Fourth. Per the law the judge could not modify the sentence any shorter than 110 years.

That way I would have left it up to fate but give myself a fighting chance to survive while having the safety of others as my main concern At 85 mph! This man never intended to kill or hurt anyone as I can tell. I just learned about these truck ramps and I never knew what they were for. This is so sad and made me cry a bit for all of them. This is where being responsible for what you do for a job and where the law comes into play here. He should a way lesser sentence than 110 years. He will die in prison. That's way too harsh. So many criminals with bad intent get lesser sentences. Now five family are ruined. This sentence should be overturned. • @bretjjjohnson7942

He doesn't deserve that. He was taught enough to pass his CDL. Trucking companies tell you to avoid the runaway at all cost. Because they tell you it will ruin your career as a driver no matter were you go. That man was trained for 3 weeks with a more experienced driver than himself. To drive that truck before being sent out there on his own. The company is the one that needs to be held responsible for what happened. He already has to live with what happened for the rest of his life. Knowing he killed 4 people doing as much as he was trained to stop that truck and its going to kill him inside for the rest of his life. That's punishment enough not to sentence the man to a 110 year's in prison. for doing what his company taught him to do.

Tell me why police officers knowingly kill people or mistakenly claim to kill people and get lesser charges and sentences than this man received. Especially when the officers have been working on the job longer than this truck driver has been alive. I know that he may have made mistakes in his judgment in the rate of speed he was at; but that doesn't excuse the fact that the company he worked for had a known history of malfunctioning problems with their rigs. It's a sad tragedy that any of this happened and that families are now grieving due to this horrific accident. I know what I'm speaking on; because I too have lost family members in horrific ways and certainly way before their time. The sentencing was overly harsh. The young man who was involved in this fully cooperated and was sincerely remorseful for what took place. When officers accidentally kill someone. The first thought in their mind is O'h no, they're going to lock me up. This man's reaction was totally different. He was genuinely upset about the situation. His first thoughts were not about himself. I believe the majority of the blame should liye with the trucking company; for these simple reasons. There has to be a record of how many times and amount of problems the rig he was driving had previously been serviced and repaired for ongoing problems. Second the prosecution jumped to press charges for maximum sentences beforehand. Meaning the prosecution didn't have all facts before drawing up multiple charges with heavy sentencing. I believe the prosecution acted maliciously and with prejudice. It's just another man of color thrown away in prison to rot and for the state to look good in convictions all the while the state getting richer for housing another inmate and costing tax payers more money. I agree he should have consequences for his actions; but the ridiculousness of the heavy sentencing is not warranted and is egregiously unjust. Have him do 8-10 years and pay the family restitution for the next 20 years. That's a just punishment. Not taking away a man's life for a mistake and harshly punishing him for the rest of it. His sentencing will not bring those people back nor make the families involved any less distraught. This is a disgrace on our legal system and our nation; that this is what counts as justice. I've been disappointed by many act's of the legal system before; and I do mean all branches of them, but to have this type of outcome for something that was not done out of malicious intent is just straight plain black and white wrong. I hope someone takes this case on pro bono and appeals this outcome. I pray for all the family members who are involved with this and suffering. God have mercy on you all.
