- I've been eagerly awaiting Rooftops & Alleys and even though I'm definitely not the best skilled player in the game, here are my two cents as somebody who does Parkour in real life. It's insane seeing some of the lines people are putting together, here's just one example:
• The Best ROOFTOPS & AL...

Hey Jason! Thanks so much for sharing my game with your audience! I really appreciate the honest and constructive feedback - this will help me a lot improving the game during the early access phase now :)
really good job.
amazing job dude 💣💣💣💣
Awesome job dude! As I said, here anytime if you want some Parkour person input 😊
Hello i like The game very much but do you Think u could make a mobile version?
7:51 in the video is very true! It would be so cool if you'd be able to reach everything in the map by foot!
This with a chill multiplayer freeroam where you can just hang out with people on rooftops and minigames like catch would be sooooo good man!
This game has so much potential
WITH TAG ... BROOO
Hell yes this would be amazing!!
multiplayer will never be added but it would be cool indeed
or like capture the flag or like races
Please share this ideia with the dev in the game discord, it would be so fun
The developer is a really nice guy, and I know that your feedback will help him improve the game. Thank you. (He did add poleslides, yessss)
So stoked about poleslides!
he really is. he was quick to add a suggestion i made (ability to wallrun into walljump and vice versa) that helped pretty much everyone add more verticality to their parkour lines. the only thing i can recommend to add is better map design and the ability to climb from ledge to ledge.
i like how this game literally added poles to slide down the day this was uploaded lol
4:11 "i'm sorry dom this game is not realistic" 😂😂😂
Yeah when you think about it, the protagonist is supposed to be someone mastered parkour physically. So it should be somewhere on the very limit.
But it could be a nice mechanic, to implement some skulking in the game like with exp, you could upgrade your Charakters skills. Now he can jump a longer distance, or can bigger drops, or can faster flips.
Or whatever, a stamina system.
Or you level up by finishing some challenges.
*to implement some skilling
It remembers me a bit about the game "Free Running" from 2007. I think not many people know this game and it feels very old but i have loved this game
Free running was lit on psp back in the day
That was one of the influences the creator listed.
Now we just need some chill multiplayer, and a game of tag with tricking points

and keep moving :)
please ask STORROS if this game is a knock off or not 🙏
You should play Roblox Parkour Reborn, you'll like it :D
@@yuki-dv2wi You mean STORROR, right? From what I saw in development of Rooftops & Alleys this is completely the developers own thing. It's Tony Hawk with Parkour instead of Skateboarding. Also Storror's main features were Stuff like motion Capturing and 3D scanned models of them and reliving iconic situations they had, which is really different to this game.
I think its quite clear that R&A is not plagiarizing from anyone, but only taking inspiration from different existing games, which nearly every game does. (Would be a shame if they didn't as this would stop growth in the games industry, like the patent on the Nemesis System.)
@@yuki-dv2wi what a weird thing to ask. Only one parkour game can be made at a time?
Those lines you made at the end of the video were extremely satisfying!
I’ve had my eye on this game for a while so it’s awesome seeing you play it and share that experience on the channel!
Let's go! My favourite CZcamsr playing my favourite game! I have been waiting for this :D
Haha, so glad you enjoyed this
😮 impressive that this is done by one person without a big studio behind it. Super fun watching you play it had good laughs and pain 😂
I love seeing u post more again!! Keep up the awesome work. I hope you an your family are doing well! Much love!
Glad you played this, I’ve been getting so many videos for it in my recommended
I've been wanting to get this! It looks amazing 😍
I can imagine implementing and coming up with a fluid control scheme must be really tough with all the moves parkour has. Great review of the game though!
I'm really excited to see what Storror Parkour Pro will end up being like, the devs have been killing it 😁
I’ve been watching the devs stream every now and then for the Storror game and it looks next level
I had a feeling you were gonna do this and I'm glad you did
This is awesome, i hope we see more of this dude
Thanks!
the slides and barswings would be sick to see in the game!
