Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could czcams.com/users/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.
I love Leo’s respect for the fish lol! Can’t wait to see y’all collaborate again

I’m also from Kentucky, Louisa Kentucky. We don’t have many great spots here so we usually fish our own ponds. I have a 10 pond large mouth in my pond in the backyard. Amazing to be able to fish right there beside of your own home

Fun fact: a fish has a lot of blood vessels in its tongue, that once penetrated is very hard for the bleeding to stop, sometimes hooking a fish in its tongue is deadly for the fish , a lot of times the fish will die later on, from a tongue hook, simply from bleeding, and a lot of times it will not, just depends how good you hook it, but there’s nothing you can do as a fishermen to avoid hooking a fish’s tongue, not blaming you for anything because to 100% of fisherman, it happens wether you know it or not.

Leo is right to be wary of showing bass bleeding from their gills after you catch them. I've said it before and I will continue saying it: switch your trebles for barbless single hooks. It's safer for you and the fish, the right thing to do as a C&R angler, and you get the added bonus of fewer lost fish because the single hooks drive deeper than trebles.

You should invest in a little kayak or something it would be neat to see you rip around the lake in one. I have recently purchased a little inflatable and plan to put a milk crate in with some pipes for rod holders, just have to be conscious of where my hook is at or I could have some problems! I am a long time fan though it is nice to see you back and fishing I wish I could fish with you one day!

Just a small note, blood does not coagulate as easily IN the water. In fact, if you keep a bleeding fish outside the water for about 10-15 seconds, you may give it a better chance of survival. Water pressure does not hold the blood in as it applies to the entire body of the fish, squirting just as much blood out as it may or may not hold in. Tight lines!
Please do a video for the nockamoxin lake (north of Philly), there is a fishing pond in the park too, where you can clearly see schools of sunfish, and bass.
