9:58 Noticed that, did you?
Sorry, I will be out dancing! Enjoy your boxes,
The story is told over the course of the films. "Bourne's" background, who he worked for/served, and how the story began when/where it did.
This film; "Bourne" failed his assassination mission and was subsequently shot, that's how he lost his memory. Not necessarily by being shot, but add in the trauma from being adrift in the ocean/sea potentially suffering hypothermia, and add in the psychological trauma that may have caused while he was unconscious.
"Treadstone"/"Black Briar" are the names/titles for government "black ops" programs. This would be the U.S. C.I.A. type of agency being portrayed.
Regardless of knowing or not knowing "Bourne's" amnesia, or whether they believe it or not, "Bourne" failed his mission and there are too many questions surrounding both his failed mission and everything following "Bourne's" return to Germany/France, the police in the park, the bank, the Embassy. "Bourne" is a liability, that's why the Agency is looking to clean up the mess.
The series is worth the watch. There are 5 total movies. The first three with Damon are the core of the series. They could have ended there. Then they made the fourth film without Damon. It stars Jeremy Renner. It's a bad film and there's absolutely zero explanation by the studio as to why this movie was made. Other than it would make heeps of money riding the coattails of the Damon films. However, watch it anyway. May as well so you can ask the same question..."Why?". The fifth film is Damon kind of cleaning up the mess the fourth film shat upon the original trilogy. But it is better than the Renner debacle. And it gives even more back story to "Bourne" and the programs run by the Agency.
All in all, worth the watch.
😢DAWN,, With your love for Clint Eastwood movies,, Her are 2 MUST SEE Classics starring him,, That are BOTH much different than what you are used to,, "Kelly's Heroes" (1970) And only 1 year later,, "The Beguiled" (1971) It is described as an "American Southern Gothic Psychological Thriller"..I KNOW that you will enjoy both my movie lovin' sister!!...And as always,, I will definitely be looking forward to your reactions. ❤
*The movie title is a play on words.*
"I like The word assassin because it has ass in it twice." I'm dead. 😂
Ass in ass as an assassin.
fu**ing Classic
It's scary how similar her personality is to mine lmao.
@@geraldmorgan6906 Oh gawd, we're surrounded.
The first 3 original movies are a great series, and each one is better than the previous one. Matt Damon as an action hero was a huge surprise.
She won't understand those either.

@@user-vm9we7fs4d. What’s boring? The movies? You must not understand them. That’s okay. Some ppl are just really stupid. Don’t feel like you’re alone in this. But your special eds teacher is already doing wonders with you. You’re able to get online, make an acct 9 months ago, and start leaving really stupid comments. I’m so excited for you. I like the "Bourne Legacy" too! Jeremy Renner did a great job!
@@robertschuenemann7390 I’d love to see a mashup movie. As long as they make a decent script of it. Because according to the movies they actually do live in the same time line.
"Come to Scotland. Nobody looks." LOL! You've GOT to make that a T-Shirt. Sounds like the start of a "Monty Python" sketch.
You can't go to Scotland, Bond is hiding there with M. He called dibs.

>Ward presents the information of Treadstone to congress but brushes it off as a failed project and quickly moved on before they could question him (moving onto a project called Blackbrier (remember that name))
I hope that helps you, Dawn.
This was a good breakdown of the ending and why Ward did what he did. Hopefully Dawn finds this useful. If she has more questions from this, I hope she asks, then we can answer.
You missed the part where Jason kissed a girl and liked it.
The fact that she need this kind of explanation is kinda braindead..... I couldn't stand watching this. This really isnt a hard movie to follow.
Isn't that called a spoiler alert?
@@ashflame6888 - yeah, she spends the first half talking over all the dialogue while trying to predict the film's outcome. And then she spends the second half of the film repeating the phrases, "I don't get it. Who is that? What's happening? I don't understand. Am I missing something?".
"I like the word assassin because it has the word ass in it twice" - cracked me up that. Great vid Dawn.
The funniest woman on the Internet. And she does not even know it.