This is the content I subscribed for! :)
“That’s also how you’re supposed to do it in parkour. You’re supposed to find your limit first and then work your way down” 😂😂😂
damn bro i was thinking that you should play it and now you actually did it. love ur videos
Any other games you’ve been thinking about? 😊
@@TheJasonPaul when it comes out definitely storror parkour pro
@@TheJasonPaul Ordered after Priority imo:
1. Mirrors Edge (I also think there are some crazy mods by now, its a classic),
2. Dying Light (they worked with David Belle there),
3. Mirrors Edge Catalyst,
4. Perhaps Prince of Persia (really liked the PSP titles)
5. Assassins Creed Unity? Saw some nice Parkour Stuff there, but from my experience Assassins Creed completely takes the skill out of the movement, which really annoyed me.
No need to go too deep into them if you dont enjoy them, but would love to see what you think about the Movement.
Waiting for storror parkour pro!!
Great video, would love to see more gaming videos
You got it
Same here. Mirrors Edge would be interesting, or even Dying Light (the first one, where they worked with David Belle for the movement). Or some thoughts about the Prince of Persia Movie (ok this one is really old by now :D But I really liked it)
I don't think the flips in this have nearly enough weight or impact, I definitely agree with your criticism of them. Removing doubles without serious setup (eg getting the airtime to rotate) and also possibly making flip rotation based on how long you hold the button for, to enable layouts, overrotations, underrotations, etcetera, would inject some much needed skill into the movement.
Yes, I thought about that, too. Essentially it would lean a lot more into the Skate style of gameplay, which I personally really enjoyed. However, I'm not sure if this is asking the game to do too many things at once. I can see a world where we have a more arcade style game on one side and then a simulation game on the other side. Maybe Rooftops & Alleys will be the arcade version and Storror the simulation?
makes me even more excited to Storror Parkour Pro, which is way more of a pure, realistic parkour game
love it thanks for the review
Thanks for watching!
I see this game as a spiritual successor to the phenomenal Free Running for the PS2. MAN I loved that game.
Agree!
Bro this is a very well made video with such valid criticisms.
Thanks so much!
why do I just love it ?
It’s so satisfying
Insane💯
I've been dying for years to see 3rd person parkour games. I especially love games that seem simple to play but have a lot of room to master. It's great when falls & failing is a big part of it in fun ways. Excited to see where this goes and other games like it. Some more arcade like some more simulation like
Agree!
I’d love to see more flips that rely on objects like a wall flip, and possibly the ability to add twists mid flip
mixing this game with the FreeJack revival
Rollerblade Parkour racing MMO
would be peak
Whohooo another video
Double Arabian is the natural progression 🤣
Can’t believe we skipped it all these years. We really need to get back and brush up on those basics
i got up the slide by precision jumping over and over again , it’s super finnicky though but i think the exploration aspect of parkour is so important
Haha what a weird way to have to do that
A parkour RPG game would be fire tho. Imagine your certain muscle groups getting highlighted as you move, indicating progress. In the beginning, you keep working out and then your muscles get damaged so you have to heal by AFKing/not playing the game for a while, leaving you very incapable of doing parkour, and giving you longer time penalties if you attempt to. Meanwhile spending that time on hubs/lobbies, maybe healthy nutrition simulation, multiplayer hangout…
As capacity of our character increases, we get less and less sore muscles in parkour, therefore more time to play with more capacity.
This game is very legit. I wish it was more realistic with ragdolls and more precise with limitations of parkouring. Parkour in games underestimate a human's capabilities a lot, for example Assassin's Creed (talking about older games of the series). Faster and way more things are possible in real life than it is Assassin's Creed.
"afking"? thats just dumb, just make it have a sleep function you can do jn game or by quitting game.
@@megaflux7144 I thought of AFKing because some games have mechanics or warnings that you should leave the game and take a break for your health lol, so maybe a game that prioritizes health mechanics could also remind you on your irl health. Other than that, yeah, it's pointless.
It would be so fun to be able to reach more areas of the game as your character gains experience.
Also imagine a super hard mode, where every injury bumps you back by a few skill points. It’d be an actual challenge to get to pro level
@@ahlatagaci2018 i would say its equally important to not waste electricity running games when you arent playing them. but yea i cant stand the notion of games that require afking.
