Very nice video. I want to make a coalmine substation using the Hornby Models. So far I have the short headstock (Minus the Building) A fan house and a winding motor house. There is a drift fan model and a compressor house. It is the way in which they should be set up that worries me. Martin Dhaka, Bangladesh.) Home is in Thailand.
Hi Martin and thank you for kind comment. Regarding a typical layout, as usual Google is your friend :-) I just had a quick try and the first site I came across which might be a useful starting point was www.igg.org.uk/rail. Follow the links to Lineside Industries, Coal Mines. I am not affiliated to this site and I'm sure there are many more on the web. Happy modelling, TWD
Good spot. That's because all the buildings in this diorama are HO scale (1:87) whereas all the figures included are from a Dapol set in OO scale (1:76). Reason being is the rest of my layout is OO but I could not source a suitable mining kit in that scale. I hope it didn't spoil your enjoyment of it too much.
Thanks T Davies for your prompt explanations, but keep in mind that you did a nice job.. Congratulations..! Daniel from North France -retired coal miner with silicosis due to coal dust-I'm very sick..!
Sorry to hear that my friend, I wish you well. I am planning to post a new video of a coal gas generation plant later this year with more sound and movement. And before you ask, yes this will include HO scale buildings from the excellent Walthers range and more OO Dapol figures so apologies in advance ;-)
Thanks for your kind wishes. About your next project, please don't fail to let me know..! I worked as coal miner from 1980 to 2002 ,I'm still alive but most of my friends are gone since many years. Last pit closed in 2004..
Dialogue funny as heck, wonderful animation.
