Great video! Love how you put it together! Thanks for stopping by, was awesome to have you over!
Always a plessure to see your fish room 🥰 great video sean 😀
Thanks for having us really amazing setups you have!
You guys are inspiration. I need a bigger home because of all the tanks I've been setting up.
People in Germany and England started keeping tropical fish in the 1870s, before electricity was available to the masses. They kept them without all the mechanics just fine. Check out the Victorian aquariums that still exist today online.
Electricity exist at that time
@@JyajAquaticPlants Yes, it did. That is not what I posted. I posted, " before it was available to the masses".
they had HOB filters back then
You're a sneaky filmer! I didn't even realize you were filming some of that stuff. Sorry for crashing in on the audio with my livestream! I had a blast and look forward to hanging out again soon!
No worries man. I’m ready for more board games when you are.
All you need is a kickstand...😏
Hayley: 🙄Hold my beer...
🤣😂
It’s cool to see these setups. Not sure I’d go filterless myself, but if it’s working for others maybe someday. Love those lime green enderlers LRB has!
The Rope Fish😍 and Haley has one of the greatest fish rooms I've ever seen a tour of 😍I've seen it a few times before, but always ready to see it again! Haley is an incredible fishkeeper and she knows her stuff! I'm with you on the low boys that is just an incredible tank! If I had the room I would have one sitting right in the middle somewhere in my own house. And her pond, WOW!! What I'm really saying is...it's all WOW!!
You and James, Ed, LRB and Haley all together were so much fun!!! Seriously y'all are some of the most amazing people in the fish community! I don't watch TV and I've said this before, you guys are like my movie stars! I love seeing y'all on adventures! I can't even imagine how much fun it would be to go to a fish club or a fish swap meet, especially with this gang.. thanks guys for bringing me along! And what a score with those gobies!!! I can't get enough of those little guys!! They are just beautiful!!
LRB is just incredible and one of the first people I found when coming into the fish fam and community!! I'll never forget the first time I was in the chat on a live stream, the first question I asked was about planaria! 🤣🤣🤣I only have java fern, shrimp, and some of his gold galaxies... I'm so proud to own them and make sure to tell everybody where they came from!! Name dropping at its best 🤣🤗😁 if it hadn't been for LRB I would have never made such an amazing friend as I have in Father Fish! I remember when I saw your video "Sandy caps"I called him and said you won't believe who did a video featuring you!! He really thinks the world of you! And very impressed with your videos!! He was truly excited!! As was I 😁🤗🙏 I've been following you for a while!!! Lurking on Pecktec for a good amount of time! But I'm always here watching and liking! And leaving my long comments 🤣 they are from the heart though!!
Thank you for taking us on this adventure! Watching your videos has inspired me and I enjoy them so much! I say this all the time, but you never know who's watching that could be going through a bad time and just by watching a video helps them more than you know!! This was a wonderful video start my day especially before going on a stream with Father Fish! I might not know a lot, but I do know which direction to lead people when they want to learn about this aquarium hobby. You along with all the folks you were with are definitely people that I send other people to! I hope you have an amazing day... Thank you for sharing 🙏🤗🌿🐟🌿💚
What an awesome amazing comment! Thank you!
What an awesome amazing comment! Thank you!
@@pecktec 🤗
I went no-filter a little over a year ago on my 19 tanks (mostly small tanks, under 40 gallons) and so far its worked extremely well. Long day cycles to encourage plant growth, top off for evaporation, but no water changes in this time and lots of breeding with all of my species (livebearers and rainbowfish mostly.)
Love this video. LRB is my favorite utuber. He is awesome and so knowledgeable. I have his yellow shrimp and some of his plants. Thanks for sharing this with everyone.
No filter, no co2, no ferts, no heater, no ,plants, no fish, no water, no tank, setup
Just air
I got some rocks too
dude ive been on that air style tank for so long dude
That'll be an interesting content. Post a YT video of it 😊
Star-studded action packed. Video of the year. Enjoyed beginning to end. Thank you for filming.
🖖💞 I've had power outages longer then 4 weeks, so I know it can be done without filters. However I need to hear my tanks or I find it difficult to sleep. 🐱
Well said😁🤗 and I agree about the sound of aquariums 🤗🤗🤗🙏💚

Love the Gobies!! I have quite a few no air, no filter tanks. All my new tanks are no filter tanks. I have found that you cannot just turn off the air in a tank that has always had air. It DOES NOT go well. You have to slowly transition the fish. Some fish I am afraid to even try it on because I can't grow plants in the tank - my goldfish and my Oscars as an example.
Loved this video, I never stop learning from you. Only thing close that I have is a matten Filter. It’s been an amazing tank. It is worry free in power outages. To go filter free ........ I’m a chicken. LOL Can’t get myself to do it. Thanks for always providing great content ❣️
Thanks for sharing! Great vid - Little Bobby
Oh those gobys are gorgeous. This was an awesome video. Can't wait to see how it all turns out for Lucas. i may turn off the filters on my shrimp tank.
