Adam Paul Steed should receive compensation from BYU and Jodi Hildebrant for the way he was treated. BOTH of them are guilty of causing him undue harm.
He would have, but church leaders convinced him not to sue because he'd be taking away from "tithe payers money," and as a good Mormon, he couldn't bear to do that.
Nevermind those same leaders have no qualms with extorting that money themselves.

Former Bishop who served at BYU as a Bishop left 7 years ago. I am only half way through this episode absolutely blown away at this episode. Thank you for reposting. Keep shinning a light on the darkness that has been clothed in sheep’s clothing. Countless times I asked myself as a Bishop what would Christ do only to realize it is not what the “Church” does. Wolf in Sheep’s clothing. I wish it wasn’t but its hard to call it anything else.

It’s incredibly sad how deep the corruption lies and how easily we were all manipulated to believe it was the truth, the only true church, the only way to have true happiness, the only way back to God etc….. sucks for all the wonderful people who only believe they are doing what’s right, but so many know the truth and continue to follow blindly.

I’m feeling the same.
I wasn’t in a place to be able to watch it when it first came out and then it was taken down and it’s still extremely hard to hear this and I’m so triggered by this shit but people need to talk about this because silence protects the predator and we need to take the power away from the predators. If we don’t bring these things into the light or nothing will ever change and things desperately need to change.
Adam is a hero. I can’t fathom how he made it through all this abuse. His adolescence and adult life was se stolen by intense abuse and manipulation from church, state, and a licensed healthcare sociopath.
I think Jodi is a lesbian.

who enjoys breaking up heterosexual marriages and taking control of the wife's mind.
Jodi may have repressed sexual feelings for the women she is "helping"?

Six hour interview. SIX HOURS. That’s how much trauma this church has caused Adam Steed, someone who is extraordinarily brave and who has my utmost respect.
I am an ex LDS member from Spain, a convert, who left the Church more than 20 years ago. I HOPE THIS MESSAGE GETS TO ADAM. He, as well as his dad, are the GREATEST examples of resilience, bravery and courage against evil. What he endured was OBNOXIOUS and ABHORRENT and the way they fought it, not only for himself but all the abused kids in Idaho is ASTONISHING.
And this first interview he is giving, regardless of what they left on his car, will acquaint THE WHOLE WORLD about the Mormon Church and the Boys Scouts and will therefore PREVENT IT from happening to thousands of children.
That Jodi is obviously the worst kind of NARCISSIST. Most evil people are and they choose professions where they are trusted, the do the most harm. I had a nasty experience with a therapist as well. Fortunately, I detected her in time and got away from her. I have been a victim of domestic abuse all my life, although not sexual, and the time has come to fight back against my abusers and the rest of them, that we unfortunately encounter in life. Adam has given my again the courage I once had.
Adam is a damn likeble dude, who's been thru 50 lifetimes of trauma. Can someone please bring down this predatory religion?

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I know there's nothing that can ever truly take away the pain of losing a child and I thankfully don't know that pain personally but I've been there with others close to me that have gone through it. All I can say is that keep your son close and keep his memory alive the best you can and most importantly, LIVE for him! Don't forget to take care of yourself, mentally and physically. Be kind to yourself, take time to yourself when you need it, and don't be afraid to treat yourself and give yourself some self care, even if it's only something small and simple. Get outside and enjoy nature and appreciate its beauty and breathing fresh air. Also, remember to have patience with your loved ones who are also grieving, everyone deals with it in their own way. Be there for each other to lean on and make sure everyone has someone to talk to and support one another. Do stuff together as a family. Make that time for each other. Let this be the glue that holds the family together and not the downfall that splits you apart! That one's really important! Especially if you have a spouse and other children. Make sure they know that you're there for them and that you need them too. And remember, you're much stronger than you think and I know that this is incredibly painful but I PROMISE you that there is still life past this, you will find yourself again and be able to enjoy life!
Hang in there. I'm sending my love and prayers for you and your family! You will get through this!

Calling a child coming forward about their abuse a "whistleblower" is disturbing on so many levels.
You are not alone Adam. As a survivor of incest i want to thank you for your courage and strength. My shame and fear stopped me from confronting the truth with my family...i became an alcoholic and was not able to deal with anything until i finally had to ask help with my alcoholsm. It took a long time to recover. I eventually became a Crisis Intervention Counslor and was finally able to help others just like me. Continue on your journey so you can heal more along with others like you by your side. Once again thankyou Adam...💙🙏💙 God Bless

Jodi Hildebrant needs to go through a trial. I understand sparing the Franke children, but there are so many other victims out there that she should have to sit through a trial with discovery, with a jury of her peers, and with witness impact statements.

I agree she should have had a trial. She took a plea deal because a trial would have seen Ruby Franke’s diary being used against them in court, and that diary was damning! It wasn’t up for interpretation, it said word for word what they were doing to those kids and why they were doing it, and it would have crucified them both.

My sister followed the Hildebrandt plan, but I believe it was under guidance from a friend of hers who had been a previous Hildebrandt cult devotee. She feels no remorse or shame for torpedoing her family. Mormon culture crafts malignant narcissists like no other in the world.

