I love how lots of bands are bringing back lots of older sounds into more modern ones. Bands like Citizen with grunge, Turnover with shoegaze, Ocean Grove with grunge and nu metal, etc

I remember going through Air Force basic training and singing this song to myself while doing EC duty at 2am. Was so obsessed with it and it still holds a special place in my heart when I was alone and overwhelmed. Was the first song I played once I graduated
In Navy boot camp, I’d write songs from my favorite bands in my notebook because we didn’t have music (slaughter beach dog, mobo, citizen, movements etc) and this was one was one of them.

Back in 2014, I couldn’t go to sleep unless I listened to Youth in full. A few months down the track I attempted suicide and wanted to listen to Youth one last time before I left. Somewhere in that listen, I was pulled out of it. I saw them live not long after that and met Mat and told them they helped me through a lot and they hugged me and it was one of the most special moments of my life. Citizen saved my fucking life and continue to still now.

last year i broke up with a girl who made me very bad, made me feel insufficient and empty, and in the end i ended up being seen with a toxic person, but i didnt do anything wrong, i would give her the world, no longer she say "I love you" to me, today I hear this song to remember the good (and few) moments I had with her, but mainly, not making the same mistakes and being able to find someone who really likes me just as I will like.
Good for you and you will meet someone who values you, gives you warmth and compliments your measures of comfort and personality qualities. My partner and I are going to work on eachother and ourselves individually. I gave up alcohol last August and she's just given up now herself. Better communication and compromise for sincere understanding of one another feelings. This band and Fiddlehead have been my heart ripper tones for months and months and months. She found me when I backed right off and went silent. I'm glad it scared her to realise what she was losing. "It's me or the bottle and I moved to my brothers." I actually feel significant again for once in my relationship. Your story touched me my friend and thanks for sharing. You will find someone meaningful of your values. This song got me thru really hard times...thru pain suffering and my own bloodshed from heartbreak so many tears so many self inflicted scars....
These songs saved my life when I was in another country, totally lost in my thoughts and the lack of goals. The only anchor was a girlfriend on mine that waited me and these songs that were keeping this spark of hope within myself. Thank you!

I can't believe it's been 6 years since I discovered this track and this album, I miss the album youth as well as my youth (bye, bye teens & 20s 😞)
I can understand where people find these guys boring because the first time I ever heard them I thought the same but then something clicked the more and more I listened to the Young States EP and I fell in love. Some of their songs are almost like grunge revival and thats definitely pretty rad.
Damn this album really is one of the best albums ever made
Wow I remember seeing these guys in Michigan a few years back OPENING FOR LOCALS. Brothers, Act As One, Living Like Ghosts and The Right Stuff at the Howell Opera House. It is amazing to see how much this band has progressed. Mad respect for all their hard work. Solid song and album.

saw them live in washington during Warped Tour, was front row on the side stage. I had no idea who they were until i asked the guy to my left, I go "holy shit who are they?" now I have a Youth shirt signed by them, and the cd as well. The whole band is awesome they are really cool guys.