Hello.
Half her subscribers be like: "Well ... yes. Go on."
You never understood that since the CIA didn't know he lost his memory, they thought he went rogue. And a man of Jason's ability is extremely dangerous to the 'agency', particularly those that sent him. These guys don't fail, particularly Jason Bourne.
Matt Damon was born to play Bourne like no one else could be John Wick other than Keanu. Great reaction.👏🏾
Steven Seagal is better than

But Dawn is correct in that a lot of stuff in Wick movies is not believable..hence why I would say Bourne movies are better.

Thanks for uploading! Greetings from Sweden
"Like Spiderman. Spiderman doesn't die," LOL! Your dry sense of humor is hilarious.
Best comment. “Have some cereal before you go “. Lol
Yeah I would have...just to get some ENERGY!.....
It was based on a series of Novels by Robert Ludlum. In the novel we find out that Jason Bourne is the name of someone he killed in Vietnam.
Loved the original novel. Was my first (I believe) Ludlum novel and I remember how thrilled I was because it took quite a while in the novel before one got to know who he really was and what was behind the whole thing.
"I haven't seen any James Bond or Mission Impossible movies..." Oh why do you tease us so... 😂
When I read this I actually made the "O" Face😮.
I'm glad that you enjoyed this, Dawn. You need to watch, "The Bourne Supremacy" and "The Bourne Ultimatum" these are all great films which continue the story.
Dawn, the little red Mini Cooper they were in, is LEGENDARY. It's beloved by petrolheads the world over. It's super tiny, nippy AF, and super agile. It's a BEAST of a car, despite having a tiny engine. All of the stunts here would 100% have been done live, in a Mini Cooper. It's BECAUSE it's so agile, that they could zip through heavy traffic.
Hello all…
Here here…
We totally agree with the above sentiments about those lil vehicles 🚗
If you haven’t done so already, think about putting the Italian Job on your watchlist the original and the remake they’re both pretty good, actually quite good; to us.
TakeCare…
You forgot to add that they are also total junk.
You forgot to mention the cataclysmic nod to _The Italian job_ in this movie.
Its got a pretty big part in the newer Italian Job :)
@@michaelriddick7116 If you're talking about the version with Edward Norton, a) that was a fucking terrible remake and b) it wasn't the same car. It had the same name, but otherwise almost no relation.
Another absolute MUST SEE Classic that was WAY ahead of it's time & also starring legendary comedic genius "Don Knotts",, "The Incredible Mr. Limpet" (1964)..Soooo Good!!
Yeah, iirc, Mr. Limpet is similar to Jason Bourne, just an earlier time period..
They'll pick him up, take care of him, make him a fisherman. NAILED IT DAWN
She spends the first half of the film talking over all the dialogue while trying to predict the film's outcome (all wrong predictions, and each more ludicrous than the last). And then she spends the second half of the film repeating the phrases, "I don't get it. Who is that? What's happening? I don't understand. Am I missing something?".
If she makes you so unhappy, maybe watch somebody else's videos. I kinda want to see Dawn's version where he becomes.a fisherman@@Mr.Ekshin

I always wondered if there’s a place in the world where I can just disappear. Glad to learn that Scotland is on the list.
Like Dawn none of the Scots will be able to rem anything or anyone.
And like Dawn they are still trying to figure out how cameras work and what a computer is.
So ten minutes after they meet you your not even a memory...drink can do things like that....and in Scotland a sober person without a beer can is called an Englishman.
The Scots would have conquered the world if they only knew where to find it.

