. Hopefully DD2 gives you the option to direct pawns to use specific skills, to make niche skills like that more useful.

Run around both you and your pawn as fighter and consistently use springboard when facing large enemies and it will start to do it, but the AI doesn't understand that sometimes that is not a good idea and will send you flying when fighting a dragon that has the weak point on the bottom.
I'd say on sorcerer pawn, it can be pretty good to just leave them with base tier mega spells, so they can fire them up more often and reliably.
Then have another sorcerer with the upgraded versions in your party to quicken their High/Grand Bolide.
Heck, while they are charging High or Grand, the pawn with only the base version will be able to almost insta-cast it
Sadly this isnt a guide on how to make the thiccest pawn but I suppose it will do.

With all due respect, I find myself disagreeing with most of this, so for the sake of those that are new to the game here is my 2 cents.
Strider: is your Scather/challenger switch it if you want them to kill flying and range enemies first. Hundred kisses and brain splitter if you want optimal dagger damage, leave third slot empty or Instant Reset.
for bow you might want to consider Fracture dart but Volley is not bad and five fold flurry is not a bad choice either. If you give your Strider an upgraded rusted bow they will do a decent job keeping enemies torpored.
Fighter: Mitigator with Pioneer if you want to attack from a distance yourself (though it can be tricky) or Mitigator and utalitarian. Dont bother with the evasive manuvers, the game AI is not good at using it, if your pawn was raised with a lot of MP then Dragon's Maw is good. Shield wise, drum might not be bad.
Warrior: Same as fighter for behavior and Corona Slash and War Cry. Add anything that will increase their ability to knock down and make them as tanky as you can.
Sorcerer's: This depends, but I like to have them spell sync if possible, If you are only going to have one pawn take this role then level one of the major spells and either High Voidspell or Miasma. If you have more than one Sorcerer, I would recommend each one having different levels of the major spells and one pawn that is a fighter/ warrior with pioneer and allow that guy to engage first.
Ranger: Ten fold flurry or Great Gamble if you raised the pawn with max stamina. You could try both and see if your pawn figures when to use each one correctly. As far as behavior, that depends on what enemies you want your pawn to engage first. As far as dagger skills, either none or Dazzle blast with upgraded rusted daggers for Torpor.

I normally don't use pawns cause I enjoy playing solo and having an AI killing things for me is not my style. When I DO use them though, it's always a Mage pawn with support skills like High Anodyne or Grapnel, so they don't damage the enemies much
High anodyne is trash. Anodyne is superior in every way
NEVER give your pawns multiple weapon enchantments, they WILL apply the wrong one for most enemies unless they have perfect enemy knowledge (and even then it´s iffy)

Hi, New Arisen here, I just want a clarification when you said that Arisen needs to teach that strider combo to my Strider Pawn, does it mean that I also need to be Strider in the same time as my pawn to teach the combo?
Or my Pawn can learn that strider combo thay I will keep on doing even though the Pawn is still a Warrior then when I change her to Strider she can now also do the combo moves that I did when my Arisen was still a Strider?

I'm actually not sure if they need to be the same class for this to take effect but I believe that's the case? So if you wanna be absolutely sure, doubling up on classes would be the way to go yeah

Can we only change our pawns affinity, gear, vocations etc or can we change pawns we get in game or from the rift as well?
1) yes we can change the affinity gear and vocation which is your main pawn creation.
2) pawns from the rift are made by other people and yes you can change your pawns except ur main.

Thanks for the vid. As a newbie I have what is probably a somewhat useless question, as it might solve itself with progression, but, still... How do you set your pawn's price for other players to hire him/her? I'm seeing that the more your pawn is hired, the better, as experience increases; so, I would like to be sure that my pawn gets hired as much as possible, not having an increasing fee going on unbeknownst to me... Thanks, cheers!
So as far as I'm aware this is based upon level discrepancy. If someone tries to hire your pawn, but your pawn is higher level than them, that will incur a fee of Rift Crystals, however if they have you added as a friend they should be able to hire that pawn for free regardless. Hope this helps!

@@techtoth1to add to this, the rift crystals gained by your pawn are based off the XP gained while being used (i believe it’s 10% of combat xp, quest xp does not count). Your pawns are free as long as the person hiring them are equal to or above your pawn’s level.
Instead, focus on making an actual good pawn with the right skills and inclinations (and upgraded gear) to encourage their usage. What kind of pawn, setup and level are you running currently?
@@jayellgee I see, thanks a ton! I am currently using a level 36 archer. And, yes, I equip it with the best possible gear. That helps me in fights, too. The better it is, the more it can be of help.
Are sorcerer pawns better off not learning higher level versions of big spells? I find that they hit much more often with base lvl sorceries

Give Mage Pawn all the Boon spells only, they will make mistakes in the begining but they will soon learn enemy elemental/holy/dark weakness. Give them the offensive spells only after we aquired elemental staves/weapons and they know the enemy weaknesses.

@@ThiefofCrystals Enemy are likely want to attack your Mage first, need Fighter Pawns or yourself to Shield Drum, otherwise give your Mage Blearing spell to make them blind 😄
I've never seen a mage pawn not mess the boons. Is your pawn a mage? if it is and it can use boons properly I'd like to rent it.
@@JLG35X The trick is your pawn must be the only Mage in the party, he/she will try out all the boons untill learn the correct one for enemies.
@@JLG35X If you're a Mage and already know about the enemies, you can teach them directly of course but your pawn must NOT be a Mage oterwise he/she will mess you up 😅
It's a damn shame there are no hybrid pawns, but it makes sense to keep the player character feeling more like the real focus of the party.

Yes! You can either purchase an Art of Metamorphosis from Jonathan in the encampment to change their appearance, or swap to hard difficulty (and then back) to soft reset your game progress if you aren't too far in. (You retain your items and appearance, but have the chance to enter character creation again.)
As for vocation, you can easily swap both your vocation and that of your pawn in Gran Soren by speaking to Asalam, the owner of the inn. Additionally, near the end of the game you can buy the Secret of Metamorphosis from Jonathan, still in the encampment, which will allow you to have permanent access to the character editor from the main menu for both your arisen and pawn.

The bit about "teaching your pawns" is several years out of date, by the way. There is nothing in the game code to even suggest that your pawns mimic your actions. Their decisions are solely made via their skills, enemy knowledge, and inclinations.
