I think Tundra will get better at the pool. It just takes time. Mine loves the water. It sure wears them out, which is a good thing. Her friend is cute too.💜🐾🐾🐾💜
They surely do love water once managed to master swimming, but oddly enough, for some mysterious reason this breed needs a bit longer time for it. Nonetheless, they certainly arrive to be water-dogs, too.
They want to be there before the ball - just for everybody to know, they are better than the ball(!). What a wonderful life they have, great parents in an awesome large home with pool. Hahaha..."desert-dog" - that was sweet. Our baby didn't know he can swim, so his dad did the same as you, took him in his arm into the water than released him and he swam to the shore and repeat. He has learned to be a "water-dog" and he really loved it. Thank you for sharing these moments here.

@@tundrathegsp Dante was the miraculous glue that kept us together and made our house a home. It is wonderful to have some moments shared here, from your life - ours was very similar. Yes, my hubby got Dante from a hunter friend who was also a licensed GSP breeder but in very short time he was truly my permanent alter-ego, he became like an extension of myself. Tundra will be the same very soon to you both, if she hasn't gotten there yet. Thank you for your sweet replies. 😊😊💕💕
@@rosemariemocan357 My pleasure, reading your comments is like reading a short romantic poem. I take pleasure in it. I had a German shepherd/malinois that passed away about 6 years ago. Everything you say makes me think of her. My heart broke for the first time ever when she passed and it continued to break year after year. To this day I think of her when I see green open pastures and I wish so much I could have her back on my side. Nothing will replace her. So I enjoy every moment I have with Tundra because I know one day I will miss her the same way.

Trundra looked like she was a bit unsure in the pool . Look like she wanted the orange ball our gsp has a ball the same as tht one and she doesn’t like our other gsp to have it 🤣so we have had to get 2 the same 😂I wonder if she would be better in there on her own because her friend was flying about 🤣and her friend made her scared 😀
Something about that orange ball huh 🧐lol all the dogs fight over that ball at the dog park. I agree, Tundra does get intimidated and scared of Myla’s energy in the pool. We have to do a structured pool time where we make them take turns inside the pool. Myla does have a pair of wings on her lol she has crazy energy! Awwww that’s so sweet you got one ball for each of them. 🥰🥰🥰
@@tundrathegsp yes I could see tht myla had loads of energy … yes I think scheduled ones in the pool would be better for her otherwise it might put her off going in there because they get fearless I know our ones don’t really like the water we have a little pool in the garden for them to go in our younger one just puts her feet in it🤣yes our younger gsp won’t let any dog have tht ball when she is off the lead . That’s her ball 😂😂😂. She gets upset if a other dog gets tht ball 🤩
My first GSP didn't like to swim. I''m not sure he even knew how. He did like to wade in the water though. He would stand in the river and let the water flow into his mouth to get a drink. RIP 4/15/2022. My second GSP swims good but he isn't crazy about the water. He needs something to fetch. My third GSP also is not a swimmer but also likes to be in the water as long as she can touch bottom. I had a Plott who had scales and fins. She was a great swimmer.
Not sure why some like water and some don’t. Tundra isn’t that into being in water but her friend Mila is. We had to somewhat encourage her that its ok to be in there. She is more of a land/mountain GSP I suppose 😄
Like I've mentioned somewhere above, for some reason they need to be thought to swim. All the dogs I had before him just swam when in water, my GSP didn't. It took about 15 training sessions until he felt confident in water but from there was no stopping if he saw pool, a lake or swamp no matter how smelly and gross it was.

I have had GSPs that were were like Mila in the water and others that didn't like getting their belly wet.

I have two as well and both crazy around calm water. At the beach my female is fearless and loves the waves my male not so much.
