One reason is that the orchestra support for Suvarnaji's rendering of this song was better, I feel, and more close to the original, therefore allowing Suvarnaji's voice to stand out. The second, and more important reason, in my humble opinion is that Suvarnaji caught the small subtlety of the song in the part ".......mohobbat mein dholiye......." much better than the rendering of Sanjeevaniji, and that made all the difference. On the other hand, I did feel a bit of hesitation / pronunciation difference in Suvarnaji's rendering of the phrase...."hasraton ki daag"... My two bits worth observation. Apologies to the two talented artistes.

Wah, Maestro,wah.superb gaylat,bow to ur musicians also.I still remember long back in that competition (with all senior music directors of old times),Bela Shinde was given first prize,Was totally wrong.I think u sang Barsatme ,the difficult end of song,u sang fluantly.I was ,depressed & stunned,as they didn't select u first.Anyhow u proved u are the best still.God bless you to sing lifelong melodiously.Thanq.