Adam is so incredibly brave for sharing his story while still being traumatised and retraumatised. I hope that he will find peace and healing going forward. Trauma recovery is a long and exhausting process and I can only wish him the very best.
It was so refreshing to see Adam smile and joke about being live towards the end and see his absolute joy and love for his wife and her support. "The light in his eyes"...so beautiful ❤️

Yes, a horrible woman. Being stupid is just a lottery of life or lack of proper education or at least the lack of curiosity and critical thinking, but being also cruel to this man is beyond evil. Very glad I get to see this. It was taken down before I could see it on Mormon Stories. Adam Steed is so brave. He is a hero, like many people say. He and his family changed laws and thus lives. I hop e Adam Steed gets real justice and a huge settlement. The Mormon Church did purposefully destroy his life, or try to. Adam has persevered. I love when Adam calls his wife," my sweet wife". I am rooting for him big time. The Mormon Church MUST be held accountable!
I saw him give a statement at Jodi's sentencing and had heard about the missing episode, so I'm glad to finally be able to hear it. I'm only about two hours in but everything he's saying is so relatable. The way documents are triggering, and the ways he gets overwhelmed, all of it is deeply familiar. I have so much respect for this dude. It's hard to listen to but it's the truth.
This is such a devastating story. I want to watch it because its so important, but i have to watch it in segments because its ao triggering. Thank you for bringing evil into the light. This man is beyond courageous.

Adam Steed, in my eye is a bloody hero for doing this and for what he has been through. Son of Ruby R , and Adam have a lot of the same traits in the way that both have come forward. This takes such guts and I have absolute respect for what you have done and said. I do hope that Adam doesn’t go back to the Mormon Church. Jodi is the devil incarnate.
The church should be held accountable for this constant abuse!!!! I am so angry! We have all been duped into thinking that this criminal corporation is sanctioned by god! I have been going down the Jodi/Ruby rabbit hole for days. This interview solidifies my opinion that Kevin Franke was brainwashed and why he had almost no contact with his wife and children over a 13 month period.

Hope more of the victims step forward to tell their story. We need to straighten out legal, court system, mental health, and this controlling religiosity over people’s lives.

This guy has managed to turn trauma into life changing acts of heroism and service. Watching him take that mic...pretty sure I jumped up and cheered. Hes has had repeatedly a boot to the neck, and said "Not today".
I understand where hes coming from and often Ive found myself "rambling" through details robotically and compulsively and sometimes in clumsy blocks, so the eye rolling discomfort of the talking heads mean nothing.

Told her about it months ago but don’t think she understood the depth of the Jodi Hilderbrandt story. Now that the news is FINALLY getting on board she is interested. Thank you! Thank you for uploading it again. I watched it live and I was so outraged when it was taken down that I found it on someone's open access drive on the Internet to download & save it to send it to people--feeling this overwhelming sense of protection over Adam. This needs to be heard!
This is the thing about sexual victims, people underestimate how much sexual assault victims are disassociated from their abuse. It takes so long for them face the reality of what happened to them-happened. Quite frankly, this interview was triggering for me. I identify with scattered way of thinking. I identify with his motive to confront-which was to stop the abuse to others.I’m glad Adams dad did what he did. This is difficult for parents too, and takes tenacity, privilege, and persistence to achieve all that he achieved.
Oh my gosh I live in the community in Idaho he is from, I pass the scouting center in town to get home. It always feels sinister. It's always empty.
The town is a lot less Mormon now, and I'm non Mormon as well, but I do see the cultish mentality where members dont question their allegiance to the church, keep any problems on the inside, and take threat from outsiders or people who speak out. I can completely see how the mentality created by the church would keep people from coming forward to speak up about abuse. Knowing this world of abuse has been hiding right under my nose... thank God for people like Adam coming forward and exposing it, and for Adam's dad to fight not only for Adam's case, but for the cases of all abused children in Idaho. I have a little baby boy right now and I just can't fathom this abuse happening to him.
I wish I could say I can't believe people would threaten Adam, but unfortunately I do believe it. I just pray for their safety, health and happiness moving forward, and I am so thankful for his bravery so I can truly know what's happened here, and have more information on how to protect my son.

Adam, you are BRILLIANT and so compassionate. I am near the end of this interview. It is a harrowing story. If you feel compelled, file a civil suit against " take your pick". Continue your education. Do the career you want. Help your parents get their retirement money back.

I just want to say, as a surviver of some complex relational trauma, the reason why our speach patterns get diffrent, we sometimes lose our thoughts, make awqward pauses when we try talk about the ACTUAL trauatising things, is cuz our brain trys to protect us from touching up on it to keep us from retraumatising ourselfs. Bevore I could even talk to my therapist about what happended to me I would get super tired and my brain would fog up when I even tried thinking about it. Our brains are incredibile and what Adam is doing here over and over again is SOOOOOOO HARD! You can't even imagin. And that in the public eye as well.

I also watched your interview with Jesse. With both victims of JH, who have painstakingly managed to move forward with courage and the support they have received, you listened attentively, interrupted only when necessary, explained some concepts for your broader audience, and connected the dots to the Mormon hierarchy and doctrine to help us understand the broader issues here. Bravo and much love to all three of you!

Currently here, too, there seems to be an ephidemic of therapists or almost therapists erasing the boundaries between religious beliefs and theraphy ethics with all the dangerous effects it might have.
