  • Memories of Growing up in the 1970s in Seaburn Sunderland
I was unable to come up with the artwork to go with this so I took pictures from google I hope you enjoy.
Jed who is mentioned in this song, a very good friend for most of my life.
A very funny, loving, kind hearted person who recently sadly passed away and I sadly miss and will never forget I dedicate this song to his memory

I met a swedish gent and i presume his daughter and her husband. The elderly gent was telling me he had lost his wife six months ago and met her on Dykelands Road when they were young and they went to the Seaburn Dances. He asked if Notreannies were still open told him no. I informed him if he went to Minchellas and asked for Sandra she used to be one of the notreannies. He had come back for a visit. It would have been a wonderful story for the Echo but alas it never happened and they are probably back home in Sweden by now. Lovely people to meet. And lovely to hear about the past history of Sunderland.

I was a teen in the 1970's and had great times at Seaburn fair, the ghost train, hoop la, air rifles, coconut stall, amusement arcade, candy floss, the boating lake, the minature train fish and chips to finish !, wish i had a time machine.
