There is nobody else that rides a bike like Armstrong. He still is thrilling to watch, and such a great inspiration. I know...he is a fallen hero, but not in my book. Watching him ride helped me through some very tough times and I will never forget that. Thanks for the memories!
Cheat
Its obvious he even used a motor
sorry you have such miths...
Well said
Doping is one thing , but Armstrong on many occasions made threats to anyone who would spill the beans . Awful person.
Why is it that every time I look at Armstrong in these old tours I get chills. He just looks weird and different than everyone else. It's like he's more honed in than anyone else. It's like the others want to finish and he's willing to die.
Adam Bruss it's called P.E.D's....performance enhancing drugs. he for what ever reason , responded really well to the benefits
Richard Marino everyone was on dope I think the fact that he almost dead is why he wasn't afraid to push himself close to death.
Steve Allen ..he got a better dope much more then everyone.
Un hp ..tramposo.quw acabo con los sueños de otros ciclistas.
Sure he doped, but he was superbly talented, had a great team supporting him and trained better than he raced. If all it took to win the Tour was taking drugs, then there’d be a crowd on the podium.
Not saying what he did was good or fair, but he was the greatest of his time.
Great days. Armstrong-superb. Put these wins back in the books.
the good old time, with Lance and Ulrich. I miss those century driver
It's a shame!
armstrong the legend. best ever. 7 times winner of tour de france. all the other big drivers also have doped.
mate this has not aged well at all
He looked so comfortable on the bike compared to his peers. Even when pulling out a gap on them. Fantastic cadence and posture on the bike.
Because lance was on more drugs.
@@chrisbatson3402 in 02 he wasnt on any drugs.. get the facts right
@@karl8805 dude Lance Armstrong said himself to the world that " he used epo for all seven victories" where have you been?
@@chrisbatson3402 he wasn't on "more" drugs, his hematocrit was constantly tested and wasn't anything unusual. "Doped more than the others" would be Jan Ulrich who abused the shit out of EPO use in the mid 90s and went from zero to her in literally one race
@@KekusMagnus Do all your friends get similiary intoxicated on same amount of alcohol? Face it Lance was a good(not great) cyclist who happened to team up with the best doping doctor ever and then had a generational response to the dope, superresponder.
I keep saying this. I'd much rarther watch these EPO fueld races. Enrertainment.
You still do in 2021 mate. All sports.
@@DurianriderCyclingTips But not to this extend when one man dominating
lance!!!
great video of the tdf 2002. this climb look very tough even for a semi pro rider in the USA.
Lance is my spirit animal.
Look at the cadence. What an amazing cyclist. Absolute monster.
A drug monster
On a 39/25 aswell
@@alessandrodorsi9800 Like everyone else. Lance's technique, mentality and overall preparation was still superior.
@@alessandrodorsi9800the *best of *all* the drug monsters. 🏆
Yea best cheater in the world, amazing. He cheated better then the rest.
@kinered LOL. Heras, Rubiera, Mayo, Vinokurov, Ullrich, all dope artists.
Like the other 95% of the Peloton!
It’s cycling baby. Tell me cycling wasn’t better when these guys had blood the consistency of molasses
Greatest Tour champion ever.
💯 why ulrich and pantani didn't have theyr tours stripped because they where all doped anyway , it's unfair to lance that his rivals got to keep theirs but he got stripped
Lance could have won this stage by 3+ minutes if he wanted to
lance the G.O.A.T #7
Amstrong the Legend
haha beloki also doped,
Hammer climbers ... Lance and Jan
Really I miss to much the 2001- 2002 and 2003 climb stages (complete) , like this specially the incredible powers of Rubierta- Heras- Armstrong, destroying Ullrich, Vinokourov, Mayo, Beloki. Were amazing, if someboy have please uploa COMPLETE
Dang I totally forgot the tour used to be on versus
Are there DVDs of the tours? Might be worth dropping the coin for high quality complete.
Adam Bruss
I'd want full race DVDs to!
LOL "Beloki" That's how the substitute teacher in Keye & Peele pronounced "Blake"
Hahahahah thought the same!!!!
Armstrong the LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!
Cornelius Maximilianus Armstrong the CHEATER!!!!!!!!!!
The juicy boy
@@wtookey But you support 'cheaters' who haven't been exposed and watch the Olympics etc.