Matt Daaamon
The Bourne Trilogy of Identity, Supremacy and Ultimatum are outstanding films. Matt Damon is superb throughout, brilliant plots and super pace in each film. Here we have the start of this brilliant action packed, entertaining film. You gotta do The Bourne Supremacy and Bourne Ultimatum, they are equally fantastic.
His boss explains that he could send anyone to kill Wombosi. Jason was sent to make it look like one of Wombosi's bodyguards killed him, a setup.
Your explanation of the tall hat had me laughing.
"Maybe I'll find out in the next movies. Or maybe someone could just tell me."
Nobody tell her!
The girl is Franke Potente, who was in the fantastic German film Run Lola Run.
It’s true that you can pay anyone to do anything. I went to a Who concert in 1989 just outside Boston, and there was this British couple that had flown to the US from England to see them perform but they didn’t have tickets. I ran into them two different times, and each time they were paying a security guard to get through the next checkpoint.
The actress in this movie, who plays Marie is the same actress who played Lola in, Run Lola Run.
One thing that always gets me is that in all the Bourne movies, he never wears a disguise. He has every spy agency around the world looking for him, YET makes no effort to look different...no beard, no dyed hair, and still, they can't catch him!
I've seen this movie about ten times and never noticed the red bag at the end.
Make a note of what Clive Owen's dying character said to Bourne, comes back later in the series
Jason is the best assassin out of all global assassins that work for treadstone. A CIA organization. Prior to amnesia, Jason used one of many aliases (michael kane) to inquire about a yacht for sale (wombosies yacht) to find its location and kill Wombosie. He failed because of the kids and the bullets/cold seawater gave him amnesia. Jason is learning all of this throughout the film. In the meantime, treadstone knew they had a failed wombosie mission and couldn't figure out why their glitch (Jason bourne) was being sighted everywhere... safe houses and banks, etc. They set out to kill the glitch (Jason bourne) using other assassins they own and also finish the Wombosie job. Jason basically gVe treadstone an ultimatum to quit following him. Now you're set up for the next movie.
Dawn: “I am seconds away from bursting . . . “
Me: “Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha …”
There is nobody on CZcams like Dawn.
When this first came out it scared the hell out of the James Bond franchise.
The tall hat theory was cute, but they'd just assume your head was at the bottom of the hat, hon.
On a ship at sea if there is no doctor, and need arises, you just have to do what you can.
The books that the Bourne-series movies were drawn from are even more frantic and fast-paced than the movie. If you're a reader, they are a good read.
Well, they would be, if the prose wasn't the stylistic equivalent of playing Beethoven's music on a toy zylophone.
@@BenjWarrantYes. His books are great but I find them really difficult to get into bcz of the way he writes. Also I m not a native English speaker which makes it even more difficult. Not to mention my Reader's Block 😢
I've just realised, Bourne wouldn't know that was his voice. 6:21. A person's voice sounds different in their own head to a recording.
Definitely need to watch Supremacy and Ultimatum at the least.
LOVE that yer getting to this one, Dawn.
Of course there is the 'kinda' alt version to this (non-boy movie version), Luc Besson's La Femme Nikita (1990), and it's American remake, Point Of No Return, with Bridget Fonda. Both worthy additions to your awesome channel :)
Great reaction, as usual. If you like Franka Potente, you might enjoy "Run Lola Run" (1999). : )
Criminally underrated movie !
Yes, see that one, definitely.
The assassin with glasses is Clive Owen. 3 must see movies of his are, Shoot Em Up, Children of Men, Sin City.
