DIY Mason Bee Nesting Box

- A simple nesting box design for the native bees in your neighborhood. Some left over 1x8, 1x4, an old sign pulled out of the dump and a couple of exterior grade screws make up this humble but effective addition to the homestead. Make sure your box is facing southeast and hung before the weather hits a solid 55 degrees. You'll be glad you did- these little bees pack quite a punch when it comes to pollination. Always research and be sure to look for future videos as we track how this little nest performs. As always ENJOY!

Just built our first two mason bee houses following your design! It looks amazing, and the clamped boards with a drill bit was genius as we couldn't locate a round nosed router. Just one question - how in the world did you manage to drill in so straight?? In the end, I had to use my drill press to start each hole so they would continue straight! Finally, loved how you decorated your inserts. Indeed, all good things come from above! Thanks for the great vid!

That's funny! I actually downloaded Shazam to give that a try (Soundhound couldn't identify it either). I've listened to it a dozen times just to keep the background music playing, it's so calming. I just went to Home Depot to get my lumber to follow your design. Now I need to find an old license plate for a roof :)

Do you get any honey from the boxes or is it a sleeping spot for them?
No honey, this is just a nesting place for the females to produce more offspring. More babies means more pollinators!
