      Not a single one has anything to do with intelligence or IQ either. It’s a speed reading test. How fast you read doesn’t correlate with intelligence. How well you comprehend what you read does. Dumbass test it pisses me off

      They only give you 6 minutes to answer 25 questions, which is really not that much time when you have to read the question, come up with the answer, and either type or click it. So it's way more of a time thing than a smarts thing

    • @AliceYobby
      @AliceYobby Před rokem +1

      Yeah this is more a speed reading test than an intelligence test. They’re giving you 14 seconds for each question. That’s crazy.

    • @AliceYobby
      @AliceYobby Před rokem

      They’re giving you 14 seconds for each question so it makes sense that most people would fail no matter intelligence as it’s just a test of how fast you can read, which doesn’t map to how smart someone is.

    It is genuinely not likely to be able do this in 6 minutes without a calculator, no matter how smart you are. It’s hardly possible with a calculator. Just reading/comprehending the questions and answers would take most people 6 minutes, and being a speed reader is not correlated with intelligence.

    • @AliceYobby
      @AliceYobby Před rokem

      8 minutes would be better. I get that it’s pretty much just testing for literacy, so not having to take too long to read is a part of it, but 19 seconds per question is not a *long* time.

    • @deepowls
      @deepowls Před 8 měsíci

      For most of those math problems, if you're using a calculator you're doing it wrong.
      There are a few exceptions. However, for something like find the average of all the integers between 17 and 55, you just needed to do (17 + 55)/2 = 36, which none of them figured out.
      One question was basically just straight asking what 18 * 22 is. Using a calculator would be fine and quick. It's faster to rewrite it as (20 - 2)(20 + 2) = 20² - 2² = 400 - 4 = 396. However, that's not something normal people would recognize.
      I had a question that was dividing 36 by 2.25 and truncating, if necessary. Again, a calculator is fine there and fast, but some could do it faster without it.
      I tried it before watching, but didn't know to keep a separate timer. I "finished" it, but ended up skipping two of the what 3- or 5-letter words could be put in front of this list because I didn't get it instantly and I had no idea how long they would take. I'm fairly certain were the only two I got wrong. I don't know how much time I had left, but I doubt it was very much. I haven't taken standardized-ish tests like this in many years, so I was at a disadvantage there. However, I did know things like T was the 20th letter of the alphabet, so R must be 18th...which put me at an advantage over normal people.
      I will note that the time constraint is one of the few things that seems applicable to football as it requires critical thinking skills and decision making in terms of how long to spend on a specific question. The speed reading is also applicable in being able to process quickly and knowing what words you can skip, while under pressure. That it's extremely difficult to finish is a feature, not a bug.
      Now, if they cared, athletes taking the test at the combine would have taken some practice tests, which would help them better judge the time. I don't know if they got to see a timer or not.
      Regardless, yes, the test is largely BS and misused.
      [I realize I'm very late to this video. However, I didn't want that calculator/math comment to go unchallenged. I also recognize that very few people will read this and care.]

    This is so funny! I can laugh because I took this exam after college seeking a career in corporate banking! I scored a 35! This was 50 years ago after a successful career in corporate, international baking as an economist. The real issue is working under pressure with a time constraint. I would hate to take that test over again as my brain is now in retirement mode and I don’t give a F!😅😂
