Newfoundland's most popular band celebrated their 20th anniversary with an intimate concert at Toronto's Danforth Music Hall in November. CBC Music was on hand to record the party and now you can enjoy all of the fun! This is the song "Excursion Around the Bay". - Hudba

A good friend of mine turned me on to GBS and I've been a fan ever since. Saw them live 4 times, including my ATF show. Also got the pleasure of being in an irish pub after one of their shows when the band walked in, and got to have several beers with them. They might have stayed because I was with a group of very attractive women, but I was there too ;)

The two Great Big Sea shows I’ve been two are easily among my favourite concert experiences... their music takes on a whole new life in person.
Great band!Great accent,amazing how it still has inflections from the old world, especially Irish.Newfoundlanders seem to be a proud people who never forgot their roots.Would love visit there one day, being Irish.Might even have distant relations there, who knows!

They don't tour together anymore :-( I've seen them live 3 times great shows.

I read that Russell Crowe loves this group! "Excursion Around the Bay" by Great Big Sea
Russell Crowe and Alan Doyle are friends, Doyle being the lead singer of this group. They've performed all over the place together and Doyle was in Robin Hood with Crowe.
