- Marsaxlokk is a typical Fishing Village in the Mediterranean island of Malta. On Sunday morning, a huge street market of about 1 km is set up along the shore of this beautiful place. No doubt that this is the best place to buy fresh fish from the stalls and the fishmongers will surely help you decide. This is what really makes this village a fishing village.
But here you will find everything you can imagine: from fresh fruit and vegitables to bags, footwear, clothing and more. Come and taste the Maltese Nougat (Qubbajt) and other Maltese Confectionery such as the Pastini tal-lewz, the Ħelwa tat-Tork and other Maltese traditional food such as the Żebbug mimli, Tadam imqadded, Ġardiniera, Ġbejniet tal-bzar, Kappar etc. Buy a jar of the mostly sought Maltese honey (Għasel ta' Malta) and admire the beautiful craft of the Maltese traditional Lace (il-Bizzilla).
