Nothing we do will ever be perfect, but with the right mindset, curriculum and pedagogy, things will move in that direction. Next year, they won’t be perfect but they will be better than they are now.
This presentation will focus on CA San Mateo-Foster City School District's
lived experience with JiJi, full of short vignettes from the field. Robin Lovell will illustrate how their district has gotten a little bit better each year with our implementation of ST Math, within the context of a dynamic math program.
If perfection is what we’re after, we will fail. Learning occurs over time, with engagement and excitement, along a course littered with mistakes and imperfections. ST Math encourages risk taking, grants access, builds conceptual understanding, supports student sense-making, and reminds us that “perfect” is an illusion, not an end goal.
