No surprise that this can only be done through cheese. My guess is that it initially was going to be fighting all the bosses at once but after realizing how unreasonable it was to get a P rank, they changed it to a boss rush where the bosses don't get assistance.
My guess is that they were originally going to combine their attacks and create new ones. For example, pizzahead throwing pepperman like a bowling ball Then realized the fight would be too hard with attacks that the player wasn't already prepared for
Gustavo carried it all. Not Peppino, but Gustavo. Plus, Gustavo was cheering on Peppino the whole fight even after the vigilante was defeated. Gustavo did all the work.

i found out if you give your self 10 or more combo frough the debug mode and head into the boss area you keep it but when you super taunt they just lose all their health
on pepperman boss if you do it 2 times and you do the last attack the game thinks we beated pizzahead already 💀💀💀💀💀💀(it also happens on the final boss when you fight the fake pep and use super taunt then hit him it too thinks you already beated pizzahead)
if you don't want to cheese it, then an idea i thought of was stunning fake peppino until he's the last one left, since that's effectively one less boss for the entire gauntlet until the very end *_IF YOU DON'T ACCIDENTALLY WHAP HIM_*