Ah, I've been looking forward to Dawn starting this trilogy
8:18 "Imagine having strong enough fingers to hold on like that."
Sounds like some Jackie Chan films need to be slipped into her spy-movie schedule. (At the least: "First Strike", "Supercop", and/or "Who Am I?")
Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights with Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson are both excellent!
@@THOMMGB The three I mentioned had the benefit that Chan was an agent on a spy mission. That helped narrow down the *enormous* number of choices.
In particular, "Who Am I?" could be considered a light-hearted version of the "Bourne Identity", since Jackie's character has amnesia.
The guy who played the African fellow was also in the fantastic HBO prison series Oz, where he played the role of Simon Adebisi, also an African man. The secret how his little hat could stay at the side of his head without falling down, is still a mystery studied by scholars, mystics and physicists alike. It defied all the known laws of the universe.
Great stuff Dawn. 2 and 3 are even better too!
Love this film. Looking forward to you reacting to the series
I agree. It really was a good run for Matt Damon.
Jason Bourne had a pen before John Wick had a pencil!
Joe Pesci had a pen in the movie Casino, before either Bourne or Wick!
Oliver Grunner had a Pen in 1996 movie 🍿 The Mercenary before Jason Bourne and before John the hippie Wick , just sayin 😉🥃🚬
@@SGTMARSHALL1 Casino was in 1995, so Pesci wins!
@@SirHilaryManfat haven't seen it but I highly doubt Pesci used a pen with tactical precision like a professional
@@SGTMARSHALL1 You make a fair point there. It was more of an angry lunge, so I'll give you that. 🤣 But..... Pesci did lead the way in writing implement attacks, so in some ways he paved the way for all these other guys.
Why do I now want to visit Scotland! You’ll love the next 2. Hope to see those reactions soon.
I'm glad someone(you)is finally reacting to the Bourne collection!
I read the book, and saw the movie, and it irritated me.
He wakes up after having been shot, with nothing other than a safe-deposit box number. He opens up this box that he doesn't remember what was in it, and its full of money, passports, and guns.
I can't telll you how many times I've found a box I'd put away in my attic or basement and mot remembered what was in it. And it's never been full of money.
It's just not fair.
One of the hallmarks of this series is how realistic and grounded they are, very smart writing and smart plots, they don't patronize the viewer, top tier entertainment
Thanks Dawn Marie for spotting the bag full of flowers at the end; I never noticed that in any of the dozen or so times I've watched the movie.
You can go and have a pee now!
omg at 0:32 you can hear Dawns thoughts!!!
"Go to Jamaica, they'll never find you there!" I don't know, a pasty guy would stick out like a sore thumb there. 😀
GOOD SHOW, mon cheri: "I like the word 'assassin ', because it has the word 'ass' twice in it."
You NEED to see all the James Bond movies starting with the very first!!!!! Sean Connery is 🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yes, all these sort of movies have so many "Bond-isms". Before any John Wick or Jason Bourne or Equalizer guy, there was Bond.
It would be better for her to start the Bond movies at Pierce Brosnan
I always have the same thought about "swiping down the whole place for fingerprints."
You will love Franka Potente (the co-star), in "Run Lola Run" (1999)
Another awesome watch along.
Who'd have thought Bourne Identity would produce one of your funniest reaction. You crease me up you crazy Scottish lady.
You should give watch 24 if you havent. I spent the last few weeks rewatching them and completely forgot how good it is. I feel it'll be right up your alley
What a coincidence! That's why I like the word 'assassin', too! 🤣
Lol. Thought it was just me. I'll never lose my 12 year old sense of humor.