It’s a spectator sport.... who really cares about the doping.? Only the french because they couldn’t get near him with their riders at the time
@@stevebennett6727 their riders who also doped, just like literally 90% of the peleton. Lance was better than them AND doped. He recently claimed he would sustain 500W for these hillclimb stages, these are superhuman numbers doped or not
He was the best.
Dr. Fuentes
Respect lance the goat
Such a dark time for cycling & then theres Lance - a special kinda beast drugs or no drugs, just too fucking good! At a time when they were all doing it in some way shape or form. Rampant in so many sports, particularly the Olympics. Lance but a scape goat. He deserved better IMHO.
Lance is and was a narcissistic bully. I'll never ever understand you Lance and Trump apologists and your willing ignorance
When you consider that everyone is doping its a level playing field.
No way anyone else was doping . Just him. Ha
Wrong. Doping affects everyone differently

Viv La Lance !!! Beast
Lance Armstrong, simply the best cyclist of last therty years
You can see the cheating with every pedal stroke.
Allow me to correct. Lance Armstrong, simply the best doper of all time
Hugo Hahn still the best of cyclist of our time. He wasn’t the only top clyclist doping back than
You see all the weak minded that commented already. They fail to believe that everyone was doping and that the absolute better cyclist won and was the scapegoat for all those that doped because of that. Many got zero shame because they doped and were not good enough to win. Greatest of all time and one of the biggest scapegoats of all time. He won all 7 of them no matter what the rewritten books say!
Doped..
Dope king of the mountain
1:50 "Roberto Heras is just shitting there"
they look as though they re pedalling on a flat road ... impressive ! they are phenomenal but nobody can keep that cadence when climbing without doping let s face it !
*unless you shift down
Lower gear ratio didn't cross your mind? You don't have to grind up hills.
hum...a High cadence IS normal for a moutain biker....you don't practice cycling...
très belle performance des us postal, en particulier d'Armstrong.
aupa joseba
To look that comfortable climbing alps and peryenes when making attacks. One must be on some heavy milligram drugs and perfectly timed when taking.
Chris Batson as was everyone else in the race
@@drvonnostrum2671 yes everyone of course
Rump Wrangler dude just stop. Of course they did roids. That’s the very thing Landis got busted for, testosterone. Go away and learn a few things
TdF with Lance, Heras, Beloki (he had very bad luck) was much more special than now.
The DOPER
Sabino Mario Di Giacomo they were all dope. He was the best period!
Steve Allen ..a better doctor, better drugs, higher amount then evryone else. A true champion lol.
So funny to read such posts now
interesting to see the giant guys running friction for the FD and STI for the RD. If modern bikes allowed it I might consider the same setup today.
Can you translate to English for us please? Thanks :-)
@@bowser_infamously mixed shifter for front & rear derailleur. downtube shifter for front and STI shifter for the rear.
What if any benefits are there to the stated setup? Appreciate your knowledge!
@@mrbake6933 at the time my assumption is that the down tube shifter was both lighter & more effective at trim vs STI front shifter options. Today it would just be for more fine tuning of trim & maybe to allow for a wider gap than the usual 14t between big & little chainrings. I don't think I'd use it for a racing setup though .
All Pro athletes juice
Armstrong = BIG PHARMA
Armstrong = BIG PHARMA
Cannot beat this guy
Lance Armstrong é o maior e melhor ciclista da história.
People keep saying its level. But its not lol.
Teams did doping at different levels and not all bodies respond to doping equally. You people are simple minds
Lance was always head and shoulders above the rest... doping or not. Everyone that rode with him would agree.
Lance and his doctors were just so much better at doping then the rest of the field. Must be so proud as to be the better cheater. Has to feel so good. " I was the best CHEATER IN THE WORLD." Has to feel so good.
You see how Lance teammate help delayed the other rider for 30 sec.
Lance Armstrong the greatest cyclist ever!!
D une façon l homme critique toujours un pro cette homme avait une puissance inoui
@WillhelmLerHoyt Yeah me too. I would always take off my helmet and put it in the front brake cables while I climbed. They would hold it there perfectly. Now with internal cable routing there is nothing to hold it! Not that I would anyway now days. Too many crazy drivers talking on cell phones.
:I must say that even though all are fully doped, for some reason Armstrong got the benefits of such substances were much higher than those obtained by other .... why?
What kind of physiological beast is Armstrong doping him into invatible, invincible, so superior?
+lupo7345 he had better and more drugs!
lupo7345 it's not what, it's who. Dr. Ferrari.
