Today you are flying with me on a QantasLink (a subsidiary of Qantas) De Havilland Canada (DHC) Dash 8-300 for a 67-minute (476 km/296 miles) journey from Griffith (population: 20,251) , New South Wale, to Sydney (population: 5.4 million), New South Wales, on a sunny late morning. Immediately after takeoff from Griffith, you can see the endless farmland, reflecting this area known as "the bowl of Australia." Most prominently, patches of canola flowers add to the beauty of these idyllic areas. Along the way are endless plains until we reach Blue Mountains National Park. Following a circuitous approach into Sydney International Airport, which provides excellent view of Sydney area, we touch down onto Runway 16R.
Regional cities and towns play a significant role in building, developing, and sustaining Australian society. Currently QantasLink operates 50 Dash 8 variants (3 -200, 16 -300, and 31 -400) mainly serving regional cities and towns across Australia.
“Griffith is a major regional city in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area that is located in the north-western part of the Riverina region of New South Wales, known commonly as the food bowl of Australia. It is also the seat of the City of Griffith local government area. Like the Australian capital, Canberra, and extensions to the nearby town of Leeton, Griffith was designed by Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin. Griffith was named after Arthur Hill Griffith, the then New South Wales Secretary for Public Works. Griffith was proclaimed a city in 1987, and had a population of 20,251 in June 2018.” - from Wikipedia

Awesome insight to the flight from Griffith.
Thanks for watching mate. Have been in UK now?
Great footage, reasonable weather for a change to
Thanks for watching mate. Yes, now spring is coming and weather gets better and better.
nice spotting mate!!
Thanks for watching mate.
Excellent clip that captures the trip and the geography very nicely. A tiny bit of trivia. Trust me to notice something like this. Watch the apparent propellor rotation while the aircraft is in cruise. As it passes in and out of clouds the rotational speed often varies just slightly, enough to make the recorded apparent slow rotation of the propellor appear to stop while transiting through cloud. Perhaps something like a subtle difference in humidity marginally affecting engine and propeller performance??
Thanks for watching. You have great attention to details! It is very likely that the reason, as you have pointed out, is due to the humidity difference impacting the engine and propeller performance.
@@DrBearAviation Used to be a flight instructor - tends to give you a "Why is it doing that?" complex.
@@tacitdionysus3220 Thanks. Lovely to meet another flight instructor. I hold a CPL and instrument rating but only fly privately. I do love "Why is it doing that". 😁