@@TheJasonPaul needs some time trials to boost speed in that case. great minds definitely think alike. kind of cool if it had a 1/100 chance of causing an injury every time a landing was failed.. OR if it had a "rehab" mechanic minigame to sort of punish people for taking unwise risks.
Love ur vids jason😊
thanks!
i thought i had a super long advertisement until i realized it was the video
😆
It’s an informercial
This game would be amazing on all consoles!
Yes please
Reminds me of a really fun old PSP game "Free-Running". Prolly my favorite parkour game. Quite similar to this but with tons of versatility. Could really use some inspiration!!
you're right. it had such a similar feel!
I'm glad Jason played this game. This game is soo good. smother parkour experience lovely game. Also try different parkour games Jason Paul love you ❤
Thank you 😃 will do!
@@TheJasonPaul ♥️
Sick video, if you like this game you may like tricking 0, it has some parkour, tumbling and cliff diving in it too
Such a fun game but it’s so hard. Only time when trip cork is easier than b twist 😂
I didn't know jason was in gaming, that's cool !!!
Poleslides are in the game now
my favorite parkour content creator? my new favorite parkour game??? come ON today can't get better. also babe wake up jason paul posted a new video
Haha thank you 😁
@@TheJasonPaul DOG I BEEN WATCHING YOU FOR MULTIPLE YEARS AT THIS POINT DONT RESPOND TO ME ILL CRY
Hi jason! by pressing the down button you can place the respawn point where you are and return to it at any time by pressing up. Furthermore, if you go and see the controls there are some tricks you haven't done yet, nice video anyway 😁😁
Yes, I figured out the respawn, but when I watched other people’s videos afterwards I realized how many tricks I missed 😆
Wait till he sees the modded maps or clothes
For judging jump distance I think it would be good if there was a marker on the ground to show u where u would land based on the jump strengh your applying.
Poleslides have just been added!
I think it's the best so far. Not great but not bad
Imagine a zombie survival horror game or something like that with these mechanics
Will you play storror pk pro?
I'm planning to! What would you be curious to know about it?
why? its garbage compared to this game. sad cash grab from storror so far.
Just wanted to note that yes there is of course only 3 maps if the game is still early access. That just seems logical.
I think one map sounds more logical tbh
@@TheJasonPaul real😂
Cool game. 👍
8 hours parkour in real life, 8 hours parkour in game, 8 hours parkour in dreams
Jason did you see Freejack online? It's a multiplayer parkour game from 2010s that's being revived. A beta is just about to end.
It's definitely on the anime/arcade/jet set radio side of things but I've been playing the beta and it's really fun when you're racing with other people.
You can do poleslides
Thx, ill see it as skate 4: parcour edition
You guys should check out storror parkour pro
Rmemener you can also creste a checkpoint by pressing one od the buttons of the dpad instead of walking back
So useful
Let’s go
when you jump and press a trick in a direction, you do some different tricks, like in tony hawks... if hold he can do more times depending the tricks.
Yep
they already got mods too the assasin's creed map is insane
Looks sooooo sick! I think I’ll have to make another video in a month or so
Would actually love to see you play some more games ( doesnt have to be PK related )
The Witcher has been on my list 🤣 but seriously, I just found out I can run windows on my MacBook, so I’ll get a little setup going. Had to borrow my brothers laptop to make this video.
if this had a create map id dig it
Yo Jason Paul youtube gaming, gnarly bro
haha, what a weird timeline to be on
there is polerides btw
its cool to have a balance bc to me i feel like i cant do parkour
Anyone else think they should make this like skate 3 which the challenges and career mode + online spot battle where you get points for every trick combo🎉
Sounds so fun
How can you get it on PlayStation
Good question
Jason, have you played Mirror's Edge, or the reboot on this channel? 😮
Would be cool if you tried Tricking 0, it focusses more on tricking but has a parkour mode too
The one thing I'm worried about is the structure. It looks like small worlds with time trials and that's it. Fine if you want to pop a few minutes here and there, not sure how it'll feel satisfying.
He can add combo challenges, but I dunno.
