The best review I have seen regarding the golf Gti or Golf R. Well done really enjoyed this guys. Having 3 different Gti's from 2007 to current in South Africa. I am a fan of the Gti and Golf R for sure. Would love to get the Golf 7.5R now....
The EA888.3 in the Gti can easily make double its factory power to 420+ bhp & 600nm with a Golf R turbo and some hardware upgrades and a performance tune...super fun in a FWD hatch. The Gti is indeed t Swiss Army knife of hot hatches.

Nice review but when I hear about the boot space, u did not highlight that GTI has more space than R due to no rear-drive differential. So for practicality, GTI is slightly ahead of R.

Nice timing, I'm deciding whether to buy the gti or the R next month, (just sold my A250, the suspension on that car is so stiff!!!) is the comfort mode on the R as nice as the comfort mode on the GTI? (I've tested the gti last week) Also the branch that I went to did not have the R available for test drive, do you know which branch in KL has the R available for test drive? Thanks
Handri check the latest All new A class it will drive you crazy With the interior and from critics it drives real different being more comfortable (much more) and sportier than its predecessor yo.
Handri stiff suspension hv it's own advantage but like you I prefer softer it's more practical and a lot comfortable.
The Mk7.5 R in my opinion, in "Normal" mode is in no way harsh. You do feel some bumps but it is very well cushioned out for a car riding on low profile tyres. Just keep in mind that the 19" Pretorias are quite soft so you will want to avoid going hard into bigger potholes. The R cannot be test driven, so far, according to my knowledge.

If you plan to mod to big power levels, the R is the way to go with its stronger engine internals, better fueling which support high Hp applications and AWD for traction to put all that power down AND for t 7 speed dsg. Go for the GTI if you are happy to bump up the power to say 300+hp simply with a good tune. FWD has its own type of fun too but the R is for serious Drivers

I think their both pretty subtle in terms of looks i own a 2020 S GTI and I’m 50 so i wanted something mature, practical, and fun unlike the Type R which is screaming look at me!!!!

both are underpowered compared to the 3.3L v6 stinger which is around 12k cheaper than the Golf r in SG. Some F&F: 365BHP;510NM check this out

i drive w204 c200K with full valvetronic ekzos stock..once i speed 195km at highwy thinking im the fastest in right lane..In a few sec Golf Mk6 straight behind me high beam ask my mercedes to move away bitch!..Damnn i couldnt chase that Mk6 so powerfull car

Golf R can be driven quick by almost anybody. WRX STi is a breed of it's own. For me, surely I would go for WRX STi as it's my childhood dreamcar, but there's no doubt that golf is still a better car.

Mat saleh review always drag race and the road condition in Western countries is different than Malaysia. But Malaysia car reviewers are different, we not only pay attention to detail but also how practical it is, value of money etc. I find Malaysia car reviewers are better than many mat saleh.
It is quite limited for mat saleh to decide car especially in Europe 80% of their cars are small hot hatch or SUV. They don't really drive sedan, MPV and 4x4. But we Malaysian have all tastes and more variety. So please appreciate Malaysia car reviewers for their hardwork and also CZcams is open for global. There are many overseas people watching their channel too. If you insist want Malay language there are Malay speaking car reviewers available out there.
Overpriced trash. At this price better go for 3 series. More utility and more drivers car. Rwd instead of fwd. For a sports car it has even less power than a regular BMW. I remember the times when GTI used to dapao a beemer. VW has stood still for a while and their rivals has more than caught up.
