Cutting buds allow the plant to grow new branches. If you don't cut the head of the branches it will just grow straight with very less branches due to which you will yield less fruit. If you keep on pruning all the new branches also this procedure will allow more branches to grow resulting in yielding more fruits.
This procedure of pruning is applicable on all the plants....whether fruits, vegetables or flowers. To get a bushy plant start pruning.
