This interview explains why Michael always has the best riffs, solos and melodies in general. He's always got it. May he continue to give us beautiful metal music.

Michael does not possess beauty per se , but too me he's got that animal magnetism.Funny to find out he is a Tiger in Chinese horoscope and his moon is in Scorpio .When I first saw a video ( I am a far younger fan ) thought he was a Scorpio - I mean , I could feel sth dark in the guy.Andi is a lovable , cuddling big cat , a Leo.But I am fan of Kiske's voice , prefer clean voices.

TLLOMC CUTTING EDGE ALBUM REVIEWS: Okay, Helloween's new album isn't that new anymore, and I apologize for now being able to review it earlier. Although, seeing as it was released in late May, I have had more time for it to grow on me, resulting in a more thorough review. Without further ado, here's my thoughts on My God-Given Right.
THE BAND: Among the power metal community, Helloween needs no introduction. If you don't already know, Helloween is a German band that has been active since 1983 (but have been around since 1978 and have gone though several name changes before settling on Helloween.) My God-Given Right is their 15th studio album and to this day they don't disappoint (I'm not implying they have a flawless discography.) This album will not only appeal to power metal fans, but also people who love the traditional heavy metal genre.
THE MUSIC: This album shows the return of the Straight Out of Hell lineup, which I would consider a perk. The album is a lengthy one, clocking in at 61 minutes with 13 songs (some versions of this album have two bonus tracks, while others have three or four!) This lineup has proven that they could put out some great music, and they do not fail to deliver on this album. Expect to hear Dani Löble pounding away at the drums, Sascha and Michael shredding away, and Andi Deris giving all he's got. The chemistry is definitely there, and only adds to the overall experience. Now, onto the tracks themselves.
THE SONGS: Heroes is a solid track, with a heavy opening riff. The song then transitions into a bass riff with Deris' first appearance on the album. The chorus is catchy, albeit a bit weak. I should mention that the solo starts out simple, then the drumming intensifies and the shredding kicks in, which I find interesting. The song is not a home run, but it's enjoyable. Battle's Won is the next song, which happens to be a single released beforehand. The opening riff is a bit cheesy and 'happy' sounding (Helloween is known for this, and pulls it off well) but the song gets pretty heavy afterwards. The chorus once again is cheesy, but I enjoy it. It should be said that this album is full of catchy 'sing-a-long' chorus lines. Even if you aren't a fan of this type of songwriting, I still suggest checking the album out, Helloween knows how to pull it off. The solo is also a great one. My God-Given Right (the song) follows a formula similar to Heroes, although I enjoy this one a bit more, I'm not sure why though. I can't say too much about this track. Stay Crazy also follows a similar formula. I should mention, Helloween uses this formula more than once (I've already made that clear) but they put it to good use and it doesn't get boring at all. Stay Crazy has one of my favorite chorus' on the album too, cheesy but memorable. Lost in America has some lyrics I don't enjoy all that much, but it's forgivable since it was written about an actual experience that had happened to the band. Also, this song has a great opening riff. Russian Roulé is a track I tend to skip, but it is by no means a bad song. I just feel it's not up to par with the previous four songs. The opening riff is a rather unique one, and makes this song stick out from the others. Again, not a bad song, it just doesn't hold my interest.
The Swing of a Fallen World changes things up. Instead of following the structure of the other six songs, this song slows down a bit, creating more of an 'epic' atmosphere rather than an 'energetic' one. This is one of my favorites, if not, my favorite song on the album. Andi's voice is amazing on this song. I love the mellow beginning of the solo, which transitions into a fast section, then slowing back down to a mid-tempo pace, this whole song is fantastic. Like Everybody Else is a power ballad, a good one for that matter. The main problem is that it suffers from the same problem as Russian Roulé, it's a good song, it just doesn't interest me as much as the other songs on the album, and more often than not is skipped. Creatures in Heaven starts out with an interesting keyboard intro, and contains a pretty heavy and memorable riff. Keyboards are present throughout the whole song, appearing at different points in the song. This also happens to be one of my favorites, along with the next song, If God Loves Rock 'n' Roll. As you can probably already tell by the title, the lyrics are extremely cheesy, although it doesn't bother me too much (Except for one section I'll explain in a moment.) This song shows a return to the songwriting structure of the first half of the album, which is not a negative aspect by any means (at least in my opinion.) Andi's vocal performance is fantastic on this song, especially on the chorus. The breakdown where Deris songs, "Even in Heaven you need a bass guitar - yeah a guitar - woah and a second guitar - here we go!" takes away from the songs enjoyability in my opinion, I get that Helloween likes to write some cheesy songs, but this section just irritates me. Anyways, Living on the Edge also follows the ever-present song structure, but doesn't do much to stick out from the rest. The solo is rather heavy and is the best part of the song. The song as a whole is a little forgettable. Claws is a song that I would consider one of the highlights of the album. Not much can be said about this song, other than it's one of the heaviest songs on the album. It could have been a minute or two shorter, but I'm just nitpicking at this point. Finally, (Emphasis on finally,) we have reached the last song. You, Still of War starts off with an soft and eerie intro, then transitions into a galloping riff and drum beat. The keyboards are subtle, yet add a lot to this song. Clocking in at 7 minutes and 22 seconds, it's the longest song on the album, and like The Swing of a Fallen World and a few others, has a song structure unique from the rest of the album. There's some great chemistry shown in the guitar solo, and I enjoy this song. To be honest, it's a bit of an underwhelming ending to this rather long album, but it's enjoyable.
There's 5 more tracks appearing on different versions of the album. Some bonus tracks appear on some versions of the album while others don't. To my knowledge, no version of this album contains all 5 additional tracks, and for all I know there could be more! To prevent further complicating things, and because I have not listened to all of the extra tracks, I will not be reviewing these, and they will not affect my final score of the album.
THE VERDICT: While not as dark as it's predecessor, this album is a very enjoyable listen. It definitely exceeded my expectations and has become a frequent listen for me. If you have not already listened to the album, I'd recommend you pick this album up from your nearest Best Buy or wherever you purchase music. I give this album an 8.25/10. Songs I would recommend are The Swing of a Fallen World, Creatures in Heaven, If God Loves Rock 'n' Roll, Claws, Stay Crazy, and My God-Given Right. Thank you for taking the time to read, there will be more reviews on the way!
Wicked World is a great bonus track, I thought I should mention that.