Really? I just laughed my ASS off.
One of my grandmas favourite series, i remember her watching these all the time as a kid! Glad you enjoyed it looking forward to the rest :)
I thought i heard just a hint of John Candy in your
"Go to Jamaica (mon)." Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.
Listening to this and the first few minutes I hear it's massive and imagine having that inside you. I blame the Internet for where my mind has gone. Love the reaction and the accent
You may have seen her in Run Lola Run
**Dawn sees tiny thing that needs to be viewed under a magnifying glass** "It's massive! Imagine having that stuck in your body!"
not a size queen apparently
16:43, No, Dawn..That model mini-cooper won the European off-road rally race two years in a row! The trick was the tires were wider than the car, there's an "Skid Plate" under the frame to prevent engine damage, it had a 4-way indie suspension, and it was very "Bottom Heavy" to keep it from flipping..still a few hundred of 'em on the road today! You're reactions are so fun...I loved this series.
Think there's still more than a few hundred. My '74 Mk3 'Seamus' is a ton of fun in the bends.
"JAMAICA"
You are the best, Dawn!
I hope you'll watch the rest of the series.
If you haven't seen it, "Atomic Blond" is much like this, with a 20 min-long fight scene that had no breaks in filming it.
How quaint you should think that. It's 7 minutes and is composed 40 separate shots. Just very nicely put together.
Atomic Blonde is fantastic. However, the plot is as convoluted as the three Bourne films put together, with much of it implied rather than shown or exposited. I wonder whether Dawn would appreciate it despite being even more confused than she is here.
Early in the video, "I can't see the two the them together." "He isn't interested in you."
15 minutes later, "DO IT! DO IT!" "Kiss her back! YAY!"
Fun movie. But your reaction had me thinking you were very confused on a LOT of major points. (especially, "who knows what")
"I've noticed that people that are lonely like to just sit an listen to people "
Gee thanks 😅😂😂
I never noticed the red bag with the flowers before. Good catch.
They found Richard Hannay (The 39 Steps) in Scotland. Well worth watching the Hitchcock verion.
Dawn,
I've been to Scotland and had the Best time ever!! Everybody looked (at the strange American) and everybody cared, (about me).
in the novels on which the Bourne movies are based, Conklin is actually his trusted friend who assisted him in his missions, not the one portrayed here....
Love these Bourne movies. I was stationed overseas while in the US Air Force for 12 of my 24 years. Whenever anybody asks me what it was Iike I tell them to watch this series and pay attention to the film’s locations. I was stationed in England,Germany,Turkey and Kuwait with vacations in Spain, France, Luxemburg, Italy, Canada, Mexico and the Bahamas. I think everyone should get out there and travel and explore. It widens your perspective and I think makes you a better person. Now after being retired for 24 years I’m finally heading back to Germany for a vacation with the misses who has never been out of the USA. What FUN we’ll have!! Cheers
Drinking game: take a shot every time Dawn says "Jamaica" 🤣
I read the book at some point in the ‘80’s and watched the 1988 tv version starring Richard Chamberlain: it was about halfway thru the video that I recognized the story and had the strange experience of remembering I had read the book.
when Conklin denied that he sent jason to kill Wombosi, what he meant was that it's supposed to be secretive and unofficial and off the books, so to speak, he doesn't send him to kill, he sends him to be invisible. he does send him to kill, but they don't speak openly or directly of it, kinda like a politician. likewise, they refer to things as operations or missions instead of murders, even though that's what they really are.
The first 3 are fantastic. 2 has a bit too much shaky cam, but 3 is really really good. This series basically redefined the action movie genre.
"Ronin" (1998)
"The November Man" (2014)
"R.E.D." (2010)
"Central Intelligence" (2016)
"The Eiger Sanction" (1975)
"The Mechanic" (2011 remake)
You have to admire Dawn's super power of stating the obvious a few seconds after it comes obvious
Bourne was a special assassin sent to kill Mombosi, but lost his resolve when the kids were there. He was shot, and lost his memory while adrift at sea. There're more details in the rest of the movies but that's the gist of it. The department, Treadstone, that sent him was completely illegal, so had to cover up the whole thing when Jason failed, trying to kill him and then killing the former boss. The new boss started his new project, Black Briar, but that's for the next movie.
The movie where they pull someone out of the sea and turn them into a fisherman is called "Captain Courageous".
It's a great film, but that shot of the assassin popping into frame and diving out the window remains one of the most unintentionally funny scenes I've seen.
Clive Owens character wore glasses. I was told, as a glasses wearer, that I was not eligible to be a secret agent.
This is one of those instances where the book and the movie are quite different but both are excellent
So, what I got from this reaction is that Dawn wants to go to Jamaica!
Matt is great in "the talented mr ripley" also in "green zone"

That's what I do when a movie I like is adapted from a book. There's always the book mentioned in the credits, Dawn Marie.
