Common misconception. Kind of absurd to think owning a condo is different than owning a home. Condo fees pay for the maintenance and insurance on a property - something that single family home owners need to still pay for themselves. The fool waiting until they can afford the single family home instead of first starting with an affordable property, gets priced out forever. Buying an affordable condo, building equity and then transferring it to a single family home is a smart path.
