Very good documentary, should watch with family, and listen the narration by the core of heart. Highly enriched and civilized history. The great LUCKNOW.

    Beautifully made..brings back fond memories.
None of these erstwhile nawabs ever thought of establishing powerful educational institutions. Thanks to a French foot soldier and the British we have La Martiniere, Loreto and the Medical college. On the contrary,
kings of Kerala not only encouraged the arts, music, dance and theatre but also established many educational institutions. King Swati Tirunal had built seperate quarters for Mirza galib when he was invited to his court.
Wajid Ali Shaw used up tax payers money for his arts and 365 concubines. Poverty was rife and people remained illiterate. Correct me if am wrong.
I came across an old, limited edition, coffee table book ' LUCKNOW' where the entire history of Lucknow was there for those seeking. The pages had beautiful illustrations of La Martiniere college still under construction. It said that there was constant competition between wajid Ali shaw and Claud Martin to out do each other in architecture. Often Gen Martin would make a dummy structure to distract the nawabs spies from his actual venture.
Having said that, I loved everything about lucknow.

Unfortunately no word has been applied to mention the most important face of Lucknow. Majlises, Imambaras and similar representations . Lucknow had mostly Muslim face. Other religions do not form the bases.
