Best car says they'll showcase it this year and production starts q1 next year... But it's specifically made for Asian market... Maybe it'll enter Europe but won't launch in north/south America...
Toyota/Suzuki are sharing platform for Asia for years now but suzuki refused to share 5 door jimny ladder frame for toyota version.. So toyota is bringing their own...
It competes with jimny and even jeep is trying to make mini wrangler...

I suspect the platform this will be built on will be the SWB 70 series with a new body.

Been pining for a SWB 70 for a long time in North America. The ones sold in other markets is perfect.thisnew mini one will likely be similar to the bigger brother, which also looks like a kids toy. Probably not going to be as study/durable as the SWB 70 series we've been seeing for over 30 years.
