Wow! Thanks! For the first oil change on our new 4JH57 I tried the dipstick tube like on our previous Yammer and on this engine could only suck out about one quart (and tried this method according to the Yanmar manual. HA!) After searching all around the engine for a better option, I turned to "Doctor Google" and found this CZcams post. Thanks, dude! Happy sailing!

    IMPORTANT!!!
This plug deforms after a certain time (ppl say 3 years), and no longer stays in place (I think rubber shrinks).
A working engine may spit it out followed by spitting out oil, making a total mess out of engine compartment, then you have to fish out the plug and put it back in (or make a DYI plug).
$10 part, replace every 3 years or whenever works for you.

Thank you Lucas. For clarity, once you takeout the plug, does the oil come out with gravity and fill the pan placed below the engine?

No it won’t, you still need to use some sort of oil vacuum pump. It just gives you better access to the bottom of the oil pan.
