  • How to replace engine air filter for Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 with the OM651 engine. According to mb documents you should carry out a resetting of the contamination level of the air filter. I did some reading about this on different mb forums and is not seems that important, and I have hard to think all independent dealers doing that. If you have some information about it please make a comment below 👍

Let me know how often you change the engine air filter.
According to MB service schedule for this engine is only need to be changed 75.000 kilometer / 4 years whatever coming first.
What I heard so far is seems that many change it way before and do it yearly with the oil change. This was changed after 3 years, how about you?

Thanks 🤟 It looked really bad, and as you say on the snow. Luckily it seemed in good condition inside but I guess some of the air flow goes bad because of all dirt.

Thank you for making 'right to repair' possible for my car. Or right to self service...
I just figured out the hard way that I need the 64mm high filter, got the bigger one, naturally. My bad, didn't check under the cover before I bought.
Is there any way to know the right filter size for the various models of W212 ( have the 200hp diesel T-model)

Would say cabin air filter, engine air filter and engine oil is really easy to do at home.
I think many believe it would be hard and leave it to the dealer, but to be honest many dealer does really bad jobs and doesn’t car at all if they brake clips or things like that.
That’s why I prefer doing all the things at home. You know it have been properly done. Is another deal with new car if you going to sell it you kinda need the official service stamps to not lose value.
Hope is solve for you bro and is not expensive repair, let me know how is going 👊

Yess sir is really that’s easy, and I would recommend anyone that’s never did service at home to try first with the cabin filter because that’s hard to brake some expensive thing 🙈
Best thing about doing this at home you know after everything is done properly, and is not really a big deal if you brake some clips, many mechanics do that all the time they don’t care to much 🔥