He trained harder...he traines longer...he wanted to win more...
Simple facts
He definitely had his porridge that morning.
roberto eras bursted the race and still resisted untill the end
amazing/best job ever
I agree, they all dope, they have to in order to bike what 2,000 miles or so in 21 days. Nobody has an advantage if they all dope. Lance is still king.
Roberto Heras a solid GC
Armstrong is the best
Such dominance
Those were the great days when you didn't have to wear a helmet.
ME MISS TOUR DE PHARMSTRONG!
the television station i versus.american channel.and commentary is for celebrat phil liggit
The best
yeah and what about all those legends who doped themselves up when it wasn't illegal?
Lance Armstrong once again reaching into the suitcase of pain !
The Tourminator
Lance was probably the best, strongest bicycle rider ever. But every contest has rules and in order to win, you must compete by the rules. Armstrong did not play by the rules, so therefore he did not win. Maybe others would not have won either, but every contestant agrees to compete by the rules and knows the risk of getting caught is DQ.What if someone rode 10 miles, got in a car and then rode the last 10 miles, would they be allowed? What, they would not? Why not, because it in the rules that riders must ride the entire distance. That's why we have rules and rules in sporting contests should be followed and when they are not followed the rules should be enforced.
And what about Miguel Indurain? did he win 5 tours de France? According to the UCI he did, but there is literally a 0% chance that he did so without doping, his performance was quite literally superhuman, and everyone he competed with later admitted to doping. He quietly retired once doping scandals started becoming more common. Lance's only mistake is one-upping him with 7 victories instead of 5. In fact, in Lance's time, drug testing was a lot more rigorous, so he doped a lot less than the madmen in Indurain's era.
The rules are just a piece of paper, what actually happens is a different story
Ippin
Doping
drugs - they're a helluva drug
Tousweek
Imagínate lance dopado y beloki natural.....pudo cambiar el tour
They should put lance in one of the legend of cycling let us not be unfair to him.. Because doping ossue is until now a days is a big issue it never stop even if he confessed about doping... Let us be fair..
helmet not mandatory. It was another cycling period than now.
Lance is the best
it would of been such a different decade for the tour de france if no one was drugging
there is no reality in any of this
Even if he did (no positive test) so what....they all did, drug or no drug, he was the best of the best....always will be in my eyes, the greatest sportsman in history....I couldn't care less about doping...people need to wise up..ALL great athletes take PED's
Esa fue la generación del dopaje esos títulos de. Perdieron
I know ! truth hurts ! but if you knew what cycling really is you d understand that i m right !
😆y avait salé la soupe 😆😉
Think again. He failed several tests, but the UCI covered them up.
1 test he got a positive result of a deug thats not illegal with a prescription.... he never failed another test....
He "failed" them 5 years later when thwy had the test for what he was taking back before
Yeah, the same tests that Froome and Wiggins failed later as well and even they were given a pass
Not even out of breath 🤣🤣🤣🤫
Vvv
Only 21 years ago....no helmets, no carbon fibre. Looks a different sport.
Meteo
die ersten werden die allerletzten sein
Armstrong always has the fastest cadence.
The cadence is thanks to mechanical doping.
Is using a Bluetooth controlled device...
Armstrong has not told the whole truth.
Lower gears higher cadence, look at team sky- ineos this is how they ride
Sky is basically the US Postal of the 2010s, dripping with gravy lol
💉💊💉
I prefer to see them 10kmh less with the suffering on the face today it is the 3rd generation EPO in small undetectable doses
So unfortunate how Armstrong got framed.
I have as many Tour de France wins as Lance
I love dope! Gimme that syringe!
cruel joke
incredible powers? incredible dope you mean
As wer know, there was a positive doping test on the first day at the first tour after his comeback. If not for corruption and politics, he would have been suspendet and would probably never have won the TdF. But back then Armstrong's Comeback was a feel good story. So they let it happen. After 1998 cycling had the chance to make a new start. They did not take it. I will never understand that.
They weren't all doping! There were clean riders but they finished down the GC. The drug cheaters ruin the sport. There are young kids out there who want to emulate their "heroes" but their heroes are cheats. Shame on them.
For just about every positive comment about Lance’s domination in this event, there are replies of cheat…..Well you Woke Snowflakes, they all doped, have since the beginning of this, so it was a level field, and Lance, as has been documented, spent his entire year training for this event.
Joseba Beloki: winner of the 2000, 2001 and 2002 Tour de France.
