- The East Kirkby Airshow is back for 2021 and in this video are some of the highlights from the flying display and also the taxi run from the Lancaster Bomber and Mosquito NF11 HJ711.
Sadly no Dakota or Spitfires from the BBMF in this video as the rain started before they were due to display and the footage I filmed was very grey and flat. Also there are a couple of other displays missing as I had to change batteries and I was also taking photos.

Me and my wife were fortunate enough to get tickets for the show and what a fantastic day it was . Huge congratulations to all those involved, you did a splendid job and we look forward to next year . Thanks so much for posting this video, great memories of the day 👍👍
Hi Dave thanks for watching and your comment. You're very welcome :)
Watched this from a small road with some other random people, only saw he end part ( c47 and spitfire) and it was great! Where we were they flew over us!
Love it there, in a great part of the country as well
Great video of the display. Enjoyed displaying the Auster with Pyros. Thanks.
Thank you Kevin. Was a good day and good to get out to an airshow after so long. Thanks for the display too :)
Great video thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching and you're welcome :)
Very nice and interesting video... keeo up with this tradition of remembering the old planes which helped surving an entire nation....
Thank you Daniel. It's good what the museum and the staff do in remembering the era and those who took part.
@@Martinuk79 : Indeed, in that respect UK is doing a great job keeping up the history alive for the young generation...
I was their it was amazing loved the gemini and the yak 50
It is a shame there is no Mosqtos flying in UK since it could fly along with Spitfires, Hurricanes and the Lancaster .
Tickets all sold out for the show, so had to sit in a nearby lane and watch from there.
I was there. Apart from the rain at the end it was a superb day out
It was a good day. It was a shame about the rain, but we were lucky especially with the weather forecast.
Especially Lancaster bombers....
Spine tingling sounds... :-)))
Great video, it was a lovely day out, very lucky with the weather as well.
Thank you. It sure was a good day and the weather was on our side for most of the afternoon hehe
@@Martinuk79 When they know its turning for the worst, why didn't they bring the Dakota and Spitfires forward? . Are the flying times unchangeable?
@@rodgeyd6728 To be honest I think the times were changeable as due to some displays being cancelled as they couldn't make it from the south due to weather things were juggled about a bit. I'm not sure if with the BBMF they had other slots they were attending, or there wasn't the room to move them forward. Either that or they still wanted them to close the airshow. I know in previous years the BBMF opened the show.
@@Martinuk79 don't think they wanted to come with that rain cloud coming over, I'm sure they could have come earlier. Would have been good to see them flying either the B-17, maybe next year 👌
@@rodgeyd6728 That would be nice to see in a display :)
I wish we could travel! Won't be getting back to the UK for a long, long time yet. Australia goes into lockdown when someone has dandruff it seems. They won't let us leave the country unless on a mission of mercy. I'm wondering if going to airshows qualifies. LOL
Great vid! What camera are you using? Quality is nice and sounds not distorted either 👌🏻
Thank you for watching and your comment. It was filmed using a Sony FDR AX33 with a Rode Microphone with the microphone settings set to manual so I could lower the level meter for the audio so it doesn't get blown out when close to the engines.
Why has the Lancaster got clipped wings? It spoils such a beautiful aircraft. I have visited this airfield several times and loved it but unfortunately Covid has left me housebound this year but I hope to get better and try again next year.
It is all to do with the restoration. If I am correct they have got wings or part of wings borrowed from a different museum so work can be carried out on their wings. This way they can keep her doing taxy runs without removing them all and not having her on display until wings finished.
Just goes to show you that you cannot trust weather forcasts. It was supposed to be downpours all day in Lincolnshire according to the Met, and so many people, including me, didn't go. I don't see the rain in the video, but actually quite a pleasent sky.
I know how you feel I was thinking about not going but glad I did. Trouble was they got it so wrong I ended up getting sunburnt. The footage with the rain I couldn't use as the camera kept hunting for focus and most the time it was a blur :(. Just a shame it didn't hold off until the end of the display.
Missed it 😒 and im a lincs aviation club member too.. bloody work always gets in the way 🤬
Hopefully next year you will be able to make it. One of the best events in the calendar year :)
Is there a full vid available?
I think some has posted seperate videos from the displays when you search for the 2021 airshow.
So sad, birds with clipped wings 😭
Lovely way to pollenate the taters!
