Easy simple solution is to be tougher on crime and don't let up on the pressure.
We need stronger leadership for our city, police force, in our schools AND in the home. It starts at home. These kids have no training or common sense, then they grow up and take that to the streets because parents are absent, neglectful, immature, and allow TV/tablets/cell phones/and Hip hop culture/ and the government run school system to raise thier kids. We really have a problem of the heart. We need leadership strong enough to give REAL consequences (jail time) for criminals.
Even cracking down on littering, the pan handlers on every street corner, running red lights, blasting loud music... Cracking down on the small things will also prevent the larger crime. It would show that Montgomery isnt going to play around.
I live here and its aweful, Chief Hall was chief of detectives before the interim chief

The problem in montgomery and I have lived here for 66 years.Is that reed has been trying to debunk the police ever since he's gotten in. Two years ago in september in a city council meeting he took half of the police money that was supposed to be given to the department, he wanted to start a program called hug a thug. He said under his breath, and you can hear it on the video, police are too aggressive. it's his narrative to make the place not so aggressive. I have talked to several police officers who had left and some who were going to leave and they said they're leaving because of him that it is not safe to be a police officer in montgomery. He has stripped them of their police duties by making weak officers and not enforcing laws that he thinks It's too aggressive. Reed suffers from victim hood mentality. You can hear it in speeches that he does. He brought up a month ago in city council that he's the only mayor that someone has shot into his house when he was growing up. On an audio tape that came out.He talked about how no one here will give him money.He has to go outside of the state to get money to do things. Even.
Saying that the police is too aggressive but yet he has six officers that stick beside him day in and day out wherever he goes. We, the citizens want to know.Why does he get so much protection when he don't protect us. He went hidding for 3 weeks When he was asked at a city council meeting that he should step down. he sees people Are turning against him. the first time in the 5 years that he has been mayor if you can call him that, When he was at a city council meeting Bragging homicides have decreased by 22 % that night as he was lying, there were 3 people killed. And he for the first time showed up at a Homocide crime scene. Back in the day when this city was a good safe city.We had a mayor that carried a gun and he k showed up at every homicide. Reed needs to read his Bible where it says in Romans 13:3.If you are breaking the law you should.
Be scared. Officers are here to arrest you. I guess reed thinks he's above the bible. He is supposed to have been over the police department for the 5 years.He's been in his position and he is now just finding out how to handle crime?
I want to share with montgomery citizens there is A bill they are trying to pass next year Where if the city is as bad as montgomery In crime and homicides that The mayor will not be in control of the police department And it will be given over to the governor or the attorney general. I'm encouraging all my people that I know.And to encourage others to call governor ivy and to say we need our city under this bill before it's too late. Reed does not need to be over our police department.
He is trying to debunk it. When pike road suggested this for montgomery, he got all upset.
And said it was just about getting the republicians to be in charge of a city that is a democratic city.
No Reed it's about getting our city back to where it's been in the past before you took over and started destroying it.
Since his term our city has tripled in homicides but he makes up excuses. REED IS THE PROBLEM

When he ran for a second term majority of the people in this city didn't like him but they couldn't find themselves to vote against him because he was the only democrat running. I had a friend of mine to explain that they couldn't vote for him but they couldn't vote against him because they'd be voting against the democrat party. So he won. But these are people also that are complaining about the homicides and the crimes in montgomery. So I encourage those people to now.Stand up and to let your voice.Be heard and call governor ivy and let her know you want reed out from under the police department. He don't even care about the ninety plus percent black on black homicides here in montgomery. He just says they just know each other. Reed does not know how to control a city because he himself.Has victim hood mentality. And that is how he is running our city. He is scared of the ADULT THUDS So he tells our officers do not Be so tough on them. But yet he wants to tell the teenagers how they should act.
When he started tearing down statues, names of schools and street, he made the statement.If something offends you remove it. So what do you think he was telling the people in our city who has gun issues. Bang bang bang and up the homicides went.
The chief of police werent the problem It was the leadership of reed As I have been told by a lot of officers That has come to my house.Because I call them on people in my neighborhood. But Reed wants to make it out like they were the problem and he removed them. Reed you are the problem and I personally along with a lot of people in montgomery want you removed.