Nice tour there and i am also making a no filter no co2 tank cheers
Awesome video. I am a huge fan of both Hayley and Lucas, it is great that you were able to see their tanks. I have set up 3 tanks with the intention of taking the filter off after the plants have established, as of yet I have not had the nerve to do it.
Thick substrate, lots of plants, not too many fish... and, add snails. Maybe shrimp, as well.
With an open top, will probably work, unless your fish like to leap.
Omg no filters and no water changes?!!! What’s next - no water? 😆 great video!
Looks like a great large home,an acre of land...no problems with paying for all that electricity- like heating the small outdoors ponds all summer. Trust Fund? Lotto Winner?...guppies and shrimp ain't paying for all that😎 Lucas just easy livin.👍
I like Halley's perspective on aquatic things..the extra natural look..the low tanks. It would be interesting to see what she could do with a larger working space.
I came to the same conclusion with my garden ponds so now I am starting a no-filter tank next week after the soil supplements and the plants arrive. I am creating a Walsted tank so the soil covered by sand is the key.
Great video as always! I couldn't help but wonder what 300 tanks in a house would smell like.🤔
You would think. But I have to say there was no real smell to anything very clean. LRB has a bunch of them on white carpet too!
Love the fish room tours hope u get to do more
Thanks for the great video! Adorable new gobies! 😍
Wonderful tour brother.👍🏾
I don't have any sponges or media in my filters, use just for circulation but not brave enough to have no water movement at all, like some of LRB tanks. Great video 😊🍀
I have 5 planted shrimp tanks now. They are all doing amazing, I've never had water flow or filters. This is the only way I have ever done it. I wouldn't know where to start with filters. My tank room is silent and Super relaxing
Great video mate. I just did a dirted tank today.
Nice video! I would suggest that flow is more important than filtration, especially with riverine fish. The thing to remember is that if you change your filter material or wash out your sponge filters, you are removing organic material, which will eventually turn into nutrients. Those will either be used by algae or plants or both.
Cheers,
Chris
Two of my fav youtubers. I'm setting up 2 filterless tanks Ala LRB style, we'll see how it goes, could be a nightmare, could be fabulous, we'll see.
You need to do one Sean, at least one, just for the learning experience.
👍💓👍
Your best video in a long time. Thank you so much for sharing. Love seeing how others enjoy the Aquarium Hobby.
Hey brother, I told you things with work were going to get better! Look at your own smile when you are interacting with fish keepers. You looking happy again my friend, God bless.
It was a great week.
Plants got me into the hobby. Been at it a year now. 3 tanks only so far. And some tubs for plant growouts. A handful of 64oz jars, too. Someone send help.
i love how you just appeared in the beginning! its so funny
Literally look forward to your content each week. Thanks for putting it together!
Thanks that’s awfully nice to hear.
Great presentation ,, stay safe and well .. it was good to see those two , ,,, love the way you keep it real .. thank you and regards from Britain , Roland
Glad you had a chance get out and see other fish people. The gobies look promising.
thank you for all the excellent content, and not being afraid to explore all the different possibilities in aquaria! I am always entertained & also learn something when I watch your videos!
I wouldn't get anything done with those adorable gobeys in front of me!
I'm very glad I watched this video 👍😉❗️
I'm too new to the hobby to take that plunge yet. I'll stick to my sponge filters and HoBs for now. I do love those ponds though and I WILL be setting one of those up next Spring.
My set-up uses no filtration but I have lots of pothos and hornworts in there plus an aeration.
Wow!
It's an interesting way of doing things and admittedly I went through a lazy phase when I was doing one 60% water change every three months with a filter clean the following weekend with no CO2, no ferts, nothing added and my plants went crazy. They probably tripled in size, but I did have a tonne of algae and after seeing just how dirty the filter got in those three months I started doing 50% changes every two weeks and a filter clean once a month, which seems to be pretty good balance for my tank now. I have a sponge air filter in the corner which has never been cleaned and it looks like a drowned cat.
Were those tanks on CO2 supply?.
.
Amazing to see so many beautiful tanks without filters and aqua soil.. Nature is awesome on its own..
Such a great video! I really like your new Gobies and I often wonder if all this filter equipment is really necessary. Many of us probably don't have really efficent filters anyway and it's probably not doing as much as we think except costing us money. Thanks for the video and your hair looks great too! : )
Pecktec, lrb aquatics, mike from mass, dustin's fishtanks are my favourite creators that i watch. besides the king of course. But the king of diy is like popsong on the radio that you hear -want or not. and other channels i mentioned are like favourite cd's that you play when you want.
Thank you for interesting video.
Wow!! Love this fun video. I like how you make things look easy and fun. I'm always looking for the next new video from you. Thanks for your time.
