Have you ever experienced floaters or flashing lights? I have a few floaters myself, so if you ever see me swatting an imaginary fly, you know why :)

@Said Liban I would recommend that at your earliest convenience you get an eye exam with dilation, and let your eye doctor know what happened to you. If you get new flashes, curtains, loss of vision then visit your eye doctor urgently. Hope that helps!

@Said Liban Probably no need to worry at the moment. I highly recommend you get an eye exam at some point with a dilated exam just to make sure. Talk to your eye doctor about your concerns about flashes. Hope everything turns out well!

I see hundreds in my eyes, a couple of darker ones. Most are clear and are annoying. My eye doctor told me that there’s really nothing that can be done and just to monitor them. I’ve had them for years and I’m 23 lol. They just float around and we coexist together lol

I’ve had floaters since the 80s. A few years ago, when visiting my otolaryngologist for vertigo, I mentioned seeing cobwebs. He immediately sent me upstairs to the ophthalmologist. That was the worst, most uncomfortable exam I’ve ever had! Several very bright lights going deep into my eyes. The problem? Old age (I was in my late 50s).
Lately I’ve had black spots, especially in the outer corners of my eyes, that cause me to think someone (or my cat) is in my peripheral vision. But there’s nothing there. Weird.

I think as we age. We need to take supplements to sustain our dying cells in our body. Two months ago , I experience sudden flashes on my right eye. Alarmed at first, I immediately buy over the counter eye supplements (fish oil and lutein). It works but there is few instances that it sparingly recurs. I search for more eye supplements online until i finally order two competing products - (Sight Care and Vision Alive Max). So far my vision become clearer and the old flashes totally gone. Added bonus is that I am experiencing uninterrupted sleep for the first time of my life.
I also bought Sugar Defender for my pancreatic health and V.F for added stamina. It works as advertized

I am 63 and today have been experiencing off and on sudden streaks of light at the periphery of my left eye - and also a few (very few) floaters. I am nearsighted and so I gather the chance of a retinal tear or worse is higher. What I don't know is how 'immediate' is the 'get attention immediately' I see in virtually everything on the subject. It's late evening and a Sunday (off topic, but why does every medical situation occur on a Sunday?): is this a go-to-the ER now, situation or a call your doctor tomorrow situation? My husband had a retinal detachment that happened very fast - two days from onset of symptoms and he almost lost his vision in that eye - had to have a schleral buckle put in. I will take a chance and see my eye doc tomorrow, I guess.

@@s.p.3710 don't worry about RD, since some eye gel changes in retina you get those floaters(told by my doc) for safety just do a dilated eye test with retina specialist