Was maybe hoping for a more mirror's edge structure where it is level based and it is going from point A to B and running away from someone. Or neon white.
Either way, was hoping for a more level by level structure and not a small area do what you want structure
There are also tricking challenges, but you are right. I would love to see a story or a metroidvania type game.
I see it this way: He is actually completing the movement system and level/metroidvania stuff will be in there at some point. Either by community wish, or made possible by modders :D
Is the game out for xbox yet? Or is it for the switch or sum?
that looks like the storror game
It's like a Parkour version of Rider's Republic. I love that game. I haven't even started a career in anything. I just go ZEN Mode.
They got alota moves. I wouldn't get too upset about what it doesn't have. Remember it's a video game. Never meant to replace the real thing. It is something fun to do while recovering tho.... lol
You're like "That would be so much easier in real life...." yeah, for you it would. lol
When you get too far into things you have developed into your own style of parkour. You can't expect all of that to translate into code programing for game controller. It's just too intricate. I mean it's in your mind and dna on a cellular level. They don't have enough buttons for all that.
I'd play it. When does it come out for xbox ?
How do you get this game
On Steam for PC
Does it have back and side ejects like Assassin's Creed? I love the parkour in that game
What are those ejects?
@@TheJasonPaul both start from a hanging position with feet on the wall then jump or jump + direction. The result is either landing on an near object the same height as the characters hands(usually the desired effect) or wherever.
I think the double araibian should be just one flip
It reminds me of the Lyon 25 stair jump.
Would love to design one level that features all the iconic Parkour spots
@@TheJasonPaul If you get in contact with the creator and set this up together, this would be nuts!
8:08 You can get up there, you just have to be in first person, and you can slide up it!
Ok, this is a weird bug 😂
I hope this comes to ps5
you gotta try the storror parkour game
Will do!
@@TheJasonPaul thanks it a really awesome game trust me I mean there isn’t really much but it is awesome
It's Tony hawks pro skater on feet
pretty much
Diese Backhandsprings to Catpass hat der Robo Tracer aber von dir geklaut 🙂 Hab ich das erste mal so Anno Dazumal in dem ersten Farang Video gesehen... Sieht jedenfalls cool aus. BTW Was hälst du von Storrors PK Pro?
haha, ich liebe diese Combo!! Storror Parkour Pro sieht geeeeeil aus, will ich als nächstes Testen!
Please try Tracking 0
sometimes game developers have to set up unrealistic limitations to make the gameplay experience fun, but in the case it is clear things is still missing
Yes, but its also in early access rn so there will be a LOT more! Really hyped for where this game will go!
This game is just warming people up for the Storror game
I think its a different style of game, but I also only saw the first announcement videos. Will see if there are more Storror Game Details by now :)
My toes still hurts🤕
Check out storror parkour pro still in alpha stage
I should!
Hi
if you want a parkour game try mirrors edge. it release over 10 years ago but still is ahead of its time and is really realistic.
also there are a lot of mods by now 👍
The jump in this game kinda didn't feels like a jump idk how to explained. and the precision jump kinda scufed like you said, and yeah the hard part of parkour became easy and the easy part became hard kinda arcadey and a bit confusing.
Backhandspring to double Arabian rofl
👌🏼 just how I recommend you learn it in real life
Hearing assassin's creed movement be called a gimmick hurts not just because there used to be depth and skill to it, but even more because the series would just shave away at that depth instead of expand on it so now the games became as shallow as all its imitators were.
It's on Xbox? I thought it was only on PC
we need a more realistick than this game but i take it for the moment
Waiting for Storror 👀
@@TheJasonPaul ive dl the beta but i find the gameplay too rigid.
Is 127 € not a little steep for a beginner parkour course. if they try it and dont like it, then never use it again then it is kinda a waste of money
20 years of training went in to that course. If you look at it another way isn’t 127 euro pretty cheap to get 20 years of learning in one course?
I think it’s a really fair prie
@@ShaunWoodd yes but maybe you can devide the course in to smaller bits and charge a little for each section so if you realise that you dont really wanna do it you can just stop there and you haven’t lost 127 euros but just like 30 euros
If we say it was devided into four or five lessons