Thanks for showing us your road trip. Look like you had a blast. It sounded like there was other people than you guys in Oddball Aquatics fish room. Can you go visit her? (Not that, that is possible for me, since I live in Denmark). Loved her indoor pond setup. I’d like to see you do that stuff too.
I just loved Oddball Aquatics and LRB Aquatics fish room. Love to take a tour in both their respective fish rooms
Can’t wait to see LRB Aquatics outdoor pond project finished. That looks to be an awesome project.
I’m so amazed when people can have a fish tank setup without filtration or and air and no water change and just let Mother Nature do it’s thing. Doesn’t it mean you have to be over the tank all the time or is it in fact less maintenance. I have to clean my filters and what not all the time. Well actually only once or twice a week, but still
Great video! Also very nice to see how nature Works!
I definitely would love to go on a trip like that one day
Love the vid. The no filter set up is super tempting... like you, I’m not sure I can pull the plug. I have plants, but should probably stock more first.
Does the type of substrate make a difference? That wasn’t mentioned.
I came after I saw you with that beautiful tank in Chris's 100k special and you are really an artist dude
Thanks a bunch!
Love your tank in the background. It really looks great :)
Great video!
Oh wow!!!! That was inspiring!! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks
Great video!!! Your trip seemed like a blast!
This is awesome. Very well done video and it was a pleasure having you over! Stop by anytime!!
Thanks so much for sharing your amazing setups with us.
Great video as always! I know it's possible but I'm not ready to turn my filter off but always wanted to try. Maybe I'll set up another and see what happens
I don't have a filter though its only a one gallon one at present. Snails are good to keep the algae off but I would recommend people only put snails in of different species so they don't all breed out of control.
Such pretty guppies 😍
Your tanks are buetifal I hope my aquascapes can overntually look like yours
"My back hurts just by looking at all that" lol, that's a lot of stone for that garden.
Lucas is the Man , Lucas has the best Mascara Barbs ever
A BEAR sighting...OMG...😲
Hey man, found you channel trough Chris (Fish for tought) and its nice to see a fellow Boardgamer/wargamer in this hobby aswell.
Yeah I love them for sure. Welcome aboard!
Wow ...great video really enjoyed this one....cheers
It was great meeting at the swap. Wish we had a better turn out.
Nice meeting you too!
Awesome
Interesting concept. If anything I feel I over filter but no filter? I don’t think I would be able to go down that road. I have considered sponge filters as a possible alternative to the hang on the back filters I currently use.
Fascinating!
Nice to see that you finally visited Lucas... Howe’s that anoxic tank going? You’ll be able to go filterless on that one. :)
Good so far!
Great video
You can do no filters in fresh and salt as long as you keep up with it.
Great video. I took the leap of faith about a year ago and shut down and removed all filtration from two of my aquariums. And so far, so good. Really good. I'm running anoxic filtration with a plenum as you discussed in another video. Which method will win? Does there have to be a winner? 😉
crazy to think hes in florida now
I guess all the big aquariums have it all wrong!!
I have a filterless 10g shrimp tank
Must do an update on that guy's pond once it is done.
neat
I'm a 100% beliver in no filter aquarium systems. But i would never do it. I just think if you can have that extra filtration why not use it? But i would love to try it out someday
2 faves
Interesting video - wish you wore masks!
what species is that in the top of your waterfall?
not scared
I have 1 tanks no filters
And I 4 that has only 1 air bubble
Plants Are key
Did you ask them how and how much they feed?
LRB does once a day.
4:54 what fish is that?
Check out Foo the Flowerhorn channel! He’s got several tanks without filtration and they’re amazing 😬
Yeap I mentioned him.
Oh my! 😳 I missed that part...lol. 🤦♀️ I know you can do at least one tank unfiltered 😬👍 You got this!!!
Pecktec have you tried Gloomhaven? I want to purchase it but not sure...
I played that jaws of the lion version. It was pretty fun. It’s a more adorable way to see if it’s the game for you.
@@pecktec excellent! Gonna go for it then! I trust you and I was going for the jaws of the lion game so its great to hear that.
I'm scared
Is this some rich person joke I'm too poor to understand? Kidding, though not entirely. For some, the most accessible start to aquariums is taking a big jar and filling it with dirt, water, plants, and bugs from a local pond. Airtight seal and everything, lowest possible tech, sometimes even using sunlight instead of a lamp. Costs all of 10 bucks usually.
Just talking past the marketing a bit.
without all those plants he would need filters or else u can't even see inside tank I need filtration for my african cichlids I bet u if he had Africans cichlids he would need filters
Of course in this case the plants are the filter. If your fish won’t let you have them you have to seek other options.
24:36 Plan a series of staged experiments. :D
Don't leave those guitars in your aquarium room....
Quick to the point I don't want to hear about board games I want to hear about aquariums
I stopped watching your posting because it seems like you never got to the point I ran out of patience thank you have a nice day
The point was self evident. Look at all the success some folks have had without them.
Awesome
